SUPPER CLUB - Thursday, Nov 12

Post by purrfect-lady » Thu Nov 12, 2015 3:55 am

Good Morning!

we are expecting some rain and wind later today. Not a good combo for those of us who live directly beneath a giant, rotten, leaning tree. I will be spending this storm at the other end of the house in my sewing room. Not sure it will help me much though if the tree does come down. Our house is 40' long and the tree is about 150' tall. I think this could become a 'story problem' as well as a host of other problems for us. :/

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHICKIE!! Better freeze that potato soup because I think Doyal should take you out to dinner! We know a nice little Italian restaurant in a nearby town . . . . I know your mom will love her walker caddy. And when I think of her, I always picture her with purple batik fabric! Purrfect!

TINA - I know you've been sick, too, with allergy-driven migraines, and hope you are able to stagger to the table and let us know how you are doing.

BECCA - And you are getting a new DGGB today! Will keep fingers crossed for a safe delivery and a healthy everybody!

IRISH - since I can't be there to 'dose' you, I'm here, drinking hot whiskey and honey in your honor. You know, to cyber-soothe your throat. Just for you, you understand. Never touch it for myself. ;o]

JANA - did you get the quilt finished? What is it like? My SIL, Terry, who made the Dr. Who quilt last spring, also has a grandson, Tanner, and she is working on a quilt for him, too, but isn't quite so fast as you are.

Tonite? Hmmmm . . . . I did find my meatloaf in the freezer and could make that with potatoes, corn, and salad, Or it could be chicken. I will let DH decide when he's up and had his coffee. I find he hates it when I wake him up to ask him what he wants for supper!

Bon appetit` and may all our supper friends be well soon!

Good morning,

Tanner's quilt is what I call "quick and dirty". Simple rail fence in blue, orange, yellow, green and brown. Colors inspired by the backing piece - cars and trucks. He loves cars and trucks. I just quilted it with a meander.

Michael did dinner last night - tacos. I really need to go grocery shopping, we are starting to be short of things. A soup sounds like a good idea.

Irish - get well quick! I miss your escapades of Frick and Frack.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! Thank you for all the good wishes!

MaryZ—I’d go out… you know my favorite menu is anything I don’t have to cook, but I think it will be pork chops. I’m making cooked cabbage for me—crazy, but I love the stuff! DH will have a baked potato. I’ll also make some fried apples. I decided to make a birthday cake—probably the first I’ve ever made for me. A pineapple upside cake was calling my name after seeing one in a magazine. I couldn’t get it out of my mind. It bakes as I type. I couldn’t leave it alone, so I added coconut to the crushed pineapple, then for flavoring… rum. Viva la piña colada cake! It’s 5:00 somewhere!!! I even added some maraschino cherries for the cocktail garnish.

Tina—suppa sounds delicious!!! Have some for me! Hope your head feels better!

Jana—a quick and dirty quilt is a finished quilt and a loved quilt—perfect!!! I know what you mean about need to be shopping…

My sister texted me this morning that Mom was doing ever so much better today. So glad to hear that!!! She does like purple and the batiks. Her phone fits perfect in the pocket I made for it.

Enjoy!
