SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Feb 6th
Good Morning!
I have good news!! Jim was doing much better yesterday. on a scale of 1-10, his pain was about a 7-8, I think, instead of 12! He is on the same pain med, but not in a continuous drip now. He gets a bolus push, IV, whenever he needs pain med now and it's working much better. he's more lucid, even smiled, cracked a joke at Bill, and flirted a bit with the nurse. Hallelujah! Jim is like my twin, only 13 years apart. We can communicate without saying a word. We are two peas in a pod.
IRISH - can you pull up that old carpet and use it for a template? What color are we going with for carpeting?
JANA - did you get to go out last night? I've been considering the Mexican restaurant by us for my sisters' last night here. I feel a maragrita coming on. Heads up! Rain moving in today and tomorrow, but behind that is several sunny days, 55-60 degrees.
BECCA - happy cast iron! I think food tastes better when cooked in cast iron pans. I've often wished I had my mom's old pans. So exciting to have new little ones to anticipate! Seems like Sawyer was just born!
CHICKIE - our old LQS used to give half your age off in percent for one shopping trip during your birthday month. But it has new owners and they discontinued it. However the shop itself is 100 times better than the old shop, so I guess that's a plus. And they have sales. Old shop didn't.
TINA - I am clanging the dinner bell! Hope you are doing OK. How is your dad?
We didn't get to the pizza last night so it's on for tonite. Turkey pepperoni, black olives, and crumbled American bacon. Yum!
got your menu set for tonite yet?

Good Morning!
Maryz - Such good news about your DB Jim! So glad to hear he is better. Hope your sister is feeling better too.
Becca - Hugs for you! Losing a friend is so hard.
Jana - I know how you feel about getting more precipitation. I wish we would get more and I know I am not alone in Southern California. I am wishing for a Pineapple Express for the next two months!
Chickie - Our quilt shops just keep closing. It is very sad!
Irish - I like Maryz' idea of using the old carpet as a template. I remember you have replaced it before. Do you have a template?
Tina - Will keep your parents in my prayers.
Tonight will definitely be chicken, salad, potatoes and vegetable. DH has been getting by with quick meals for some time now. I have been working a lot and trying to get a quilt ready for the show next week. I need to work on it today, but first shopping. I also need to make a trip to a card shop for my Valentine!

Good late morning from sunny but cold, Sw. Pa...I guess it's not that cold by most everyone's thinking, but to me, only in the 40s is darn cold.....But, Mr. Sun has made a very welcome sight.....
Mary, good news about your "twin"...I can imagine you felt the pain as much as he did...And to flirt with a nurse, that's a good sign, can't keep a good guy down, right?
I try to keep the carpet in the bathroom pretty neutral because I like to change the colors, so mostly it's beige/light tan...And, I can use the old as a templet except where the potty was, they moved it a couple of inches but that's no big deal...Now, you know Frick and Frack when they do anything so it's always funny when we're trying to figure out the layout, marking it on the reverse side of the carpet....Jim likes to have carpet because so his "tootsies" don't get cold.....The towels and throw rugs will be shades of celery and sage.......
Carol, Not too often do people "want" it to rain but living out that way and after hearing Kathy talk, I now understand....I had seen, maybe on a Sew In post that you were going to try the hot wax for your hands...Just the other day, my sister was talking about it..Her hands are terrible and she said, other than feeling so good at the time, it really didn't help her but she did love having it done... When I look at her hands and fingers, I thank the Good Lord I didn't inherit that trait...I feel so bad for people who suffer, as you do...But, I also admire you for keeping so busy and not complaining....
Not too much is happening in this neck of the woods...Jim has more or less taken over the care of Dan's fur kids...I think they enjoy having Pap give them their treats...And, it's also something he can do on his own, so far....Doing some uglies and hopefully some sewing...
As for our dinner, I really have a selection...I received another "box" this morning and everything looks great...So, will have a choice of Shrimp & Lemon Risotto, Procsiutto-Wrapped chicken or Peppercorn steak... All of the meals come with sides which also look yummy....Cover your ears Mary, tonight might be those tiny "mac n cheese" thingies......I did bake brownies yesterday and hopefully there is enough for afters....
Happy eating..................

Oh dear, it is not me with the gnarled hands. I think there is a different Carol that spells it Carole that has the problem.

Hello everyone, we have a good crowd around the table today
Mary, that is such good news, all around.
I had supper all planned last night and about a half hour from starting it? They called Frankie to get a semi going, by the time he got home it was too late to start that so that's supper tonight, pork chops, 1/2 a sweet potato, salad and Frankie has coleslaw left too.
Dad is going slowly but did get out of the house for his steak Thursday afternoon but then was wiped out for the rest of the day. Mom is struggling to try to fix meals for them.
