SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, Jan 19th
Good Morning!
We are at our usual 39* and damp with rain moving in later today. Will my feet ever be warm again?? I'd rather be 20* colder but dry and sunny.
I didn't get much sewing done yesterday as we spent most of the day with my DB and SIL. A nurse was at their house for about 3 hours introducing them to a new med for his Parkinson's. It's given by injection and only lasts for 3 hrs in his system, but if the claims are correct, it could greatly increase his quality of life. After that we went out for a very late lunch them so we could all talk it over. the nurse comes back on Wed and he gets his first dose. We can't wait to see how it affects him.
CHICKIE - poor Doyal! He's missing out on so much good stuff! Our favorite foods are Italian and Mexican! What big project is out on your sewing room work table right now?
CAROL - I bet you are getting excited about the quilt show! In the infamous words of Cindy G - "BOING!!"
JANA - we are rooting for the Broncos, too. They are our last hope! If it's a Patriots/Panthers game, I personally will have to go with the Panthers. No Patriot fans in Washington!!
CHICKIE - you can always toss a few pepper flakes into your burger or whatever you are making. I use them, albeit sparingly, in a lot of recipes. I feel for your DSIL who has lost two football teams now. I know how I felt when the Sonics left Seattle - and I don't even like basketball!
IRISH - are you saying you want us to pray for snow for you? 'Cuz we can do that! How nice that your DGS just drops in! Never happens here. Our DGSs live 30 miles away and their lives are full. They are 18 and 22. Glad you heard from Lady Carol, but saddened to hear she hasn't been feeling well. I hope she just caught a mild case of flu from her man and nothing too serious.
BECCA - pinto beans and cornbread sound like my childhood comfort food! I liked my beans over boiled potatoes. Yum! I hope you are feeling a bit better. .. .
Well, our day morphed out of our control yesterday so once again, my cabbage rolls didn't happen. Perhaps tonite. That's my aim, at least. and a big salad on the side. We have veggies that aren't getting any younger.
Hope your supper is tasty, no matter what it is or where you eat it!

Good morning! I’m working on my LQS BOM and trying to catch up on it because the borders and finishing pack come out in February. There are a bunch of pieced stars for borders, so still a lot of work to complete. I’m REALLY trying to work on one thing at a time… Still, yesterday I shortened two pair of overalls for DH.
Poor DH will be getting tamales, tamale pie or tacos this evening with the carne asada. I cooked it all day in the crock pot and shredded it before I went to bed last night. It is yummy! We had American hamburgers last night. They were delicious, but I really like Mexican and Italian. I can throw salsa or marinara on anything I eat and be happy!
So… how often will your DB need an injection? Did you obtain any free-cheap-reasonable help with the cost?
I wonder if my SIL will burn his Rams shirts??? He will probably give them to DH to wear to work on the farm. He’s pretty much mad at the Rams.
We are expecting freezing precipitation today… a great day for being inside!
Have a super day!!!

Good early afternoon from sunny but very cold (13) SW. Pa...Yes, Mary, I would rather have the snow than these frigid temps...With lots of snow, everyone would be snowed in but with just the cold, "silly" people think they should go to work and school......
Mary, sure hoping and praying for good results with the new meds..Every day, there are things being discovered and 1 of these days, all bad things will be history....AND, just the other day, I believe it was on Tins's FB page, they were showing how a fellow with Parkinson's, couldn't walk alone but got on a bike and had no shakes...They then showed a fellow who had gone for a long ride and was fine, on the bike...Now they're trying to figure out how this happens....It was very interesting....My cabbage rolls are very basic, gr. meat, chopped onion, rice, salt and pepper and a little tomato soup, mix it up, roll them up and top with the remaining soup....I guess you could add just about anything you want, but I'm simple (in more ways than 1, lol).....
Chickie, with weather like you're having, it is best to stay inside. And it sounds like you have lots to keep you busy, inside....I don't even like poking my nose out side to check on our feral, Jake....And speaking of Jake, he looks like a bear with his layers and layers of heavy long fur....He's gorgeous and I so wish I could get him tamed enough to bring him inside...
Today was changing the bed with the help of BabyGirl..I keep a container of treats on the dresser and that's how I get her to move off the bed for awhile...Also, finished putting all the extra "kids" blankets back in the cubby hole, until the next visit and packed up a huge box of stuff for Goodwill.......
As for dinner, might be Swedish meatballs and noodles, another meal in a box....Our DS, Terry in N. C. got his box and last night he had steak, tonight he's making "mac n cheese" filets and tomorrow, he and Nick are having Lemon chicken....
Happy eating..........
Stay warm, stay safe.............

Mary, I hope and pray this new med works for your brother.
Chickie, one thing that Frankie about gags on is salmon patties, he smothers them in Picante Sauce. He says I make them just like his mom used to and he didn't like them then. The goofy guy didn't tell me he didn't like them for years, he just smothered them and ate them LOL I'm nicer now, I don't fix them for him. If I fix them I'll do it when he has a training school thing where they feed him so he doesn't suffer.....see I'm nice LOL
Irish, it's been crazy temps here lately too, down in the teens and our pellet stove motor burned up Sunday night so we're not very warm inside but thankfully the temps are in the 30's this week and the low 60's in the day. Our motor should be here by Friday.
I don't know what's for supper tonight. It's Tuesday and we can go watch Pretty Little Liars at DD's and have supper or I can do some laundry and cook for us here. Dad is having his knee replacement surgery at 7:30am and I'm going to be there for that. I'm just very undecided at the moment.
