SUPPER CLUB - Sat, April 11th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Apr 11, 2015 4:58 am

Good Rainy morning! Looks like a sewing day here. Except right now, there is nothing to sew. After toting a big box of of small pieces of fabric around the country for almost 4 yrs for my friend, Jane, it's now time to empty it out and 'scrap' the smaller pieces and tuck the bigger bits back into their "mother" piece of fabric. Of course, this entails a lot of trimming the scraps and straightening up my fabric shelves. Slow going, but relaxing as I just listen to my book on tape and get "in the zone". Maybe today I'll finish it . . . But probably not.

My Riley hasn't come back. I suspect she's gone over that Rainbow Bridge, as Chickie called it. And when Foxy was out that same night, too, I'd like to think he was with her, holding her paw. Yesterday he was extra affectionate and stayed close to me all day. Today, he acts like he's king of all he surveys. My SIL, ever the comforting angel, said, "Well you have one cat and a dog. Isn't that enough?" My DB just turned his head and gave her a wordless look that said, "Do you know who you're talking to here??" lol! My SIL does not like cats. How she ever got hooked up with our family, I'll never know because even Daddy was a cat-lover!

CHICKIE - let me get this straight - your DH licks his lips over rats, squirrels, rabbits and other vermin, but you have to hide the fact that he's eating an uncommon grain?? LOL! I'm so glad that he's not in charge of meals when we visit you! BTW, congrats on #17! Catchy name, too! What color?

IRISH - wish I could have seen you out stylin' in your jacket! Glad it suits! I wore mine the day before! For those who are wondering about our jackets, we have matching denim jackets with brightly colored cats appliqued on them. Too bad we can't get together and really make a show of ourselves strutting our stuff down the street!

LADY CAROL - so is your new position of general laborer a PROmotion for you or a DEmotion? Perhaps it's a 'lateral move'. I'm sure your garden is looking "luverly" but hope you don't have the achies too badly!

JANA - it's been my experience that while the pros are 'in-house' any project moves along swiftly, but when it comes to the last finishing touches and my DH says, I'll do that, I ask him 6 months later, "When?" he says, "quit nagging me!". I wish you luck.

BECCA - anything with lima beans and you can count me in!! I love them! But I don't get them too often because DH does NOT love them. at all.

TINA - what a lot of hard work you've been doing! OUCH! So where are all these stones going? Now I can feel my back tightening up after reading your post! I hope you have a heating pad! lol! I need to go get mine out now.

Tonite's supper is still a mystery. I might have lentils over rice, though DH will wrinkle his nose at that. I might also have polenta parmesan, but he'll wrinkle his nose at that, too. Maybe it will just be plain old spaghetti. That will make his tummy smile.

Hope your tummy is smiling, whatever you feed it tonite.

Good morning, almost noon, from sunny, getting warmer, SW. Pa...From what I'm hearing, we're in for some great weather...And I'm hoping to take advantage of it...
The "spring like" bathroom stuff is on the line outside as well as the summer kitchen curtains...I looked for new ones, couldn't find any that was nicer than what I had so the old ones will have to do....

Mary, I feel bad about Riley but that is their way...We've had several ferals, ones that actually lived on our porch and then all of a sudden, you know they're gone...I also like to think, Foxy was with Riley, holding her paw....it breaks your heart to have one go...You know, any more, when one of the kids bring in a new fellow or galfriend, we ask if they like cats and if they're allergic, make sure they take something....
Oh, Jim just reminded me, make sure you check your mail, Mon. or Tuesday.....And some day, we will strut down the street in our finery.....

Carol, with all the outdoor work you've been doing, you've earned some quilty time, all by yourself...I'd even throw in some "off the cooker" time but Sir might get upset with that...But, I'll bet you have something gorgeous to look at...Mine is a lot of weeds, so far....

I think our dinner might be a mystery also...The only thing left is ham and if we eat much more, one of us might start oinking...I think, it's headed for the freezer and tonight might be, dial up Pizza Hut!

Happy eating.............

Good Afternoon all,

MARYZ The model is D-105 we think.Without a book or mower we may be wrong. It is that or 125.Sounds as though your Kitty is gone.Animals have such a sense when something goes wrong.MARY do like I do make his & her dinners. He doesn't eat most things I eat.I used to not do it but changed when children grew up.

IRISH I could never get tired of Ham but hardly ever eat it.BPressure.So eat some for me.

CAROL Goodness you have too many promotions & not the right kind.LOL Hope you can rest soon.

TINA My back too is hurting. That is a lot of lifting. You must be doing a lot of spurcing up.

DH has beef leftover.I will make him some rice. For me roasted asparagus& carrots, fresh strawberries.DH has s'mores....Becca

Good afternoon,

I have company for dinner - something will have to inspire me when I head over to the store.

We are overcast, but still the sun is shining through. Warm too.

Enjoy,
Jana

Well last night was the forbidden food so tonight will be the burgers on the grill and salad :-)
Mary, remember the east side of the house where you hooked up your quad, that side gate? That's where these stepping stones will be making a walkway, right in front of my big flower bed.
yep, I have a heating pad but it was too warm in the house to use one and we had half the windows open all night. Tylenol is my friend ;-) I want my backyard to get finished so bad it isn't even funny, it's been a work in progress since 2008, we do and make what we can but sometimes ya just gotta break down and spend some money....yucko :-)

Mary--I don't think he would actually eat rats, but with him you never know... He was a cave man in his former life and ate only meat... no veggies! I think he still thinks he is one because grain doesn't pass his lips very often unless it's in the form of bread. We complement each other--he eats the meat; I eat the veggies, and we are both happy.

Becca--I really hate ticks and have several bites already this year. They are sneaky little buggers. So far, Rocky Mtn Spotted Fever isn't in our area. I hate not getting out much in the summer because of the chiggers and ticks! Not fair!

Dinner tonight is my favorite thing--reservations!!! Dinner out with friends at a place we haven't been to since they changed ownership. It will probably be burgers or something similar.

Today I went to town and washed and set Mom's hair. DD and DGD came, and we had a tri-city, 4 generation lunch. Since my coffee friend was out of town, I went to the store early and got all the stuff for salads and sandwiches with some mandarin oranges and cream cake for dessert. We had an enjoyable time, and Mom seemed pleased, too. Then DD and DGD came out to the farm for a short time... long enough for me to do some mending for DD! I don't mind--so funny! The girls were having a fun weekend while the boys are at a scout rendezvous.

Dinner update - some baby back ribs jumped into the shopping cart along with some Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce - it is one Sarah can eat - no paprika - so that is what we are having. They are cooking as I type and I am hemming the WHITE Satin blessing dress - doesn't make for a good combination? LOL I have washed my hands very well and checked my clothing for any stray sauce!
