SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, May 21st
Good morning! We're supposed to go to 75* today but for now, we have 52* and fog. But I have faith in our weatherman!
JOANNE - now that you mention it - I think I heard somewhere that Riker was a cousin to the Hough's. and he kind of looks like them, too . . . he sure is talented, that's for sure! I usually have pots of flowers all over our deck and front porch, too. But since we're going to be gone this summer for 2 months, I figured there was little point. Besides, since we put a roof on our deck, there's not much sunlight for the flowers. I'm cheating and have green silk plans now.
IRISH - I've never watched survivor. Do they ever let overweight people play? Every ad I see for the show has everyone in itsy bitsy teen weenie bikini's! I used to go to a chiropractor, but they just 'snap' you back into place, and you can 'snap' back out again quickly. with massage, all my parts and pieces reassemble slowly (not to mention much more pleasantly!) and tend to stay in place longer. No one is more surprised than I to find myself getting regular massages! lol!
CHICKIE - poor Doyal and his watermelon patch! Will it ever grow, he is probably wondering. But like you, I wouldn't be rushing that heat!
GENERAL LADY CAROL***** - whew! That's a handful to type! I never realized you were so windy over there. Or is this unusual for you? Now with Chickie, we'd be surprised if she DIDN'T have wind, being Kansas and all. But I always figured you to be in a quiet, green pastural setting.
BECCA - well, if you ever do get to WA, put me on your list! That hanging basket must be huge! What flowers are in it?
JANA - hope the lightening didn't get you! We rarely have T-storms here but when we do I unplug all our electronics, even our coffeemaker. Our neighbor lost her computer and Tv to a power surge so I'm extra careful - especially with my sewing machine and The Quiltinator!
TINA - so what form did your hamburger take?
VELDA - How was the play? What part did your DGD play? It was Sleeping Beauty, right? so exciting to see kids' plays. I miss that.
Today I'm mailing my Chaos quilt off to Autumn in Texas and then FINALLY picking up my new glasses. Again. I never made it yesterday. The excitement here today is that DH is, even as I type, loading my Crazy Jane onto the frame! Four long years and here we are!! I'm fairly tingling with excitement!! I'll be quilting this one myself!
For supper, we are having our friend, Tex, over. His wife is out of town and the mouse is playing! We're going to grill some pre-seasoned chicken breasts from Costco, asparagus, and zucchini. I also have some brown rice, gluten-free pasta to make as a side dish. Tex is on the Paleo diet and I try to keep close to that when feeding him. We'll also have a salad so no one should go hungry. No bread and no afters. Just maybe a sip or two of wine. ;o}
How's things coming along in your kitchen tonite?

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, May 21st
Good morning,
That storm blew through quickly. I have everything on surge protectors - all the computers, tv's, and sewing machines, and Robin, the LA. All the power lines are underground, so if we get a ground strike, it usually hits the sub-station down the road or the church steeple.
We picked up Aaron from the train, and got his text books - we buy those for college and they came to dinner - hamburgers. I got a extra big package of hamburger - the little voice went off - glad I did. Sarah and company showed up just as we finished and she then fed her family. Now I am doing the disaster clean up!
Tonight I have a corned beef to cook. We will see how it comes out - I have never frozen one before - so we shall see.
Cloudy, but bright. As usual, wait until this afternoon, thunderstorms wilk be back.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from very dreary, cool, Sw. Pa...It's probably warmer out than it looks but I'm not going out to see...Jim wanted to finish the mowing but it's still too wet, so couple flats of flowers and tons of mulch will have to wait until tomorrow....
Not really too much happening, a few uglies and that's about it...I might just have to pick up my cross stitching along with a cup of tea and enjoy my afternoon......
Tonight I'm going to the last card party of the spring so I'll be "out among em" as Jim would say....
Mary, your dinner sounds delish...I had heard the Paleo diet mentioned but what is it? And you did take pictures of your quilt before you packed it up, didn't you?
As far as dinner, I'm not cooking, lol....Since I'm going out, I'll be eating very well but I'll make sure Jim has something to fill his tummy...Wonder if he'd like that bag of popcorn, lol......
Oh well, I'm going to see what kind of trouble I can get into, or get to that cross stitching.....
Happy eating.................

Good afternoon! I’ve been doing yard work and floors. Need to finish the floors… break time! We are perfect here—about 70 degrees, partly sunny and just a touch of breeze. At these temps, the humidity isn’t a problem. The sun felt good after several days without its making an appearance.
MaryZ—the only time we have green pastoral settings with no wind is miserable with the heat and humidity. The wind is there for a reason… I could do with a little less of all three!
I have those expensive electronics surge protectors on all the “good stuff”… TVs, computer, sewing machine. I need ones for the refrigerator and my stove electronics.
I have chicken breasts in the crockpot with some tomatoes and salsa. I have shredded it and took the lid off. I’m hoping to cook off some of the liquid. If it doesn’t condense, I’m thinking of chicken taco soup rather than chicken tacos. I can add some veggies and beans. I think I have too many tomatoes in it to suit DH unless it has veggies in it.
Guess break is over and I need to get to the floors… the sooner they are done, the quicker I can find my sewing room…
Enjoy!
