SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, april 26th
Good Morning!
There is nothing on my calendar today. But tomorrow is taking my brother, Jim, to lunch to celebrate his 78th birthday. Thursday is dinner with Warren. Friday is getting everything ready for the big Mary Q/Sue party. Saturday is arrival day! Then it's fun, fun, fun until Tuesday when everyone leaves. Wednesday is massage day. Going to be a busy, but fun week around here! All pleasant stuff.
BECCA - I thought about you while your party was going on. I just knew you were basking in "what you have wrought"! All such great people you have populated the earth with. Congrats!!
TINA - you have to be exhausted. And don't feel badly that you didn't go over to your parents' house yesterday. They were probably exhausted, too, and just wanted to collapse in their favorite nesting chairs. I suspect the approach to your mom's blood clot is a careful one as they don't want to bring on another nosebleed, too!
LADY CAROL - I knew the pasties were lunches for the miners, but not that they held dessert in one end of them. Or that they discarded the pastry crust. That's my favorite part!! Thanks for the more complete history on one our personal favorites!
LADY CAROL - I've lost my whole post before and found it already posted!
LADY CAROL - you again?
CHICKIE - I am so bummed that we weren't at your ATV Trail Ride party! We have the buggy and the dog. And we love the trails. I'd like to make some on our property, too, but it would be a short ride! We only have 2-1/2 acres. Even little Odie could run the whole trail system! lol!
IRISH & CAROL & JANA - you girls didn't go on diets, did you?
Our chili relleno casserole was good last night. and the best part is I have enough of evrything - rice and cornbread and sliced tomatoes - to do it all again tonite! My DH loves leftovers! I am so lucky!!
Do you have a supper plan yet at your house?

P.S. CHICKIE, I forgot to tell you, we order our flea/tick meds on-line and pay about half the going rate the vets and pet stores charge. The sites vary depending on what prices they are showing at the time we order. It's the same med for cats and dogs - Front Line Plus is what we use - and our vet worked out the dosages for us. At 12#, cats get 0.5 ml. Scottie, at 33#, gets 1.3 ml.

Good morning!
I need a diet, but the only diet I am on is the "see food diet"!
We did chefs salads last night. Tonight I am in favor of outrageous courageous nachos. You need to be one or the other to eat them. My kids named them this when they were little, and it has stuck.
Rainy here for the rest of the week. The naughty word od snow has even been mentioned. Around here it always snows on the first part of May.
Well time to get going,
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello all,Looking like we may get a shower.Just saw where some parts of country are under tornado watches.
Jana I too have wanted to eat more recently & I hate to get like that. Will have to really start watching as Dr called this AM for appt for check up.I told them to wait to June.
Maryz Our family is getting so big anymore we can't all get together at our house. If they all come we go to Fire Dept. They have a big room & Kitchen you can use.We used to always have about 21 but now up to 40.& 2 little ones due.We really have a great time when we get together.
Tina Prayers for your Dad,Mom & your family.Dont feel bad that you missed a day.You get worn out running back & forth.Praying better days are ahead for you.
We got the blood work done this morn.I am going outside to plant plants I bought & repot some ferns.I love getting new flowers.
DD called & they were going to look at a new house. They have to move Mid June so they are getting antsy. And the baby is due May 11 & she has to be there for them.Time is short for them.
Oh we have ham potato salad & roasted asparagus.Fresh strawberries. Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, april 26th
Good early afternoon from sunny and warm but the people in the "know" are calling for storms later today...But, what do they really know, right......
Mary, like Jana, I'm on that "see food diet" and it's working, lol....You do sound like you have lots and lots of fun stuff in the works....I can only imagine what fun you'll have with the "gals" get there...And you do know, we can hustle up bail money if needed...
Chickie, your trail ride party sounds like so much fun...There are times when I wish we lived on a farm although I didn't really like the farm chores but would love to have fields as you do....Our Chris always wanted a ranch either in Texas or out west...And funny, you should ask about the Schwan man...He had given up the route and we hadn't seen him for months and just yesterday, while we were gone, he stopped and left me a catalog...You know with warm weather coming, I'll be more than happy to have him knock at the door....
Becca, Love, love to hear about your family...As I said before, just your name makes me smile and think of lots of hugs and lots of love...I just added up our family and we would have 34 and for sure my little house would not be big enough.....
Jana, snow again? But, it will be gone soon and you'll be having summer...Around here, we don't plant until Memorial Day and then sometimes, it's ify...There have been many times I've had to cover the plants because of the late frost...I am so ready for summer.....
Lady Carol, why didn't you let me know about that pinwheel trick? All this time, I've been doing it the old way....Every chance I get, I'm making pinwheels...Made a bunch of place mats in hardly any time at all....Love it!
Our yesterday was spent at the "slice and dicers", all day....Jim had 2 pretty major spots that needed taken care of and came home looking like a good ad for the bandage commercial...One on the side of his neck and he must have 25 stitches there and then one on his left arm which I haven't yet changed the bandage...And in 2 weeks we get to do it again, has another on the side of his forehead....We got home about 6:00 last night and we were both dragging...I did tell Regis (the doc), he should put me on the payroll as the "meet and greet" person...I have met some very nice people while sitting and waiting...And during the wait, I did take a trip to JoAnns and helped the economy...Found some super green Irish fabric for Cari's quilt and also got 1/4 yards of about 8 or so action figure fabric to see how they'd fit into a quilt...Might be a challenge but we'll get it done.....
I think the only thing going today is for us to get out and vote..Other than that, not sure...Of course I can always start cutting into my new fabric.....
As far as dinner, it's getting harder and harder to get Jim to eat but I'm thinking maybe swiss steak and mashed potatoes with gravy....And, if I find my "get up and go", I just might bake an apple pie.....
Happy eating..........
Eagle update....Not much to report on my eagles...The babies in the nest near me are thriving and growing like those bad weeds...The parents are excellent hunters and able to find those fish easily...Another nest up the river has 2 babies but it's hard to see them but from what I've heard, they too are doing well....In the next near Cari's, they had 1 hatch but didn't survive and the 2nd eggs isn't viable but the parents still come and sit on it, waiting...So sad....
And in the nest in Ft. Myers, 1 eagle has fledged and the younger one is "thinking" about it...He/she is so darn funny, flapping and jumping around and 1 of these days, he just might take off...I really do think he/she's afraid of missing a meal if he/she leaves the nest....Half of this nest fell the other day but they are still using what's left to sleep in at night...After they learn to hunt on their own, they will take off and hopefully soar high for many, many years....It's been a wonderful experience watching and learning about these magnificent creatures.....

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, april 26th
Tonight's dinner will be Stuffed Pepper Casserole. I made another batch, because ground turkey was on sale. Now I will have two in the freezer. I also made a batch of Sloppy Joes. Can you tell I don't have much work? I had lots of errands today though.
Maryz - My DH likes leftovers too! We are so lucky!
Lady Carol - You are so lucky there are so many crumbles in your freezer! I cleared out my freezer, but there were none.
Irish - We have been nest watching a nest above the light on our patio. Their are three lights connected by a pole under the patio cover and a small bird has chosen to build a nest and hatch at least two chicks. I do not know what kind of bird it is, but they sing, so I don't think it is a sparrow. We are having fun watching out the bathroom window. It is fun!
Jana - Be glad you have rain. You are getting what we thought we might get last weekend. All we are getting are winds.
Becca - I am surprised you go to the fire department to find a room big enough for your family. I don't think California allows any get togethers at fire stations. Glad you could all get together and have fun though.
Have a Wonderful Evening Everyone!
Carol
