SUPPER CLUB - Monday, June 1st
Good Morning!
Our warm, sunny weather has turned on us. We woke up to clouds, chill, and breezes. Rain is on its way. And our weather generally moves eastward when it's done with us. Sorry about that.
We finished all our work here! Yay! I even had time to come inside and clean up the entire house and make some pizza! Then DH and I sat by the campfire last night for a few hours. Bllissful relaxation after a few weeks of hard labor. Now today, all that's left (for me, anyway) is a medium mountain of dirties. Mr. Maytag will be humming shortly.
JANA - I hope all your running lately will make you skinny. But it's not worked that way for me! I hopped on the scale this morning expecting to have dropped maybe a pound or two after all my hard work and I GAINED 3!! I'm buying a new scale today!
IRISH - what a fun family breakfast! But there was lots of excited chatter. Glad you are so happy with all your windows! So now you're going to go buy things to cover them up? Makes sense to me!
JO - so did you make it a hat trick and go to Mama's again last night? lol!
TINA - we're chilling down rapidly here from 80* a couple of days ago, but I think I'd rather have tomorrow's predicted 60* than your 90*! I hope you get some rain.
CHICKIE - sorry for your floors, but I know when you look into that Tinkerbell's sweet face, it's hard to stay frustrated! She is such a sweetie! your cherry cobbler sounds delish! You could serve it over ice cream instead of the other way around . . . .
Last night we had homemade Hawaiian pizza and corn on the cob. Plenty left for tonite, even if Bill gets into it for lunch. So supper is ready! I guess, other than keeping an eye on Mr. Maytage and Bill's dainties, I get to sew all I want today! On a project(s) yet to be named.
What's the meal plan for you and yours tonite?

Mary sounds like you deserve a whole month of playing in your sewing room
Chickie, your cobbler sounds delish!
I've got stew meat thawing, I'll add green Chile, onions, garlic and maybe tomatoes plus a salad.
We're to be 95* today, sigh Summer has stomped Spring out. It was nice while it lasted though
and we did have a longer Spring weather than normal.

Good early afternoon from a very chilly, overcast, yucky, SW. Pa....Yep, yesterday's hot, humid weather has moved on and it's back to the sweat shirts....AND, just on Sat. I took off the electric blanket and my very thin flannel sheet, darn! But, I didn't make the mistake of packing away my flannel Pjs......
So, Mary, you're not the only one with the yucky weather and as far as you weather moving east, maybe it will get half way and go somewhere else.....You must really be feeling pretty good about yourself, getting so much accomplished...That's a feat and a half and you really do deserve a lot of cotton time.....
I'm half way done with covering up the windows, lol...Couldn't find the sheers I wanted so settled for the mini blinds, for now....But, my windows go up and down, yeah!
Really not sure about dinner...It might be meat loaf and baked potatoes and a veggie...With it being chilly, I need something to heat up the house, lol......
Happy eating...............

Hello everyone, Cloudy here & temps are lower.Love it & maybe some rain hopefully.
Today is my DSs Birthday. He is 52 & I still think of him as my baby. They never cease being your child.
Mary z I never stop learning on the supper club.I had never heard of kohlrabi .I looked it up..Here we grow broccoli ,turnips, cabbage & beets but never your veggie,May try it one year.
Chickie Your cobbler sounds relish. And I do not even like cherries but oh the blackberry ones.Yum.Know your sweet little doggy does make tracks but they love in return.
Tina Are you vacating today? Enjoy your Summer.DD has 9 left.
Irish Know those new windows are nice.We replaced ours about 4 yrs ago.
We have to go shopping for new bedroom furniture. Our DS is taking the set that was his Grandpas. It is a solid wood suite & I am sure what we find will not compare to it.But we do not care.We do not want to pay top price so we will see how we come out. After being in Furniture Business for 40 + yrs it's hard to go shopping.
We are having sautéed chicken breast over brown rice & broccoli........Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, June 1st
No cooking tonight. We are going out for Pizza. Our local Monical's has a Monday night special that we enjoy.
I finished my strip quilt top for donating to our church yesterday. I worked on my outside projects today. Fresh new mulch for around our electric box and around the front of our storage shed. Looks so nice and fresh and clean.
I have my flower pots all planted, too. I chose geraniums this year with a nice spike in the center. Found some allisium, too and put a couple in each pot. That will add a little lacey white to the big red geraniums. I love planting flowers. I have some perennials around each of the two trees on our site. Those come up each year by themselves. All I have to do is try and control the weeds. LOL
Sounds like everyone is so busy this time of year with cleaning and yard work. However, we always find time to eat.... right?
Hugs

PS: Today, I saw a first: I had two yellow finches feeding at my hummingbird feeder. I have never had that happen before. Took a picture so I can prove that it really happened.

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, June 1st
Good afternoon,
The car pulled a Irish, pulled into Mickey D's and brought home a surprise to Ethan. He calls it his "ham-a-burger store". So very late lunch, so, will see what is leftover in the refrig for a little something later.
The family was here until late last night, eating ice cream sundaes. So my kitchen needs help!
Off to de-uglify!
Enjoy,
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Monday, June 1st
I am so late here... Dinner is over. I grilled steaks for DH and his sister, and I had a grilled portabello mushroom. Sides were salad and baked sweet potatoes. Of course, there was cherry cobbler for dessert. SIL left, and I came in and cleaned up the kitchen and did the dishes. It was a long day.
I can't get mad at Tinker Bell. She can't help her big, furry feet that trap the grit. Those eyes get me every time! She really is a sweetheart. I cleaned floors this morning before SIL arrived and then I made brunch... a Dutch baby pancake with apples and maple sausage inside.
Enjoy your evening!
