Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and enjoyed family. I didn't see any family, but texted my kids, had breakfast with my brother, and talked to my sister. And killed a lot of weeds!!

TINA - hooray for not cooking yesterday! Good on Frankie!

JO - how sweet that you had Mother's Day supper delivered to you, hot and tasty! Earl has a sweet daughter! My DIL did that for me one year. It was meatloaf, too. I can still taste it! Better than any meatloaf I've ever made!

BECCA - can't wait to hear what is in your package! I hope it's slippers! Or fabric. Or kittens.

JUDI - welcome to Supper Club! All those invitations! Were they in cahoots? what fun! By my count, you have 1 DD and 3 DS's. Are you going to visit the 'away' son or is he coming to see you?

SONYA - glad you had a nice day even if your boys were unable to visit.

VINAE - what a feast, indeed! And a fun day! Were you at your your cabin?

JANA - well since you did so well with your talk yesterday, you deserve a reward so I'll let this one flagrant disregard of Supper Club Rule #1 slip by. Just for you. Just this once.

Today will be a hodge podge of things for me - uglies, laundry, and sewing. It's drizzly this morning, so I don't think yard work is going to happen. OK by me! Supper will be a pre-mixed frozen meatloaf, baked potatoes, carrots, and salad. It's already DH approved!

Good morning from, yet another gorgeous, sunny, warm, Sw. Pa....This is sounding like a recording but I'm lovin' it......We did have some rain over night and this morning but now, sun is shinning brightly and the grass has grown a foot tall....
Jim thinks he can hold off a few days to mow again but I'll bet a nickel, as soon as it gets dry, he'll be out there....I did order an electric, smaller, mower and that should be coming today or tomorrow...Not sure if it was a good idea or not, might mean I have to take a turn in using the thing.....

Mary, your Mother's day sounded like a good one...Not sure the weeds felt that way but so be it.....Did you find your breakfast was crowded? We had to wait in line only to find our waitress was off...But, it was breakfast out!

Our day was nice and relaxed....Cookout at Kevin's and then calls from all the rest and the grands...Cari called with more wedding plans, Jackie called to tell me she only has 22 more days of teaching this year, the rest were mostly checking in...Years ago, Kathy had been driving by a certain restaurant and the ad out front said, "Your Mother called and wants a Strawberry pie".....Well, she whipped that car into the lot and brought me a fresh strawberry pie...That's been a tradition every year so this year, she called Dan and he was the bearer of goodies..This really has to be my all time favorite pie...(Guess what I had for breakfast?).....

I think I'm extending Mother's Day another day...Just had a call to go to lunch and then tonight, I'm meeting friends at a card party....So, I have a feeling, I won't be cooking.....But, I will be eating good and not to worry, Jim will be taken care of...I might have to hide the rest of my pie but I'll make sure he eats......

Mary - thank you for my pardon. Tonight we will be good - patty melts with turkey burger.

Just a uglie Monday and a trip to Salt Lake. We have to buy tickets for Stu's graduation in a couple of weeks. Graduation is taking place up at the University of Utah - they charge the high school to rent the hall - so we pay! Only the parents and grandparents are going - everyone else is getting the party ready at Matt's.

Well everything in the house beeps or ding a lings - they are all going right now!

I, too, had a great day yesterday! We had 20 for brunch. Shelly brought me a pink coffee cup with a chalk board front on it, and she’d written “Happy Mother’s Day to the best mom ever!” It came in a cute little bag from JoAnn’s with sewing notions on it. I’ll enjoy taking it for more fabric or to deliver goodies to Mom. The DDILs gave me a lovely hanging basket of burnt-orange colored petunias. It looks beautiful hanging by the porch.

Last night we had a few of the brunch left overs … too tired to cook!

Tonight… I have to go find something to thaw and cook. I might do a meatloaf and baked potatoes with some green beans. Anything easy! Reservations would be better, but that’s not happening… No place to go.

I have a little Baltimore oriole outside my sewing room window wanting to come in and help me sew. He’s running up and down the sill on the picture window and chirping “let me in, let me in.” He needs to be smart like the female and drink and eat from my oriole feeders.

Hi everyone.

This is my challenge week. Need to find things to fix that I have no left overs . We have to take our TV to the body shop next Monday, so any things left in the frig will go into a cooler and go with us to our son's house for 10 days to two weeks.

Yesterday, friends asked us to join them going out to dinner for Mother's Day. We went to TGI Friday's. I am loving that place. It was a good idea that our friends had, to go about 3PM. In between lunch and dinner crowd. We did not have to wait to be seated. Enjoyed the visit with friends and a good meal.

So today, I am fixing the menu I had planned for yesterday: Smoked sausage, fried potatoes, salad, and corn for our vegi.

I will probably have leftovers for tomorrow night. That will mean that I will have to make a grocery list for the rest of the week. Might have a couple of night of eating out for less cooking this week.

Irish, yummy strawberry pie! I'm all for extending Mother's day another day, you go girl!
Well I'm back to the real world today LOL sorting laundry to do, watering, cleaned up the kitchen, watching Easton etc etc etc.....

I have cube steak thawing for supper, I'll chop up onions, green Chile and tomatoes with garlic to pour over the top and then a salad for sure, not sure if anything else will join

Hello everyone,A busy bunch today and chatty.

We had a good day .Our little DGD in WA fractured her wrist and had to go to ER.Not a good Mothers Day present.She is 5 yrs.

I picked my turnip greens early this morn and cooked them.Will add fried potato cakes,& baked beans.....Becca

Good Evening All.....no rain....but.....blowing a gale.....would have been a nice drying day.....if the laundry had only stayed on the whirly.....instead of the grass.....

OK.....so I was missing over the week end.....got a good excuse though....busy giving the old knitting needles a good going over.....almost done Willows first cardi....2 more to go...

and another great grandson is due to put in an appearance within the next 2 or 3 weeks....must finish off his quilt and get it posted....if anyone knows where to buy extra time....I could be in the market for some.....

todays menu.....Roasted Pork Strips.....Creamed Potatoes...Carrots and Cabbage.....Coffee Ice Cream for afters.....
