SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Nov 9th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Nov 09, 2015 4:06 am

Good morning!

We had a surprise thunderstorm last night! Uncommon for here. At first we thought it was Fort Lewis holding their war games. Our fur kids were not happy!

I think, after three trips to the store, I've finally gathered up everything I need to make that salsa! Wait! I forgot jars! I'm going to give these away as gifts and I want to use nice new jars. Besides, the jars I have were my mother's and I don't fancy giving those up! so I guess it's off to find some pint jars someplace. THEN I'll make salsa!

JANA - I bet the kids made great progress this weekend settling into their new home!

BECCA - I always pull up maples and firs! lol! but a pine would have place of honor in our yard! How nice of your friends to bring a cheesecake to share!

CHICKIE - you were so busy this weekend slicing and dicing! Wouldn't mind a bit if you swung through my kithen and did the same here for my salsa!

Well, our meatloaf morphed into ham at my brother's house last night. And Jim asked me to bring a strawberry rhubarb pie. Which surprised me. His wife is the pie queen and doesn't really appreciate anyone else vying for the crown. And I haven't made a rhubarb pie in 35 years! People I marry don't seem to like them. But it turned out pretty good! At least I liked it! And the crust was flaky. But no rave reviews from anyone else! lol! Guess I'll have pie for breakfast!

Tonite, that meatloaf will finally make it's way to our plates. Along with twice-baked potatoes and salad. and maybe a veggie.

Hope whatever supper is at your house that the reviews are all good!

Good morning!

Mary - your storm is heading my way - rain, possibly turning to snow later. It will snow tomorrow. Our temps are really dropping.

Our dinner morphed too. We ate leftovers from my brunch, so the pork chops will be tonight.

I have 2 loads of dishes running and two more waiting. I got rid of all of Sarah's science experiments in the refrigerator. She cooks too much and saves them for lunch and never takes them. This means I get back all my tupperware! Next I will start my laundry and get back that room. My poor washer and dryer are always in use - Kate and Aaron come on the weekends to do their laundry, all of Sarah's until her new ones arrive and mine! But I love it, having them around.

Time to go,
Enjoy,
Jana
