SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Jan 3rd

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Jan 03, 2015 1:49 am

Boy, did we storm here last night! Lots of rain, lightening, & thunder. Not the best camping weather, but today is supposed to be drying out and warming to 60*. It will be a happy hour campfire tonite with Don & Cindy and the rest of our campground gang. The snacks that everyone brings will probably be supper. It's Don & Cindy's last night here so I'm glad the day's forecast is a good one.

ABITA - You are on top of your week's menu! Admirable! But you broke the one and only rule of Supper Club!! NO seafood allowed unless you're referring to your cat's supper! If you MUST have it, it's "mac & cheese". (as opposed to mac & cheese).

CHICKIE - we love Golf! Didn't know you liked cards. We should have played when we were there. What dominoes game did you play? Our favorite is Mexican Train, though we've played others.

IRISH - I agree on all counts - mashed potatoes make everything better, and hardly anything is worth having to get dressed up in 'decent' clothes!

JANA - your garlic bread sounds too good to eat!! I've never heard of a paprika allergy before.

BECCA - you're right - Cindy and I did have a great day! We'll be seeing Tina after we leave Texas. Tina lives 3 miles from the RV park where we always stay in Deming, NM.

Yesterday we ignored our leftovers and since we were out on a F.A.R.T and shopping at IKEA, too, we stopped at Cracker Barrel for supper. Where I had breakfast for supper. Cindy had the chicken and dumplings. And she shared an okra bite with me. My first ever! I liked it but then breading and deep-frying makes MOST things tasty! Most things that don't come from the sea. Let me be clear on that!

Bon appetit'!

Mary, I'm counting down the days hehe :-) Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite places :-)
We're going to our sons best friends wedding and reception, I know they're serving dinner at 5:30 just don't know what but I bet it will be very good :-)
Becca, I like the forbidden food too :-) your supper sounds very yummy!

Good morning,

Mary - yes it is the 3rd of January - Daniel's BD.

He leaves tonight for California - the middle of the night when we are supposed to be sleeping, but it has been a great two weeks with him.

Dinner will be leftovers - lasagna. I sent home most of the cake to the other houses -so there is just one small piece left.

Enjoy,
Jana

Sarah has Graves disease, a auto immune problem - that is what causes the paprika allergy. Daniel has Krohns and is allergic to avocados. My niece has it the worst, peanuts, all nuts, and several others as well - just runs in the family!

Good afternoon--It's just cold here and damp but not icy and not raining. Of course, I'm miserable. I would like to crawl in a cave with my extreme SADness and not come out until the sun is shining and warm. Don't mind me, I get this way every winter. All I seem to want is comfort food, but I'll be somewhat good and have some salad with it.

I came home from town today and made a bowl of soup--love that warm and comforting stuff!

Tonight I think I'll let DH have the left over pizza rolls and a salad, and I'll find some more soup and a salad.

MaryZ--we haven't played cards in years and years, but they introduced us to Golf the other night. Usually we played Mexican Train, which is what we ended the evening playing. It's always good for laughs. I managed to get the next to highest score for both games. I'm glad you are getting some warming!

Jana--I had no idea Graves' caused paprika allergy.

Abita--you can tempt me with f--h any time! MaryZ... well, I just don't know about her and her lack of tastes... When she visits, I humor her and save the good stuff for after they leave.

Ok, NONE of you (except Maryz!) has any taste at all...UGH....F--h! Yucky! lol!!!

Tonight we had BBQ chicken breast, mac & cheese (the real stuff!), and pork and beans. It has rained almost all day...but it's near 60 deg..more of the same tomorrow...and then the temp drops, big time! Earl wants a big snow...lol

Tonight we will watch the Steelers....go Ben!!!
