SUPPER CLUB - Wed, April 8th

Post by purrfect-lady » Wed Apr 08, 2015 4:24 am

Good Morning!

I finished Jane yesterday! Wah-hoo! 3-1/2 yrs! Now to find backing for her. Not sure I have a 5-yd suitable piece in my stash. I may have to go shopping . . .

BECCA - congratulations to Duke! Glad your mammy is done. Mine is tomorrow morning. I had my eye exam last Friday and my dental check-up is April 20th. My annual physical comes after that. Then, hopefully, I"ll be good to go for another year.

JOANNE - I have a question: if the Reds were the very first pro baseball team, who did they play??

IRISH - So what color rugs did you buy? We recycled our master bath sage green ones out to the trailer because they matched perfectly and bought new grey ones for in the house.

LADY CAROL - Are you talking about the tissue box holder or the little pocket tissues? I have both that I received as gifts. Nice to have them in holiday prints!

JANA - glad Michael gets to enjoy his friend's visit, even if he does have to share him!

I did try the cauliflower pizza recipe last night. I liked it and didn't think it tasted much different than regular pizza. DH ate his but said he didn't really like it and didn't go for a third piece. Guess I'm eating pizza for breakfast and lunch today. Maybe if I hadn't used the entire head of cauliflower. It called for it, but it really was a big head and the crust was much thicker than my friend's. But really, if you're trying to cut down on carbs, calories, gluten, etc., this is really worth a try.

Tonite will be stirfry - veggies and sausage - with rice. I think I'll prep my veggies earlier in the day so all I have to do is plop them into the frying pan tonite.

Bon Appetit`!

Good morning from slightly overcast but Mr. Sun is trying his best to make a showing....Kind of putting me in the mood to do more of that spring cleaning, that is way past due...I think I'm working on the spring of l987, lol......I did mention to Jim that the kitchen needs painted and after "the look" he said, he'd be happy to find the paint for me....I'll tell you, I am 1 lucky gal, he's so good to me....

Mary, you must be elated, being able to finally finish Jane...Really is a shame you might have to go shopping for more fabric, but you know, you gotta do what you gotta do, like it or not....
The rugs I got are pink, that's my spring/summer bathroom....Autumn/winter is dark green...When I did the wall paper, I made sure it had both colors so I could switch...Nicky tells me I have a "wimply" bathroom but I love it.....

And speaking of Nicky, he (and his mother) are probably coming for a few weeks this summer...I don't remember asking DIL but she more or less said, she'd be happy to come....So, we'll see what happens....

Yesterday, Jim got unstitched, we got the new box for the upstairs TV, got my rugs and had lunch...AND received a package of Jelly Belly jelly beans Kathy had sent....As Chriss would say, it's good to be me!

I think for dinner we might have something different for a chance, HAM....There's really a long list of ways to do ham and I'm just getting started...So ham will appear along with some sort of potato and a veggie.....Dan might be stopping down so I'd better get something baked......

Happy eating................

Good morning,

We did tacos when the boys got home last night and all the kids were out to see their uncle. Made him feel good to know how much he was still loved by all of them.

Dinner tonight will be a soup - I love chowder, so that will probably be dinner with cornbread and honeybutter.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon! Yesterday was a long day at the polls. When we closed up, I dropped DH off at the house and the dogs jumped in and accompanied me to the county seat to return the ballots and materials. I watched Mother Nature's towering thunderheads build accompanied by quite a light show. Returned just in time to spend the evening listening to four tornado warnings to take cover. So, a long night after a long day...

At least last night I didn't cook. DH had already eaten cereal because he couldn't wait for me to return. I had a bowl of kim chi.

Tonight I have some red beans and rice with sausage, so that will be the fare. I will fix some broccoli for DH, and I am going to have an artichoke and some hummus or guacamole for dipping. I also have some jicama. The real treat is FRESH MORELS picked by my own little hands today... I'm thinking perhaps stuffed. If I can, I'll wait and make an omelette in the morning for my breakfast. Actually I got a nice mess, so there is plenty for a couple of meals.

We're in another large thunderstorm now, so my internet will probably vanish. Happy eatings!
