SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Dec 2nd

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Dec 02, 2015 3:06 am

Good Morning!

We've warmed up and might even hit 50* this week, but with the warm comes the rain. It actually FEELS warmer when it's 35* and sunny.

JANA - Congratulations on the new baby! A real bummer to get a hand injury in the middle of baby and Christmas sewing! Hoping it heals quckly. Do you have a silvadene ointment?

TINA - a pot of beans and ham sounds tasty to me! I like them spooned over boiled potatoes, too,

BECCA - hope your weather turns around soon! That's too bad that they got your DH's glasses wrong. So many errors in business today. Worse when it's the health business!

I got the house decorated yesterday and cleaned! Whoo Hoo! I have a massage later this morning and I plan to R-E-L-A-X. I think I'll get a quilt, cat, book, and a cuppa, and spend a few hours in front of the Christmas tree vegging on the couch and let that massage sink in. The benefits last longer that way.

As for supper - it will be a repeat I think - Siracha chicken and Mexican rice. Though, if DH wants, I could make up a Mexican soup with the leftovers, I suppose. He does love soup!

Has anyone started any holiday cooking or baking? I am considering making some peanut butter fudge soon to mail.

Mary--wasn't it you who didn't know what sriracha was not too long ago? your chicken sounds delicious, of course--love the heat!!! I have massage envy! Soup sounds divine!!!

I'm still wanting to do decorated sugar cookies, and I'm hopeful I'll have time to spend a few days on them. Candy would also be delicious! Like I need any of either of them, but... 'tis the season (for making me fatter!)!

Enjoy!

Good early afternoon from a very dreary, damp, chilly, SW. Pa...For sure this is a good day to stay inside and sew....Which, I'm doing....

My "dear" sister called Monday night and asked if I wanted to do a little shopping and then lunch...Well, gee whiz, twist my arm just a little more....She picked me up, we shopped and then had a great lunch...Now, the kicker, she also had fabric to give me to make her son some curtains...So, those will be done today....But, she also had good and bad news..She's going to be GGram again...The bad news, she has to have kind of an emergency colonostopy (sp) and the doctor is getting her ready for bad results although he saw no tumors...But, thinks she might end up with the bag...She hasn't told anyone and wants me to be with her...Not good anytime but right now???? And tomorrow is my day with the "slicer and dicer" for my MOHs...I keep telling him, it's going to be nothing and 1 stitch will do..Always have told him, he should quilt, his stitches are so tiny and purrrrfect......

Other than making curtains, that's it for the day.....As far as dinner, sure hope something pops into the head soon....This could be a night for soup and sandwich...............

Happy eating...................

Good afternoon,

Well, almost finished with decorating. I am not doing the tree right now as it sits under the great room lights and will need to be moved to change out the lights. Sarah is coming to do the garland, lights, and ornaments for the staircase. I will finished up the other tree in the front room, where my Dickens Village lives. Humm, may need a new building to add to the set.......tee-hee.....

I need to change laundry now. Dinner - the house is well stocked so I will see what is in the freezer. Tomorrow night is the Ward Christmas party. I was asked to bring a soup. It will be clam chowder and the other one I will bring is my sausage tortellini soup. Should be lots of fun.

Irish - lots of prayers for your family!

Better get going,
More fun here, than uglies!

Mary and Becca, your suppers sound good to me :-) leftovers and soup or the soupy leftovers LOL :-)
Chickie, I want you to make decorated sugar cookies too :-)
Irish, I think our heads have the same problem, nothing is popping in to mine either. I hope and pray your Sis will get good news instead.
We have to go tonight and get a battery for Holly's suburban, hers was so dead this morning that it wouldn't even click click. I'm glad Frankie is a mechanic :-) Oh I have a funny story to tell you all :-) DS; Kevin invited his girlfriend over the day after Thanksgiving and her mom had her drive her car because it gets better gas mileage than her truck does, which is nice :-) anyway her moms car has something wrong with it and when you stop and shut it off you have to open the hood and jiggle the battery cables for it to start again, Maria (the GF) said that wasn't fun when she has to fill it up to come over here because it was raining and freezing cold. I told her Frankie would look at it for her....she didn't really say anything but let Kevin drive it around to the garage....Frankie is over there with the hood up doing things when I walked out there and poor Maria had the most worried look on her face! I went and stood by her and she was so worried looking.....I asked her if she knew what Frankie did for a living.....she said no....I told her he's a mechanic LOL her face went into the biggest smile! LOL it was so funny! I told her that he knows what he's doing and she was like a light bulb, so bright and happy again :-) and yes he fixed her moms car and Kevin helped him :-)
I still have no idea what I'm fixing for supper ;-)
