SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, May 24th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat May 23, 2015 4:29 pm

Happy Sunday!

I'm a little early for Sunday morning, but it's to make up for being so late on Friday. I used to work with a man who was always 1/2 late for work each morning. So he usually left 1/2 hour early in the evening to, as he said, make up for being late in the morning!

CHICKIE - baked is our favorite way to have sweet potatoes! And we're talking sweet potatoes, here, not yams - right?

IRISH - wow! Your work schedule yesterday made me have to go lie down - after a glass of wine, of course. you must have been pooped by day's end!

BECCA - I hope that tendonitis clears up soon. I feel bad when I quilt if you're not quilting, too!

JANA - happy birthday to your DDIL4. Is that Kate? We got to meet her a few years ago! Tell her HB from us!

I have half of the binding sewn on Jane. Hope to finish that and then spend a few evenings in front of the TV hand=sewing that binding on. Then you won't have be be hearing about Crazy Jane any more!

We did have our chicken taco salad last night and it was yummo! but we STILL have leftover chicken. maybe I'll make some chicken chili mac. That should take care of the rest of it.

I hope something tasty is taking care of your eating needs tonite!

Well darn, I was going to have a glass of wine and forgot! LOL we had burgers and salad, I had burgersalad hehe and I've been craving a cookie lately, I found a recipe on Facebook for Healthy cookies and made a batch and I like em! So we had afters too which we usually don't :-) these will last a while, it made 2 dozen.
Mary, looking forward to seeing DJ, I hope you don't stop talking about her, she's a work of art, not to mention I know all the work you put in her. Are you going to enter her in a fair or quilt show? I think you should. :-)
I'll probably be back later :-)

I have, still a terrible sweet tooth having lost 110# since 2004. Generally do not buy sweets, as I will eat then all, practically at once.

The weather here in Denver metro area reminds me of my years in UK. From (Feb.5,1960-Feb. 5. 1963)lived there - Well, it was not all bad weather wise, new marriage, (married 1/31/60) was about as bad. But, I still loved being there at age 20. Took the good with the bad. The bad went away - divorce- 3 years after our only child, a daughter was born = 1975.

Well dear friends, and I do mean friends, I missed you all terribly when I stayed off computer due to CFIDS. Your prayers are really helping me, and I am so great full. SO prayers are going to out to all of you today and daily. Gob Bless.

Helen Oh, rain, cold, and fog are still here. Did have a few minutes of sunshine yesterday. Think I might have to trade in car for a boat. HA. In South Dakota, where I am from and taught until 2005, we always get rain in May and hail. In 2008 we had hail as big as a loaf of bread in some parts of Rapid City. Never had seen this likes of this before. Mtns., still getting snow and it is melting and saturating the grounds, and we have had flood warnings almost daily. Thankfully, I do not live too near a river, well probably closer than I might want, as the Platte River is about over its banks. I live in the tallest building in my area. BYE FOR NOW! Have a blessed day. HUGS Helen

Good morning,

Mary - yes it is Kate's BD. She old now - 22 -LOL

Dinner - I know I know! Pot roast, potatoes, gravy, veggie, homemade rolls and chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. Oh yes, ice cream too.

It is clouding up with big gray thunderheads building, it will be raining in the late afternoon. This weather pattern usually starts the first of August, so Iit Iis way early - we are joking about braking out the ark jokes and that we will just skip summer - nooooo!

Enjoy,
Jana

Good early afternoon from sunny and getting warmer, Sw. Pa...Looks like another or getting to be a purrrfect day here in the east....

Mary, You know, we all are anxiously awaiting the unveiling of DJ..That's one of those quilts that I've dreamed about but could never, ever begin to make..But, then most of your quilts are that way...You do have a special talent....And surprisingly, this gardening stuff isn't making me too tired....I really don't have a green thumb but lately, I sure do have dirty finger nails, lol....Almost had to paint my stubby nails just to go to church...

Becca, I think living in this part of the country and seeing all our different plants and flowers really gets you in the mood....At one time, Chris's wife, Kathy, worked at a nursery and she was forever bringing home different flowers...She has a special touch and her house and garden look like pictures from a magazine....
A tomato sandwich, now you're talking...That is summer living! Hope those nasty aches and pains go visit someone else...Not wishing any ill on anyone else but you've had enough.....

Tina, I want to know how anyone could forget that glass of wine! Now you have to have 2 to make up for it, right????At least have 1 for me..

We went to early Mass and then on to breakfast and if was great....The other Jim from breakfast had had heart surgery the day after Easter and we hadn't been together until today...We sure had a lot to catch up on....Then back home, to read the paper and fall asleep, lol.....
Even though this is Sunday, I'm going to work in the yard...More mulch to throw, nuggets to put under some shrubs and I still have my porch boxes to plant.....Bright and early tomorrow, my contractor will be back to do some more "messing up" but in a good way....I just keep thinking, when he's done, then I have more painting that will need done....

As far as dinner, I'm thinking ham, macaroni salad and store bought cookies for afters.......We'll save those burgers and dogs for tomorrow.....

Happy eating......................
