SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, May 26th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue May 26, 2015 2:37 am

Good Morning!

Back to the real world this morning - which is much like my weekend world. That's the problem with retirement - never a day off!

I spent most of the weekend cleaning, polishing, scrubbing everything in our bedroom that didn't get out of the way. Then purged dresser drawers and closets, washed clothes, ironed, got out the summer cothes, and now I'm exhausted, but happy it's done. Whenever I do this kind of cleaning, our room is the last place on the list and by the time I've worked my way in there, I'm tired and it usually gets a pretty slip-shod going over. So I caught up on lost cleanings!

TINA - your forgot your glass of wine AGAIN?? It's almost like you're not even trying! lol!

BECCA - Glad you are getting some nice walking weather!

CHICKIE - I remember, too, when Mem. Day was May 30th. Did you get all those cattle worked? So, what is "working" with them? We always had about 6-12 head when I was growing up. Your operation is much bigger!

JANA - I just can believe little Stu is all grown up and will be leaving soon! Does he have a plan yet, for when his mission is completed?

I also have Jane almost binded. (bound? bounded?) Another 1-1/2 hours of TV and she'll be finished! I'm going to take her to our RV Rally in Oregon in June because my sister is coming from Colorado just to visit us at the rally and she's been watching Janey grow for 4 winters now. I want to let her see the finished quilt. Then it's going up on my display wall at home.

Supper - the nightly question. We're eaten so much chicken in the past 5 days that we're starting to clubk. We had burgers last night. And that's all that's in the freezer. Though we could grill some polish sausage. I do have that. I have leftover potato salad and beans to go with. That's probably our plan.

What's your plan?

Good morning,

Mary - yes, Stu will attend college -probably Utah State. He wants to be a engineer like his grandpa and uncle. This two years will fly by quickly.

I have my girls this afternoon, so it will be take out tonight.

Off to start Stu's quilt. He will bring Ethan down late this morning. Stu is done with school - graduation ceremony is Saturday.

Enjoy,

Good morning from overcast, dreary but warm, SW. Pa....I guess every once in awhile, you have to have a "non" sunny day.....
It's a good day to be sewing but my contractor has taken over the upstairs...One of these days we might be done but then I'm sure I can find another project....

We did finish the flowers yesterday but ran out of mulch..Also got my garden planted, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and green beans...I'm trying to fake out the deer and put the green beans in the middle of the plot, maybe they won't find them as easily..And I'm putting up a higher fence...Knowing them, they'll figure out how to open the gate....

Mary, as tired as you are, it's a good feeling knowing that big job is done...What bothers me, it doesn't stay cleaned up, at least in this house...Don't know how 2 little fur babies can make such a mess, lol......

Jana, boy, you're right about the years flying by...Seems the kids were just babies and next thing you know, you're watching them graduate...Love it when kids want to be engineers...
When Cari was in HS, she told the guidance dept. she wanted to be an engineer and they actually told her, GIRLS aren't engineers...Here was a girl, top in all her classes, to be told that! Well, she graduated, top in her class both at HS and college and works for a nationally known company, doing what she always wanted to do.....When kids have a dream, they should follow that dream....Good for Stu, he has the right kind of family support and he'll go far.....

Well, now that I've stalled, still can't come up with an idea for dinner...We didn't have chicken last night so maybe that's what might make it to the table...It's still too early for me to make those decisions, lol........I even have to think about baking something and that might be cinnamon rolls.(really don't have to think too long on that one).....

Happy eating................

Mary, you always make my day start out with a chuckle :o) You're so funny! :o) I want you to know I was really trying LOL sadly I poured my nice glass of wine last night and it was bad :o( guess I wasn't drinking it fast enough LOL After I had that taste I didn't open a fresh bottle.....maybe I should save 1 for Friday night to celebrate my Summer break? hehehe ;o) I think it calls for a bottle of Plum Loco ;o) so I can be too hehehe
Hmmmmmmm supper supper supper, I should have a roulette wheels and spin it and make what comes up :o) I like that idea! At least that way I'd have someone tells me what to make! I think it's time for banned food ha and we have 2 corn on the cobs we can grill and Frankie has potato salad left and we have slaw and salad too.....guess I just figured "what's for supper" here :o)

Good afternoon! Dinner here… may throw steak at DH and finish the chicken soup for me. Too early yet to decide…

MaryZ—working cattle: ear tags for keeping flys off, wormer spray, vaccinations for various stuff to keep the herd healthy (we don’t do routine antibiotics—simply grass fed beef here!), making the little bulls into steers, identification ear tags for the calves and replacements if cows lost theirs, inspections for the cows… Actually, we just have 23 cows and 19 calves. DS1 will be bringing over the bulls to visit our girls…

Jana—congratulations to Stu… I’m amazed, too, that he’s grown up so quickly! Best wishes to him!!!

Becca—No one would ever confuse me with Suzi Homemaker when it comes to cleaning. There are more fulfilling things in life than cleaning as far as I’m concerned.

Tina—Plum Loco sounds delightful… what a great name! Oh, that sounds good—maybe I’ll go drop a line and try to catch some dinner. Don’t tell Mary!

Irish—we are having a sunny day! Who-hoo!!! Seems like it had been a very long time since we had sun. We saw two rabbits in the watermelon patch yesterday afternoon. They love green beans, too! We don’t try to grow them any more. Deer jump fences! Good luck to you!!!

My floors are calling for a sweep, then I can check out my sewing room… haven’t been there in a few days.

Well, Earl is manning the grill right now! Pork chops, potatoes and onions, and a vegetable blend...all on the grill!

We're due for some rain/storms later...about 7pm. Had some yesterday, too. Hot and muggy....yuck!

Gosh Irish, I'd LOVE some cinnamon rolls......!!
