SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 16th
Good rainy morning!
It looks like we are going to be having heavy rain for the next 36 hours so if you are east of us - and who isn't?! - batten down your hatches. It's coming your way!
JANA - I seem to have a lot of unusual problems with the computer and I ask Bill about it, and he looks confused and says, "I've never seen anyone do that before." I don't know if he's learning anything from me or not! lol!
TINA - All your Mexican meals sound so yummy! And I agree - it can't be just us that is having problems with Windows 10. My sister says it is evil! And she capitalized the word 'evil'! lol!
IRISH - We sure have had problems removing our '10', but Bill says it shouldn't be that hard for most folks. Getting a new computer won't work because new ones come with it already installed. I already tried suggesting that. I'm so happy Harriet is so happy.
CHICKIE - the national news looks like you are bordering on a deep freeze. I told Bill you wouldn't be happy about that! I love forsythia! Our neighbor has (had) a huge bush that was a glorious golden cloud every spring and in full view from all our front windows. But she has Huntington's disease which affects the thought processes in the brain. One day about 6 months ago she decided all her shrubs were too much work and she pulled her rhodies out with her car and took a machete to the forsythia and hacked it down. It's all laying there on the ground still. so I'm wondering if that bush will survive and bloom again.
BECCA - I hope you are feeling better today.
We are kind of in a holding pattern here. Not much happening and it's too cold and wet to do much but stay inside and sew. Fortunately I'm well-stocked there with things to do! I have Lara's Thanksgiving quilt top nearly together. Hope to finish it this weekend. I have a few more projects I'd like to get done before my sewing room gets turned into a guest room come Jan 29th. Life will pick up the pace quite a bit after that.
Supper last night ended up being burgers so tonite will be stuffed pork chops. I'll add a salad and maybe corn. I have rolls still in the freezer so those will come out, too.
What's to story on your menu for tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 16th
Good morning,
Mary - I still create problems on the computer - when something doesn't look right, first words I yell is Michael! He has connected my computer and his together, so he can access mine and fix it. Such a good guy!
We have a church meeting tonight at 6, and it is 2 hours ling, so will pick up some Fresh Mex from a place named Costa Vida. Tomorrow is another session of Stake Conference for church. Ethan will be sitting with us, as Sarah is singing in the choir and also on another piece accompanying the choir on the flute. Her DH is singing too. Should be interesting as Ethan has never seen his mom play the flute. He has been to many other where she sings.
Enjoy the games! I am rooting for the Packers and the Chiefs - that would be a great Superbowl.
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Saturday, Jan 16th
Good afternoon from a very dreary, soggy, SW. Pa...It rained during the night and today, we're to get some snow.....I'm like Mary, lots to do inside and don't have to worry about getting wet or cold, outside.....
Mary, I too, love forsythia and have 2 huge bushes that, right now, really do need trimmed but I won't let Jim near any of my bushes, when he's carrying the clippers....Forsythia seem to be a very hardy plant and I'll bet your neighbor's bush will come back...Years ago, my Mom had a plant that looked like forsythia and smelled just like cloves...I've never been able to find them....Stuffed pork chops would be a treat for Jim, especially the stuffing.....
Today is odds and ends day and probably not really accomplishing a whole lot....I am finally changing the bathroom from summery pink to my winter green...I started out with an all Irish bathroom, shamrocks stenciled around the border and everything green but then I papered and I'm back to pink in the summer, green in the winter...I love to be able to change rooms.....Years ago, Jim was working evening shift and I changed the bedroom...He came home, went to sit on the bed and sat right on the floor...He's always worried I'm really going to change the bathroom around, lol....
Not much thought to our dinner except, I think the local fireman are having a hoagie sale and if they are, that's dinner...If not (and the sale might be tomorrow), tonight will be something from the freezer...You know, one of those mystery dishes that you forgot to label...I like to keep Jim guessing.....But, the big news, the baker is back and there will be cinnamon rolls in the oven shortly....Also like to keep Jim happy............
Happy eating.........
Stay warm, stay safe.....

Mary, I agree with your sister, it's pure EVIL!
Jana, I bet Ethan will love seeing his mom play the flute
Irish, LOL I bet that would really surprise anyone....having the furniture moved LOL I say leave the bathroom un-moved
We're going to split a little steak tonight for supper and a sweet potato and if more food is needed we have salad.

Good afternoon!
Mary—REALLY!!! A deep freeze!!! No! I am not happy!!! Actually, it could be worse, we might be in it instead of bordering. We are forecast for a high of 25 tomorrow and a night low of 12. It could be so much worse! Oh, that’s terrible about your neighbor and her shrubs! Poor thing, poor shrubs!!! The forsythia likes to be pruned, but with a machete??? Maybe not so much.
Irish—guess it’s a really good thing you can’t change ALL of the bathroom!!! Too funny! I thought I was going to keep my DH happy for more than a day with the pecan bars, but I came home from Mom’s today, and the pan was in the sink… empty!
Jana—I’ll be by for Mex! My DD played flute in HS and college band. I doubt she has picked it up since.
Dinner here tonight will be the rest of the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy and a salad. Mom was delighted that I brought her some today. We had salads for lunch, and she ate all the “goodies—fried chicken, etc” and left greens for her salad for her dinner. She was doing well today. I shampooed and set her hair for her while my sister is out of town.
I have a bit of time, so I think I will head for my sewing room!
