SUPPER CLUB - Tues, June 30th
Good morning,
It looks like we won't have to cancel our Alaska trip due to my knee/back problems. Whoo Hoo! I'm getting 5 P.T. appts, a massage, and some exercises to do every day while on the road. We're delaying our trip 3 days so I can get in on more round of P.T. (and so we can miss the heavy Seattle traffic.) We're happy, my P.T. is happy, and our travel friends who are going with us are happy.
JANA - your salad sound uber-yummy, but WAAAY too much work for lazy me! I guess you'll just have to add my name to your guest list!
VELDA - pizza is always OK with me! As long as you hold the anchovies, I'm in!
IRISH - wishing your friend's son a speedy recovery with no lasting effects from his encounter with the shark. Do they know what kind of shark? As for Nicky's upcoming visit, as long as you are stocked with ingredients (and i'm sure you will be!) it will be a good visit! Did you say he wants to be a chef? Or does he just enjoy cooking?
TINA - when my eyes get heavy, there is no fighting them. I always give in. Especially when you've been sick. I Googled croup in adults. It's uncommon, but possible. But adults usually don't get the breathing difficulties that the little kids do. Just the cough. Hope you are all on the mend soon!
BECCA - there is too much yummy stuff at your house. I'd have to pack elastic pants if I came to one of your family 'dos'!
CHICKIE - know you're out there somewhere. Hope it's in the sewing room, and not out stacking wood in 90* heat.
LADY CAROL - How is Sir doing?
Tonite - chicken on the grill for us. and I think I'll make up a potato/onion/cheese packet, too, and pop on there. and a salad. The chicken is pre-seasoned (Siracha) from Costco.
Whether you're having grilling weather or hearty chili weather, I hope your supper is delicious!

Good morning, Mary! So good to hear your trip will be just a little late and not cancelled! The massage would make it all o.k.! Now you know what Sriracha is—spicy!!! Your chicken sounds wonderful! And the sides!
Irish—I need to go back and read! Hope everything is all good with your friend’s son! What a scary ordeal. This is the summer that 45 years ago “Jaws” hit the big screen. Two of my friends from work and I drove 100 miles to see it (on a work night) on a bigger screen and so we didn’t have to wait for it to come to our small town. I was afraid to get in the bath tub after seeing it! Have fun with Nicky—my DGD likes cooking, so it’s always a good time, and we eat well.
No, I wasn’t in the sewing room… unfortunately… DH noticed some ripe wild blackberries yesterday… I now have the scratches and chigger bites to show for going out and spending too many hours in the hot sun with NO breeze whatsoever. I MAY, MIGHT, POSSIBLY have enough berries for another batch of jam. It was a royal waste of my time, but DH and blackberries… (Sigh!) I am really missing my sewing room! I’m on grand dog and great grand dog duty for a couple of days. I was up and out this morning for the grand dogs, later will be the great grand dog… Tomorrow I’ll be on “Mom Duty” for almost a week.
I have burger, so I’m thinking maybe a meatloaf. I also have some baked beans and potato salad and some corn… Guess that’s dinner here!
Enjoy!

Mary, I'm so happy that your trip is just a little delayed and not cancelled altogether! I'm really looking forward to your trip
detailed information
I bet it's beautiful up there! And what an extra treat for the RBR to be going on when you're there! Happy you're feeling better too! Thanks for googleing for me
I'm just uncommon I guess LOL but unfortunately I get the trouble breathing from my COPD which hadn't bothered me for a little over a year and a half. I have the bronchitis COPD and I think that's what wipes me out, I cough and can't get enough breath back, totally exhausts me, but I'm getting better
it just takes me a little extra time. My eyelids won yesterday LOL actually a couple times LOL only for about 15 minutes at a time though
Today is Tuesday so no cooking for me
we're going to watch Pretty Little Liars and DD is cooking. She had a migraine yesterday and I told her she didn't need to worry about feeding us tonight but she said she was feeling better. For some strange reason the women with Remondini blood have awful migraines when they're pregnant! It's really weird. I had migraines up until I had my hysterectomy but never when I was pregnant.
Chickie, I hope no more blackberries are found for your sake
Tina

Good Evening All.....todays weather...hot...hot...hot....not often I am able to say that......weather man has promised the heatwave will last at least until the week end......
Mary....Sir is feeling much better now thanks.....but I did get a lot of knitting done.......I think he had done a bit too much in the garden in the heat......
Now a brief run down of "the" holiday....it wasn't exactly uneventful......
we did a lot....and I do mean a lot of walking.....I got lots of blisters.....on the bottoms of my feet.....trip(s) to the chemist...
then I developed a "blocked" ear.....sounded like I was in an echo chamber.....we was told in the hotel we would have to pay for translators if we needed to see a doctor.....now we had an ECHC card and holiday insurance....could hardly see the insurance company paying out for translator....so I braved it out.....
the Spainish Air Traffic Controllers had a"go slow" strike 4 days of the week....goody goody.....not on the day we were due to fly home......guess what.....ours was the only flight that was delayed by 2 1/2 hours.....then to add to the excitement.....we had an aborted landing.....and had to fly around in very large circle before the pilot was able to try again.....think we had a new boy up front......
however.....the hotel was lovely....the weather was glorious....the food was plentiful.....did a lot of knitting while Sir got in his swimming(I cant swim.....but I can knit) Sir goes back in October for the "lads Week end" its the lad in our caravan club.....they go every year....and us ladies get a few quiet days to do our own thing....
so on to todays menu......Baked Ham Salad with New Potatoes....Fruit Salad and Cream for afters

Good afternoon,
Late today - anyone guess my dinner? Oh so right, leftovers! Tomorrow is the day Stu leaves, so after the kiss and drop off, we will have a picnic up one of the near by canyons. Sarah and I will have the boys stop off at a couple of quilt shops and get their row by row patterns, while we are in that area.
Really, my Cafe Rio is not that hard to make, but y'all are always invited to come and enjoy them with me - and oh, the trouble we will get into!
Enjoy,
Jana

I made a batch of jam, and now I need to mix up the meatloaf. It's way too hot for much of anything today. The dogs and I walked down to let Ava out, and by the time we three made it home all our tongues were dragging the dusty road. Summer is just starting. This may be a long one! No more wild blackberry picking! The birds can have them!!! I will gather the "tame" ones so no scratches. Of course, chiggers are everywhere--the curse of summer! Not much I can do about them.

Hey y'all, Just checked and saw comments about chiggers. We have them down here and call them red bugs. Our solution is spray your skin with Off replellant then put your clothes and socks on. Spray your jeans before putting on water boots. As soon as you get home, strip down and put those clothes in the washer and wipe down with rubbing alcohol especially the warm places and shower. My heart goes out to all the chigger/red bug victims, Abita
