Supper club, June 8th, Monday........I think!

Post by Irishgram » Mon Jun 08, 2015 7:42 am

Well, here it is afternoon and where oh where is our Mary????
I have a feeling Mary is still worn out from the heat wave they're having in her area....Probably find her on the deck with a cold drink in her hand and a fur baby by her side......Maybe her "staff" will be making her dinner......I always did say, it's good to be Mary.....

But, here in SW. Pa., we having a warm, was sunny, day...They, you know those in the know, are calling for storms to hit around 3:00 with high winds and all that good stuff...
Jim just finished mowing again and said, he had a few sprinkles but I'm thinking the rain has moved on.....

I made up my mind, this was painting day and just finished giving the kitchen windows their 2nd coat...When I say windows, I mean the frames, not my new windows...I had stained, wooden frames and now they are white....Love, love them, makes the kitchen so much brighter....I still need to do the frame for the storm door but that's another day.....

Becca, how is that foot doing? Sure hope you get relief from the pain....But, this might be a sign for you to sit on your porch and rest....Just saying......

The spaghetti and meat balls that was supposed to hit the table the other night will finally make an appearance....I put everything in the crock pot and it did it's thing while I was painting..Just hope it tastes as good as it smells....A salad and garlic bread should complete the meal...Don't think we need afters but do still have some zucchini bread (with lots of raisins).....

So, what's happening in your kitchen????

Happy eating...............

Nothing is happening in my kitchen yet. No one has bothered to say what they want to eat. Typical in this house.

Good afternoon everyone, been s cloudy with showers day here, sun peeps out then rain.

Mary z is probably tied up with truck repairs. She posted on sew ins about it.

Irish I never eat spicy foods.I have studied on line & read books about it.Think mine is due to B Pressure med.I do not usually have it but once a year. This time was worse.I have been on porch this afternoon. It is better today.

Lori Maybe you will get inspired later. Some days is hard to come up with menu.

DH has been down all day.Was not very hungry. It is chicken breast , black eyed peas, & salad.....Becca

Irish, I agree, it's good to be Mary ;o) I need "staff" to get me supper sometimes but for some reason "staff" ignores me LOL You supper sounds delish! Mmmmmmmmmm
Lori, I often wish there was a recipe for "I don't know or I don't care" would make it so much easier :o)

I haven't even thought about supper, oh my goodness LOL It's so hot I think we really shouldn't need to eat. :o) Except Frankie's pants are falling off him as it is, he gets this way every Summer, can't keep any meat on this man. Wish I could share mine with him LOL That would solve both our problems! :o) it's 100* with 20% humidity right now, at 9 this morning it was 80* with 50% humidity, not nice at all.
I might do pork chops on the grill and a nice salad. I don't want to do any cooking in the house if I can help it :o)

Here I am! Thanks, Irish, for setting the table. I had to follow Bill into Tacoma this morning, back to the Dodge dealer. We picked up our truck Sat afternoon after a $1200 repair, but it's not right. so back it went. And he wanted to get it there as soon as they opened which meant we were on the road at my posting time. The rest of the day has been frittered away, wrapping BD and Grad gifts, filling bobbins, puttering in our trailer. And now I am, indded, sitting on our deck, enjoying our heat wave - 81* at 1:30 am. I was going through a tote we found in the shop of my son's things and there was his baby book. I spent a good half-hour going through that. Can it really have been 40 years???

Irish, the thought of painting anything but my nails right now poops me out! I guess I squandered all my energy the last few weeks. I was considering making some tablerumners for my girls and the thought of that right now is too much. So I'm simply vegging!

Lori, it's rare that anyone speaks up here, either, unless I ask. And when I ask, I'm not really caring what they actually want as much as I'm saying, "Give me an idea!!"

Supper tonite will be a big old chef's salad with cold chicken, kidney beans, thawed peas, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, and cucumber. Topped with blue cheese dressing. Can't wait for 5pm!

Mary, I wonder if I could get away with just a salad? 100* is so HOT!
I hope they get your truck fixed! I'm surprised you had as many miles on it as you did with it not being fixed right in the first place. I hope it's not more money.....

Good afternoon!

Thanks for setting the table, Irish.

Nothing new on the dinner table, same as last night, turkey and trimmings. I am supposing that Sarah and gang will be here - it was her turkey - I just cooked it.

Been hiding in the Batt Cave - almost caught up on past project - the diaper bag - she had the baby, a little boy last Friday. Named him Hudson. They like car names, Mercedes, Bentley, Savannah, Shelby and now Hudson.

Time to finish, just need to put in the linjng.

Enjoy,
Jana

So mine isn't the only household looking for the recipe for I don't care or I don't know. I'm thinking maybe someone needs to actually make some dish and call it one of those. I do get tired of the same old stuff so any idea would be nice. I have promised calzones one day this week.
