SUPPER CLUB - Sat, May 30th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat May 30, 2015 3:07 am

Happy Weekend! Though since few of us are workers, I guess the cache` of the weekend has worn off a bit!

We worked hard in our shop yesterday. Way up on the highest storage shelves we found 5 big bins of stuff that belongs to the kids - mostly Autumn. Plus her set of dishes (service for 12!) and silverware (16!) that I bought her for her hope chest 25 years ago. Guess our truck will be filled to the brim when we go to Texas in January.

TINA - I'm not sure what a "Soncho" is, but I'd like to hear more . . . lol!!

JANA - your supper plan for last night sounded awesome! You brought back a happy memory. When the kids were little, we often packed a picnic supper and went to a nearby county park and their dad would meet us there after work. No trains though. :o(

BECCA - nice that you have a neighbor willing to share his garden! You made me think of Peter Rabbit sneaking into Farmer MacGregor's carrot patch!

IRISH - thank you!! xoxo

JOANNE - sounds too hot for me to cook, too!

TINA - you lay-about! Get workin', Girl!! You think you're on vacation or something?? lol! Seriously, you deserved a dinner out! And here I'd gone ahead and had a glass of wine for you - just in case . . .

Today will be more cleaning in the shop, but the hardest part is done. Whew! I did get an hour in the sewing room and I hope at least for that today. Not working on anything special right now, but just playing around with ideas.

I'm at a loss for supper tonite. It's going to be about 76* today, so we might grill chicken again. I have a meatloaf in the freezer, but we're cooling off and getting rainy in a few days and I'm saving the meatloaf for then, with baked potatoes and salad. Maybe pizza would be good for tonite . . . Even though it involves the oven, we'll be sitting outside so that will be OK. And a salad. Ok, got it! Pizza it is!

What's on your menu for tonite?

LOL Mary, that's a man on the side LOL when Frankie comes home early he tells me "tell Soncho he can go home" LOL
I had a nice glass of wine last night but thanks for covering for me anyway ;-) I know I get sidetracked sometimes, glad to know you have my back :-)
WOW I told you you'd find treasure! :-)
Since we didn't grill last night then that's the plan for tonight, hope it's not too windy.

Good morning,

Tina - here his name is George! LOL

Mary - the rafters? My oh my, we will keep him away from Michael - Michael is driving me nuts with his organizing! I will be glad when it is done. He even added some stuff to my kitchen! As soon as he is not looking, I will fix it back to my way!

Dinner is the BBQ Grad Party. We have a ton of food - everyone on Sarah's in law side said they were coming, and now are not! Should not be too upset, they do this all the time. There is plenty, so y'all come!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good, almost afternoon from sunny, warm, maybe showers later, SW. Pa....What can I say, another purrrfect day!

Mary, I thought of you all day, yesterday...To have gone through so much and...Oh well, you know, you're kind of special.....That's funny about finding the dishes and silverware...I had given Kathy my "good" stuff along with my Mom's silverware and when she was doing all her moving, it ended up back here...Well, guess what, it's still here and she's in Reno.....I might just pack it up and give it to Cari.....

Tina, so funny about Soncho....I agree with Mary, you did deserve a dinner out...And to go along with the festivities, I also had a glass of wine for you....Don't know about you, but it sure made me feel better......Enjoy those days off......

I heard there's a party going on at Jana's, lots of food, good company....What do you think, get the bus gassed up, we're going to Jana's.........

Not much happening in this household, I think the 2 of us have had it for the week, lol....Just a few little uglies and that's it...Well, another bag of 2 of mulch and then that's it!
I heard from Cari and she and her fellow are in town...This is the weekend we'll see if her dad coughs up any bucks for the wedding..He has money to burn but when it comes to his family, he's broke! But, maybe he's "changed".....So, tomorrow's breakfast will be a big, happy gathering....

But, if I have to stay home, it might be a pizza night here or hot dogs on the grill.....And if that doesn't suit, that bag of popcorn is real handy......

Happy eating...............

I know I am dropping in very late. Some days I don't even get back on the computer to post here.

I put supper in my crock pot at 10am this morning - Slow Cooker Pork.
I don't remember if I got the recipe off Facebook or where it came from, but it has been a favorite of ours.

Bought a 2lb pork roast. Boneless, sirloin, I think it was called.
Saute onions and garlic. Mix sauce of lite sodium soy sauce, yellow mustard, maple syrup, and a Tlb of olive oil.
Brown or sire both sides of the meat in the same pan that you sauted the onions and garlic. Put in crock pot and pour the sauce over the top and cook on low for 6 hours. Just checked it and it is falling apart GOOD!!!! We will serve it tonight on buns and I will fix a salad - maybe potato chips on the side.

We are headed out to dancing tonight, so I don't want a lot of dishes in the sink. LOL

It's been a rainy funny day. One minute it rains, then the sun is out, been doing that all day long. Got my flowers planted in my pots in between showers. So glad to have that task finished. The new plants are getting lots of water from "Mother Nature"

Have a great night.
