SUPPER CLUB - Thurs, Feb 19th
Happy today!!
JANA - little Gracie is so pretty! Working NICU for 20 years, I can tell you, not all babies are! But she is a beauty. Know she's going to have a happy life in your big loving family. Lucky baby! And thank you for the recipe!! I'll check my ingredients and make them As soon as I can.
IRISH - yes, maybe Kathy's wrist is God's way, but sometimes His ways are hard to understand, aren't they. what fun to watch the eagle's nest!
BECCA - it will be so nice to have your DGS for a while. and how great that he wants to learn such a neat craft!
VELDA - we love homemade chili here and you're right - it's always better the second day!
Tonite I think it's going to be 'clean the freezer' night. We still have some kind of soup in there in containers that's probably 4 - 6 weeks old. It's not getting any better with age. Best eat it up.
What are you going to be eating up tonite? Hope it's better than 6-week old soup! lol!

I've been doing clean the refrigerator here first with tamales, then with tamales and tacos, then with burritos... now I think I will finish a burrito and make DH something else. He's not much of a Mexican food fan, and I think he's probably getting to his limit. I could eat it any time and every time. I have some brats thawing in the fridge along with some of summer's corn and I'll add some sauteed red potatoes and a salad.
Mary--I would eat your soup!

Good afternoon from sunny, warm, wonderful, SW. Pa....Yep, you're right, the cold has gotten to me, big time! Who ever thought we'd be looking forward to temps above freezing???
Mary, this must be frig/freezer cleaning day but most of the things I've found don't seem to appetizing....And you are right about His plans and I guess it's not up to us to try to understand..But, you are so right about laughter being the best medicine and your cure is really working...And, I'd be happy to eat your soup......
Chickie, I think I've only had real Mexican food once and as long as it wouldn't be too hot, I know I'd like it...As far as Jim, well, he'd probably give me that "it's not one of my favorite things" look....All in all, he's so easy to please...Hey, just give him a bag of pop corn.....
I was going to make some beef veggie soup but had no cabbage and I sue wasn't leaving the house for cabbage, so I changed the soup to chicken noodle...And I did find some all ready browned ground meat in the freezer so I'll mix up some sloppy joes....AND, even found another container of cookies (these were well hidden in the freezer), so Jim will be one happy, happy guy......
Happy eating.................

Good afternoon -
We have eaten through all the take out leftovers - so I will have to cook something today. I will make a run to the store to see what looks yummy.
The cabinets - upper and lower will be in shortly - a big hiccup - the cabinet that holds the microwave is not deep enough, so the microwave would stick out about 4 inches - no way! I think that we are going to punt and add a range hood instead. I found several that will vent in the right direction using the current hole to the outside. Michael has a adversion to making any more holes in outside stucco. In the new pantry was a electrical outlet that was going to be turned into a junction box with just a cover - so now, I can use the new small microwave I just bought in the pantry cab. I will just have to leave the door open while the unit is in use - for ventilation. Just need to convince Michael. We have a call into the cabinet designer.
The granite is picked out - wow! It is beautiful and was the most expensive in the shop - yeah I know - I am spoiled! The original pick just didn't go and nothing else in that price range. Michael liked it too, so it wasn't a hard sell! LOL
Well need to go and see upstairs -
Enjoy,
Jana

Irish--I'm not sure my Mexican food is authentic, but it's as close as I can make it. It's not too spicy. I amp up the heat for me but not for DH. I like cabbage in my veggie soup, too. A lot of people here have never heard of it.
I made DH a cake this afternoon while helping him pick out pecans as he cracked them. It's a box cake, but he doesn't care. The icing is from scratch.
Jana--what an amazing kitchen you're doing!
