SUPPER CLUB - Wed, June 3rd
Good morning!
I had such fun at the LQS sale yesterday! The prices there are always about 20% below other shops, so when she has a 40% off sale on everything in the store, you can bet I stock up! I bought Creams, whites, flannels, Christmas, Civil War, and 'misc'. I felt like Scrooge MacDuck rolling around in his money bin!
TINA - so sorry you were feeling under par yesterday. I hope today is a better day for you. You can't waste one of your 75 DAYS!!! being sick!
JANA - sitting on your deck to grill and eat with that view sounds ideal to me!
IRISH - you should have stopped by - our meatloaf did happen and it "wasn't too crappy", to quote one of my BIL's favorite 'compliments'. We finally ate the last of our sweet potato. I couldn't believe that one potato fed the two of us for 3 nights! And nice, sweet, and tender, too. I took care of babies in the NICU smaller than that yam!!
JOANNE - how wonderful to have your DGD's come to clean for you!
BECCA - you DO need a gardener! So do I! Maybe we could get one (or two! guys and share!
Today I have no chores to do so I'm going to try to fit yesterday's haul into my fabric cabinet and get some travel projects together for this summer. I started to do that a few weeks ago, but was waiting for the sale to pick up the rest of the fabrics I needed. now. Today will be FUN.
As for supper, I'd like to go to the Mexican restaurant near us, but I think I spent all our eating out money for months to come - so we're having spaghetti, with the leftover meatloaf diced and tossed into the sauce. And a salad. DH has already given his stamp of approval, so no surprise changes!
What's the menu plan at your house tonite?

Good Morning!.
Maryz..what a wonderful shopping extravaganza!..the ONLY kind of shopping I truly enjoy!..
I know what you mean about spending the "eating out money" on fabric needs..I need some border, sashing and backing fabric in the days to come..so there will not be much eating out around here ..but truth is we rarely do anyhow
For dinner tonight we are having my papa over and I am making DH's favorite..frikkadeller (ground pork (I don't use veal) meatballs..DH's Mamma was Danish and this is the very first thing she taught me to make for DH) mash potatoes and probably a salad..Dessert will be fresh strawberry short cake..
Everyone have a great day..Happy Eating!...Sonya.

Good morning!
Mary - what a fun trip! I am getting fabric fever and can' t wait until Sarah is in her new home - then I can go and spend money again!
Dinner last night was very good, won't tell you because I would be banned! LOL
Got lots of yummies to grill - so I am putting on a rack of ribs to go with the veggies for tonight - out on the deck. We have a new mama goat with her twins in the corral we overlook - entertainment with dinner!
Enjoy!

Good morning from a semi sunny, getting slightly warmer, SW. Pa...At least we're moving in the right direction but did have another flannel pj night.....
Mary, I have visions of you running around that store like a possessed woman and no one better get in your way! But, look at the haul you made...What a great shopping day.....
Tina, I agree, can't be wasting vacation days, feel better quickly....
Not much exciting happening in this neck of the woods...We have 2 funeral home visits to do today and both funerals are planned for tomorrow morning, at the same time...Other than that, I'm not doing anything.....
AND what am I thinking, I do have exciting news...One of our grandson's got engaged over the weekend...This is our #1 son's son...Haven't heard when their wedding will be, just hope they don't plan for the same as Cari's, lol.....It's been awhile and now we have 2 weddings, yikes........
As far as dinner, there is some left over stew and I had baked a small apple/walnut cake, so we'll have that for afters....Now those plans could change if our visiting happens to run close to the dinner hour....You know how my car has a mind of it's own.........
Happy eating...............

Hi Y'all. How 'bout that, I am back in here early enough to catch most of you.
I had quite an experience with my new fabric when I went to start pressing and cutting. Oops!! I learned a lesson: Always, check out the fat quarters before you pay!!! One of mine was sooooo far off, ugh!!
I am making a table runner for myself, so I am just cutting my squares a little smaller. But, I know now that I need to be more careful!!
I am planning grilled chicken tonight. Want to add a little bit of BBQ sauce at the end. Will add a salad, potato, and vegi of course.
Hope you all enjoy your day. I know I will!!!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Wed, June 3rd
Good afternoon! My plan to stay in my sewing room except for going down to let Ava out for her “duties” changed when DH came home from coffee for brunch. We loaded up the lawn mowers (push-type) and headed for town. We mowed a rental so the city wouldn’t send us nastygrams. I was paid with a cherry limeade sherbet cone at Braum’s. (I’m cheap labor.) Tomorrow I’ll really collect my pay when I go to the LQS for my BOM.
Last night we had taco salad. I have a little stuff left from it, and I’ll have it. DH will have some steak he had left from Monday eve. I’m sure I can come up with some sides…
I thought we were super hot today… it sure feels like it when you are mowing or walking. We are “only” 84 with a heat index of 87… not much breeze.
Irish—what do you mean, “not much happening”?... weddings!!! So sorry about the funerals… that’s happenings but just not so happy. I wish I would find my truck somewhere other than in my front yard at dinner hour!!!
Vel--I've had that happen, too. They try to save money and squeeze out a couple extra FQs and make a couple of bucks, but they lose ALL my business when it happens. I ordered some fabric (need to find out where it was from again), and they had generously given 4" on a yard and 2" on half yard. I e-mailed them and told them how pleasantly surprised I was.
I’m going to go try to cool down some more… I’m having a snack of frozen fruit pieces… next I’ll go try to cut out the baby bibs. I was so pleased with the prototype I did yesterday.
Enjoy!

I got all excited at the grocery store - I saw a can of Hatch's green chile enchilada sauce and remembrred you tell us about them. So I bought a can to try! Made with Hatch chiles from Albuquerque!
