Supper club, April 21, Thursday......
Good afternoon from a semi sunny, looking like rain, SW. Pa....
I was surprised to see no one at the table and here it is after lunch (here in the east)......
I guess Mary is traveling, on her way back home...Will be anxious to see her safely back in her house....
Not much happening in this neck of the woods..Today is mending day...Not only my stuff but a friend has given me a few things..I've been putting it off and would rather do a whole quilt than mend but it gotta get done! Besides, I need to hem a pair of pants I want to wear tonight, lol....
And speaking tonight...This is the right night for the card party and my friend promised she will pick me up at 6:00...Lots of good food, great company and lots of baskets to be won...
I had a message from DS, Terry in N.C. and Nick is going to the Prom...This will be the 1st official "date" which makes it doubly special...Just wish I could be there to see them go, but hopefully, I'll have lots of pictures....
Then I had a call from Kathy and her stitches were removed but the doc forgot 1..She and the gal she works with checked it out and decided, since they work at the college, she would wait for a medical person to come in...Her DH said, he'd be glad to "yank" it out, lol...
So along with my mending, not much else is going to happen...Jim will be watching the rerun of last night's Pirate game, (played late)....And of course our Penguins will be on tonight playing the Rangers in the playoffs...Pens are up 2 games to 1, so exciting....
As for dinner, that might be whatever Jim is hungry for...The freezer is full, overly full, so he does have a good choice....And we still have that good ice cream for afters.....
What's happening in your kitchen today???
Happy eating...........
Eagle update: The eaglets in the nest near me are thriving, probably weigh close to 5 pounds and as big as a small chicken...
The eagles in the Ft. Myers nest are as big as the parents and 1 has fledged but the other is sticking around..I think, he/she is afraid a fish will be delivered and not be there to get it...
BUT, yesterday afternoon, 1/2 the nest fell...No reason, other than age or maybe recent rains had weakened it..But, the eagles are fine just not as much room...Going to be interesting if the parents try to fix it up or maybe move on to another tree.....Thank goodness this didn't happen before the eggs hatched or even when the eaglets were small......

Good afternoon!
Not much happening in this neck of the woods. It's Thursday, so that means uglies. Most are caught up now. I have always cleaned on Thursdays so that gives me the weekend to play.
Ethan is in seventh heaven, he got to go with Grandpa in the truck. He is now big enough to use a booster seat and not the carseat. The carseat stayed in my car as it was a pain to move. So this is a first. The two of them needed gas for the tractor. After the lawns are done, Ethan will get his ride on the tractor. If Ethan has his way, the lawns would be mowed every day, just so he could ride with Grandpa.
The pork chops never made it out of the freezer yesterday, so I will do them today. Add a macaroni salad and eat out on the deck. The weather is gorgeous! Just into the 80's and no wind.
Irish - what fun for Nick! He is just growing up too fast! Proms are great first dates.
Forgot - my little Gracie is now walking on her own. She is now 14 months old. Now to move things out of reach! LOL
Enjoy,
Jana

Hello Irish & others,Nice day here but we had a forest fire here yesterday about 7 miles from house.Smoke is bad today because the winds is blowing it down to us.We have had lots of helicopters going over.It was up at our National Park right where the Applachian Trail crosses the road.Dont know yet it it was set or an accident.
Irish Sure DGS will have fun at the Prom. And the Eagles sound like all is well if baby left the nest.Thats a good sign.
We had a busy morning in town with Dr appt.blood work shopping for chairs & groceries.Too much for DH.He doesn't go out very often & tires fast.
Can't go for walk due to smoke, really bad outside.Hope we get some rain to clear it up but none if forecast.
Much to do here but nothing That excites me.lol Irish sure hope you like mending better than me.Enjoy your nite out.
DH got his lunch in the deli & sweets in bakery.Doesnt pay to let him go.I have some chicken breast left so will make me a salad.
Our DGS & his family are coming Sunday plus our Levi that got home & DS.Will be working on that on Sat.Becca

Good Afternoon Everyone!
Every time I post early the menu changes. Tonight's dinner will be Stuffed Pepper Casserole. I just made two and put one in the freezer for another meal. I got the recipe from Betty Crocker website.
Irish - Enjoy the card game! Nick will sure send pictures of his big date.
Jana - You will have to baby proof the house for sure when Gracie comes to visit! Ethan must be so happy to spend time with Grandpa and the tractor.
Becca - Sorry you are enduring smoke. I did not realize there was a fire in your area. Hope you get some cleansing rain!
It has been beautiful here today. It is breezy, but no sweater needed. It isn't too hot either.
I am not sure how everyone else has done SS online, but at the end I was told to take Marriage Certificate in, so I dutifully took it to the office last Friday. Then Tuesday I got a phone call and an e-Mail telling me they had questions. it took me until today to finally get the man on the phone. He wanted to make sure I could prove I have insurance, because I don't have Part B or D. I now think I am finally done. I sure can't wait to stop working.
Have a wonderful evening!
Carol
