SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Feb 10th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Feb 10, 2015 3:34 am

Good Morning!

Lots of rain again yesterday, though they say the end is in sight. We have ducks swimming on our back lawn.

BECCA - My dad's 103rd birthday was Jan 10th (the same day as my Autumn's). He called me a Little Wart. Not sure what he meant by that . . . . .

IRISH - Sorry your sister's wrist won't require any more dr visits. I know you'll miss that buffet! Though what is the problem with her wrist. You're right - I couldn't wait to get to those Irish blocks. I made a 4-block table topper but decided I should back it with Valentines so I can just flip it over for the season change. So now I'm making 12" red/white blocks for that. Starting #3 this morning. I think I'll fill it with a leftover piece of flannel so it won't be so thick. Great that you have enough blocks for more quilts. Did you see the block arrangement on pg 23 of the St. Pat's Swap thread? I might do that one.

JOANNE - your sis eats octopus??? And you even said that out loud here!! Double Ick!! Slices of tentacles or those little whole baby ones? That almost makes oysters sound good!

JANA - What a smart idea - to take wiring photos in anticipation of this project! I would never have thought of that. I guess that's why your Michael is an engineer and I'm not! Is your sink still in place? Dishwashwer? If not, I bet you'll be buying your paper plates at Costco!

I asked Bill if he wanted a homemade pizza tonite and he answered YES before I even got the question mark put to my query! So I guess that's the menu for tonite. And maybe a salad.

And you?? . .

Good morning!

Irish--wish we were closer! I'd hit that Chinese buffet with you any time you wanted to go. When I was taking MIL to all of her doctors' appointments, we went to Braums' afterwards for a single-dip hot fudge sundae for her. She was so funny... loved those sundaes!

Dinner tonight... I put a pork tenderloin in the crock pot. It will probably become pulled pork with BBQ. I also dumped some cabbage and tomatoes in the stew pot for some soup for me. I'll probably add more stuff as I go along.

Mary--glad you aren't floating away... that Arctic Fox has pontoons, doesn't it???

No rain here. One of these days we will be needing it.

I'll be working on my Farmer's Wife blocks. DH is going to a meeting and probably won't be back until 3:00 or so...

Happy eatings!

Good morning!

The sun is shining in my face at the moment and it is bright too! We got a sprinkling of rain yesterday, but that has passed and now it is sunny. No more rain for a couple of days - snow - not even in the forecast!

Part of my kitchen is still there - I have a stove, sink and dishwasher, but I suspect when I get back from the store, they will be gone. Sarah and I are making a Sam's run for paper supplies and Hobby Lobby too.

Dinner - we will see what I have left to cook with - I need to get my Mom's old microwave from my niece across the street. Mine for over the stove doesn't work unless it is vented to the outside.

Enjoy,
Jana

Once again, another late afternoon from sunny but still darn cold, SW. Pa.....

These busy days are getting to me, I need to just stay home the rest of the week...AND, if it's going to be as cold as they say, there is no way, I'll stick my nose outside.....

Jim had to have his picture taken for his driver's license and would you believe he tried to bribe me with a stop at JoAnn's if I'd go with him....He was really surprised when I told him, don't need to stop, I was there yesterday....But, we did make a few other stops and then had lunch at Red Robin, (YUM)......

Mary, my sister keeps getting tumors in her wrist plus having the nasty Old age pains...But, the doc had operated, cleaned it out, removed the tumors, wired and screwed her back together and that's it....She has had so many problems, her shoulders, both wrists and 11 surgeries on just her feet...She's really wired, bolted, screwed, you name it!...It's a lot of fun to go through airport security with her... But, she never complains, never sits still and runs circles around most women older than her, including me.....

Chickie, I also wish you lived closer...Oh my the trouble we could get into....

Jana, just checked the photos and WOW, what a gorgeous layette...And, I think I could put up with no cooking if a new kitchen was the end product....Can't wait to see the pictures....

Becca, I just noticed, we have a lot of deer tracks in our yard..Haven't seen them lately but know they've been there....I feel so bad for them now, having a hard time finding something to eat...

Well, another day of no cooking in this house (and I'm not even getting a new kitchen)....I'm going to have to think up something extra good for tomorrow......I might even be in the mood to bake....

Happy eating...........

Mary, the octopus eater is Earl's brothers wife...no blood relative would eat that! lol!! They are baby whole ones...so gross! Yuck!

Tonight is leftover roast and potatoes...and some peas and Grands biscuits...got to pick up the Market Day order right after dinner.
It is COLD again!

Joanne
