SUPPER CLUB - Thursday - March 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Mar 24, 2016 4:13 am

Good Morning!

Thank you for all the happy wishes yesterday! They worked! I had a really nice birthday. Autumn sent flowers and wanted a photo of them with kitty Foxy. It was his birthday, too. She wanted to make sure he looked good with 'our' flowers. I've always liked pink and black together. >^+^<

We went to Costco where it was all fun and games until we got to the checkstand. I played in my sewing room some, and then we went to dinner with DD, SIL, and the two adult grandboys. Bill gave me a $100 gift certificate to my favorite LQS - which will be having it's semi-annual 40% off sale in June. :o))) Life is good.

IRISH - the boys are coming! The boys are coming!! I know you are thrilled and even the uglies you do in preparation take on a fun aspect! Enjoy!! And it sounds like you may have to take up the sport of fishing to help support your little grand-eaglets. We will give them a special Supper Club dispensation to eat from the sea.

CHICKIE - were there nuts in that banana bread?? I could go for some of that. Add in Sue's chocolate chip cookies from yesterday's sew-in and we've got ourselves some good eatin'!

BECCA - Poor Sawyer! What a brave little guy! If that had happened to me, first of all, I'd be in traction. But they'd have to sedate me to get those teeth out! You really got a lot done yesterday! Wish someone would do that here. Not hinting, mind you. Just sayin' . . Oh, who am I kidding? Of course, I'm hinting! Would you mind coming and cleaning my house, too?? When are you leaving on your trip? I think you told us, but I'm older now and I forget things.

JANA - I heard you singing! The hills were alive! It was lovely! Have a good Activity day with your girls.

I should do a few uglies today. I've been letting them slide ever since we returned from our trip. And a little play time in my sewing room as my reward. Oh, and we need to finish off our shopping at the regular grocery store. After Costco yesterday, we couldn't face another shopping trip. We were out of EVERYTHING.

I had planned to make pork chops tonite, but we both have leftovers from last night's restaurant, so I think I'll just make a big salad and I shall call it 'Supper'.

What are you calling 'Supper' tonite?

Good morning! We are over 20 degrees cooler today than yesterday. I know… in a few months I’ll be wishing for relief from the heat. Still, it would be nice to have a warm Easter without rain and wind so everyone can eat outside if they wish.

Mary—you didn’t share Foxy’s photo with the flowers??? I like pink and black, too. That’s the color scheme in the quilt I’m finishing for DGD. Oh, yes, there were lots of pecans in the banana bread. I’d take chocolate chip cookies with pecans, but I’m the only one who likes them that way. Congratulations on your lucky day LQS gift certificate!!!

Irish—if you don’t want to go fishing, the baby eaglets will eat hamburger or chicken tenders. I can see you journeying to put food out for them! So happy to hear your boys will be there with you for Easter!

Becca—I’m going to spend tomorrow cleaning house for the hordes coming on Sunday. I hate housework!!!

Jana—That’s a cute picture Mary painted of you singing!

Tonight’s fare… chili or maybe taco salad. I have burger thawing. Salad sounds good to me. I’ve already made some guacamole for topping on mine.

Enjoy!

Maryz, sounds like you had a very nice birthday!
Chickie, I had guacamole, eggs and green chili for breakfast LOL it was very yummy! And pecans in chocolate chip cookies iawhile.
s the only way to eat them! It's a real let down to eat them without pecans ;)
Becca, happy late birthday....I kept meaning to come and tell you, my intentions were good.
Irish, I bet those baby eagles would eat just about anything LOL how fun that your boys are going to visit you!
I don't know what I'll be making for supper yet, I was thinking maybe chicken but may do banned food if the Schwan's man gets here today, we ran out and haven't had it for awhile.

Good morning from sunny, warm, SW. Pa..This is indeed the start of a great holiday weekend, even if it's only Thursday......
Yep, the boys are coming, the boys are coming!

Mary, so glad you had a super birthday and it sure sounds like it was a good one...And "singing from the hills" what could be better....

Becca, Your upcoming trip sounds pretty darn nice, also...You deserve some relaxing time...Hope your DH is feeling better...

Chickie, I'm not much of a fisher, could never bait a line and heaven forbid I'd catch anything and actually have to take it off the hook...I remember the 1st time Kathy went fishing with her ex. Put on waders and went into the river and would hardly put her hook under the water and kept saying, stay away fishy, stay away....
I think it's best to let Mom and Dad eagle take care of the feedings, I'll stay far away....

Today is find the extra bedding and towels and finish cleaning...If you would see my frig and freezer, you'd know I was shopping...I think Jim was worried I wasn't coming home yesterday, lol....But, I'm ready and can't wait to get started baking and cooking for the guys....

As far as our dinner tonight, with the weather so nice, it has to be something on the grill....Might even make some macaroni salad....

Happy eating.......

Did I tell you all, the boys are coming!

Good afternoon!

Just got all the groceries put away. If I take DH to the store, you can always know what dinner will be. My tortilla soup. He puts the ingredients in the basket, and then gives me his best please look.

I have volunteered to help with some food for a funeral tomorrow. I am making two goodies, chocolate flan bundt cake and lemon ricotta cookies. They are planning for about 75 for the luncheon. Friends of ours youngest daughter passed suddenly and unexpectedly. Today our DDIL-s sister is going in for a biopsy of a lymph gland. They thought she had the non Hodgkins cancer, but other tests are saying no, so the doctors need this procedure.

Busy day here,
Enjoy,
Jana
