HELLP PALS!!! I knew that Debbie had mailed her blocks and they were to arrive today so fingers crossed I gathered up all the tickets for everyone and took them to Sunday Breakfast with me. Shared your wonderful Poetic Bribes and they were loved very much!!! YES Debbie's blocks came today - YEA! So NOW I can post the WINNERS.

Hello Everyone!!! Wonderful February Lotto with some GREAT BLOCKS. Now is the time to move on to FUN IN THE SUN Springtime!! All are WELCOME
Sign-ups are a show of interest. This is a learning place where we Love to play with lots of colors, practice stitching and do our best to make some wonderful blocks for all to enjoy. Take your time. Play with your fabrics. Do Not Rush and above ALL HAVE FUN!!!

First a Heads-up: 2 extra tickets = Your blocks MUST BE TO ME BY Wednesday, March 25th as we are leaving a few days later to start our trip to the East Coast - WooHoo!!!

COLORS: SPRINGTIME - Fun and Playful Scrappy 5" Square's
Colored Prints and a bonus ticket if you use a stripe for the center block.
NO SOLIDS Please - - I used California Girl from Moda Fig Tree. I love the 2 little kids playing in one of the Fab's.
*** In sewing this block the most important things to watch:
* LOCKING SEAMS and your 1/4" seam allowances.
* The centers of your block MUST, MUST BE 4.5" to get the best accurancy in cutting down the center in both directions.
* After you Stitch and Press, place the 2 1/4" line of your ruler on a seam and cut down the center. Without moving your block do again going the other way. See 1st picture.
HAVE FUN!!!!! ALL ARE WELCOME!!! 14" 9-Patch sewn and cut.

This is what a Disappearing block will look like when 2 of the 4 blocks are turned. Have FUN playing mixing and matching BUT DON'T Sew them together

Actually working on just this block! Have some springy pinks and greens. This quilt is for me!

I will probably have to bow out this month. Hope to go back to Vegas mid month or so and working on some projects I need to get done.

That's right Jacquie. Just stitch the 9-Patch and cut down the centers both ways. I saw a picture of your fabrics. LOVELY!!!

Valerie - We get back late May. Courtney graduates May 15th and the rest depends on where she will be going for her residency. She is hoping to stay in Winston-Salem but could be moving to New Orleans also. We will know more on the 20th of March.

I'm still on the fence (have a couple projects I need to finish before committing) ..and am completely clueless what size the initial 9 patch needs to be BEFORE cutting it..Sonya.

Okay. March is a very busy month for me, but I have a charm pack that Is perfect for this and I received it for free. It will make four blocks with striped centers. Therefore I am considering this kismet.

Welcome April - How fun to make blocks with free fabrics!! Thanks for sharing them with us!!!

Sonya - That's the beauty of this block. You start with 5" blocks. Sew 1/4" seam allowances. Lock your seams. Then make sure you have a 4.5" center going both ways. If you don't this is the time to fix it. Then put your 2 1/4" line of your ruler on a seam and cut. Do again going the other way.
You don't have to square up anything until after you cut the 9-Patch into the 4 sections - But remember we DO NOT SQUARE unless we are the winners. YEA!!!! I am hoping for this one!!!

But seeing as you asked I will be happy to tell you it is a 14" block before you cut. Just don't pay attention to that as it is not the most important thing I do hope you will join us. I love your fabrics and your stitching is wonderful.

Oh my Gosh, Teresa..I just made one of these and it is HIDEOUS! I think I will wait till the next one. I need to finish Noah's quilt and my Vessel Swap anyway. I'll check out next month.....Sonya.
