SUPPER CLUB - Sun, June 14th
Good Morning!
I had good plans to get a lot accomplished yesterday, but when our friends called and asked to come over, it was easy to tell all the weeds and uglies to take a hike! We sat for almost 4 hours making plans for our Alaska trip. DH and I usually travel day by day, making decisions as they come up. But our friends had just decided the night before to go with us and she is a planner down to your last nerve. So we compromised and made reservations for some of the must-sees - like Denali and a few other places - and the rest of the trip will be by the seat of our pants. So no uglies and no yard work for me! And not today either!
BECCA - we love black beans here. I have a recipe for black bean enchiladas that we like. I should make them one of these days . . .
IRISH - yep - we got the truck back and DH says it drives better than it ever has! (it's a 2004) This time the bill ended up at $800, but put with the $1200 from last week, and it's a hefty expense - especially for a repair that we just had done in CA!
TINA - your supper sounded just like our Friday supper. Except for the Watergate Salad. Is that a 'thing'? My sister said she was bringing it to our RV Rally potluck and I thought she was just being a smarty-alec and it was her take on Waldorf Salad - them both being big famous hotels.
JANA - glad you said not to panic when you talked about Father's Day, but you were too late! I was already in full panic mode! lol! I have a card in the trailer, ready to give to my hubby, but had to stop and think about it!
HELEN - you have a laundry lady? how cool! Does she come to your place to do the wash or does she take it away?
Well, no cooking again tonite! But today, I'll be in the kitchen making a big veggie tray and my low-fat horseradish dip. Also, a big pasta salad. It's Party Day for our graduate, and we're doing his 18th birthday at the same time. So DD made these requests of me. I'm happy to be involved! There will be 40 people there, I'm told. i don't think I know 40 people, but I guess they do!
I hope you're not feeding 40 people tonite!

Mary, I
at your "down to your last nerve". Watergate salad is made from Pistachio instant pudding, the recipe is on the box
Well hopefully it's going to be just me and Frankie today and I won't have to cook and clean the kitchen all ding dong day so I can sew! Supper will be cleaning out the fridge, this will be the last day for that opportunity so if it doesn't get done today then it's getting thrown away.

Good morning,
Mary - I am a sort of planner - Michael is lets just go! Denali looks beautiful - one of these days I may get to see Alaska.
Dinner - I don't know this early - what we eat or who will be here to eat with us.
Tonight is the Eagle Court of Honor and yesterday I baked 18 dozen cookies. We are expecting around 75 people. It is over at the church. Crenda and Sandee are baking some cookies too.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon!
DGD made waffles for brunch today. Yesterday she made broccoli beef, rice and won tons with dipping sauce. There are re-runs tonight, but we will add orange chicken and chow mein. She also made a cake with fondant decorations. We’re having so much fun, and DH is enjoying all the delightful meals.
We had lunch with Mom yesterday. I picked up some delicious chicken, strawberry, pineapple, blueberry, almonds, spinach and lettuce salads with poppy seed dressing packets from Braum’s. She really enjoyed getting to see DGD’s sewing kit she requested and we are putting together.
I’d like to thank everyone again for looking at the blog post that featured Mom. My sister printed it and took it to her. Was she ever surprised and so pleased that you all would be interested in her—someone you had never met. Thank you for making her happy!
Father’s Day—brunch here on the back porch. This time I’ll have help cooking!
MaryZ—we used to make Watergate salad a lot. I haven’t had it in some time. So sorry about the truck repair$! Still it’s better than on the road in the middle of nowhere and requiring a wrecker.
Becca—DGD is working on a jelly roll quilt now. We didn’t get any sewing done yesterday. She’s the only sewer I have, so I cherish her!
Jana—enjoy the court of honor! Congratulations to Stu!!!
Tina—I didn’t know the recipe was on the box. I thought it was a staple in church ladies’ cook books.
Off to my sewing room to join DGD. I have laundry going and need to clean the floors a bit, but maybe I’ll take a break in awhile and do it.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Sun, June 14th
Good afternoon and a very Happy Flag Day from sunny, warm, SW. Pa...We had a little rain earlier but now the sun is back and it's another summer day...............
Today is kind of a sad day for me...This would have been Chris's 58th birthday and I've been doing too much thinking and crying...Today's early Mass was for Chris and then onto breakfast with our friends and surprisingly, no complaining...Then home to watch the Pirate-Phillie game....Later I'm going to take a ride to the cemetery and have a visit with Chris...Lately, it seems it doesn't take too much for me to get teary, I just miss him so much.....I'll always remember how, when he was younger, he thought everyone was flying their flags because it was his birthday....He was indeed special!
I had a call this morning from Kathy and she and her DH were away again for the weekend...They try to plan a get away almost every other weekend and I know she's loving every minute of it..I've decided, my next life is going to be like her's, lol.....
Mary, so glad the truck is running "good as new"....Really hard to put out those $$$ but better than needing to buy a new one....You really have been having a fun couple of days, haven't you....One party after the other...As we've said, it's good to be you!
Becca, I too have been wondering about our Lady Carol....Sure hope, whatever she's doing is fun....I also laughed at Mary not knowing that many people...I just kind of stopped counting although we haven't had any new babies in the last year but do have 2 weddings coming up....
Chickie, just wanted to say, how much I enjoyed reading about your Mom....What a great lady! You are so fortunate to still have her...
I'm thinking for our dinner, either hot dogs or hamburgers (Omaha) on the grill and of course a nice big salad....I did break down and baked 2 pumpkin pies last night...One for Jim and the other for DGS, Dan.....So my guys are happy campers.......
Happy eating...............
