SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Jan 27th
Good rainy morning! We have a couple of storms passing through today and tomorrow, so everyone east of us be on the lookout!
IRISH - a new baby!! how fun! I bet that new daddy is busting his chest feathers!
TINA - how is dad? I love your Bee/Bonnet blocks!
JANA - a funeral? I missed who died. A member of your church? So sorry.
BECCA - What I was asking was if you are making other clothing so your R.A.s have a change of outfits.
CHICKIE - are you doing the Bee/Bonnet blocks also? That's good because I worried with all your spare time that you might get into trouble - right after making all those booties! lol! What fabrics do you plan to use? I'm not doing them - at least not right now. But I'd use 30's.
CAROL(S) - yoo hoo!! It's suppertime!! Come and get it!
I finished my TG quilt and also the trailers top and backing. I posted photos in the PHOTO section. My quilting room is now a bedroom and my sewing room will soon be one, too. I THINK I can still get to my machine after the bed goes up but I'm not sure my sister will appreciate my 5:00am sewing sessions in there . . .
Today, after the last of the UGH-lies I want to get done before my sibs arrive, I will be working on my R/W/B swap blocks - a pieced flag waving from a flagpole. I have all the pieces cut out and I got a good start on them yesterday. I really would like to get them finished before end of business on Friday, but don't think that will happen. I hate having a big break in the action of a project because it's hard to get my mind wrapped around it again at a later date.
Supper tonite is easy!! We've been invited to our friends'. I'm taking a salad. Not sure yet if it will be just a plain old tossed green salad or if I'll do something a little fancier like romaine, toasted walnuts, pears, and bleu cheese crumbles. That would mean a trip to the grocery store, but it sounds tasty to me . .
What sounds tasty to you tonite? And now what are you having? lol!
p.s. I haven't checked it out yet, but I think Chriss posted her tamale recipe yesterday.

Mary, Dad is doing pretty good
he has a tv and internet since Monday, apparently the weekend skeleton crew know nothing and they don't have anyone clean on the weekends either, come Monday they cleaned the bathroom for him and brought him a tv and did a management schedule thing. He wants out of there still, he says he won't have the other one done or anything else because of Mom not taking care of herself and her being such a grouch to everyone. She's only been to see him twice in the hospital and after last night twice in the nursing home. She's a mess, we love her but not sometimes she makes it hard to like her.
We went to Holly's last night just to watch Pretty Little Liars, we are a quick burger after, it made us eat later than usual, oh well.
Tonight is red chili meat

Thank you Becca. Just talked to Dad, he's having a bad day, any prayers would be appreciated. He's really feeling blue and really wants to go home. He's worried about Mom a lot which isn't helping either.

Good afternoon from a dreary, sun less (Becca has it all), still los of white, Sw. Pa....It's the kind of day, you want to crawl back under the quilt and just stay there, and I almost did...Boy, when I went back upstairs to make the bed, it was so tempting....
Mary, you sure do have a lot on your plate but then you usually do...Those 2 quilts are fantastic! I really do think you should enter them in a show....
Becca, I'll let you keep the sun for today but how about sharing the rest of the week...You sure are busy with your "babies" but what a treasure.....
I have this vision of Chickie, sewing away on those booties, every once in awhile, checking to see if they fit...Our Chickie is going to be famous....
As I said, today is a yucky day and not much happening...I had an early call from a friend in Florida and they had had 2 inches of rain over night....
Then I checked on the eagles and they are drenched...The parents are taking turns sitting on the nest covering the little one and the egg and it's sad..I just want to build them a roof or send them a big umbrella...The 2nd egg has a nice big hole in it so maybe it will hatch later today...I'm thinking, it heard about the nasty weather and is taking his/her time.....But, if anyone wants to see something adorable, check out the nest at Ft. Myers...Just too much cuteness!
I also had a text from DGS, Dan, and he's in need of a cat sitter....He's going on another cruise (Jamaica) and if I don't mind checking on his fur babies....MIND, I'd have been upset if he hadn't asked.....
I think I might work on new bathroom curtains....I have the fabric, just need to put them together....And then I want to start on the Easter runners.....
As far as dinner, it might be the pork chops...Last night, Jim didn't want to eat so we ended up with soup for me, he had cereal...If he has a late lunch, I have a terrible time getting him to eat dinner...So, tonight, we'll see....
Happy eating..............
Here's the link for the eagles, hope it works....

Good Evening All.....a very windy day.....with the promise of rain....nothing new with the weather here then........
I think I may just have seen off that awful chest infection that knocked me off balance........sounded like Whooping Cough and felt like Pnumonia.....a bit scary when you cant get your breath properly....but hey.....I wake up in the mornings.....which is better than the alternative........
have to say I didn't realise just how many people have had this germ.....probably down to all the wet and mild weather we"ve had.....
now I have to mention our menus......they have not been very exciting....mostly soups and porridge.....with a slice or two of hot buttered toast.....however our appetites are slowly returning.....which is just as well because this week end we are due to go on our Posh Ish week end to North Wales.......and if we cant manage our full rations......there are lots of mates to help us out on that score......
and todays menu was a little more daring.....Poached Eggs on toast.....and Maple and Pecan Danish Pastries......
Lady Carol

I am LATE today! We had a trip to town for errands including picking up my glasses and a blood draw, plus DH’s errands as well. Then the dogs and I walked down to play with Ava—always fun!
Dinner tonight: I just put a meatloaf in the crock pot along with some stuffed poblanos. I just used the meatloaf mixture and added some Jack cheese. You know me—always about the heat, although these are pretty mild. I’ll have salsa on mine, while DH will probably have ketchup. I’ll add some corn and maybe baked potatoes and a salad.
Ha, ha! Yes, I couldn’t resist the Bloom blocks along with my Bee/Bonnet that I need to catch up with… sigh!!! All are done with 30s fabrics.
Your sister might enjoy coffee with you… even at 5:30 a.m. while you sew. You know her best—and know what you can and can’t do… Good luck! At least maybe you can have some handwork… I know an embroidery pattern that would certainly compliment that quilt…
Lady Carol—so good to see you! Welcome back to the world of the less infirmed! Nothing like chicken soup to chase the chills, so I understand completely if you’ve been eating little else.
Irish—so sorry… I have the sun today!!! It’s beautiful, and I missed it so much! We are to be in the 50s on Saturday. I haven’t gotten the booties started yet… don’t hold your breath. I doubt I could get my fur kids to model… Speaking of which, did you see Ralph rockin’ his super hero pants? Too cute!!! Jules posted the pic, I think in photos.
Tina—hope your dad gets to feeling better! So sorry your Mom is being a pill about it.
Becca—maybe I’ll do oven fries with both sweet potatoes and Yukon gold… that sounds good!
Hope to get a few stitches in…

Hi Everyone!
Maryz - Sorry I haven't been on here lately. I have been working everyday this week, so dinner is rushed. Monday I made the meatless pasta with the cherry tomatoes and onions that is wonderful. Tuesday we had my fast hash dish made with Ore-Ida O'Brien Potatoes and ground turkey. DH needs to go back into work this evening and told me dinner I am on my own so a pot pie went into the oven.
The Road to California Quilt Show was wonderful. Sometimes I felt like a celebrity with people asking me where my quilt was located. It was lots of fun!
