SUPPER CLUB - Sunday, Dec 21st

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 21, 2014 12:47 am

Good Morning!

Tomorrow we start gaining dayight! YAY!!

ABITA - happy birthday to your son! 6 ducks! Will that be your Christmas dinner?

CHICKIE - how was the party? And the soup?

JO - that's a lot of cranberry cake! But it does sound tasty. You earned supper at Mama's.

JANA - Is Daniel staying with you? Bet your a happy mama!

TINA - that's what we're all about here - friendly support - and meal ideas!

BECCA - yes, I think you did detect of a bit of wistfulness for home. Our friends left - though we still have one other couple who are our good friends but they work here at the park and are busy a lot. I think DH is getting bored. he might be the one tapping his gas pedal foot even before I do! he wants to take Scottie for a mani/pedi a day or two before we leave and I see he wrote a reminder on the calendar for Jan 9th. ;o)))

IRISH - Glad I could give you a visual that brings you a chuckle! Now may I interest you in some cooked barley??? lol!

I think tonite supper will be a pot of chili and some cornbread. I can pop it into the crock-pot and forget about it. Before I left home I made up some cornbread mixes from scratch - got all the dry ingredients in Ziplocks and the recipe written on the bags. DH pronounced this plan "purrfect".

What's your purrfect plan for tonite?

Good morning! The soup was a hit yesterday. There was none left. One of the guys went back for four bowls! Several had seconds. I took my big crock pot full to the brim. Guess I need a bigger crock pot for next year.

We had a fun day yesterday, then it moved to DS1's house later in the evening for snacks, visiting and cards.

Becca--I would have eaten all the ginger cookies, too. Oh, and I like sauerkraut.

I have some ground beef thawed, so I'll be making it into something tonight. I'm thinking more soup of some kind... maybe with barley! Beef 'n barley.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon from semi sunny but still too cold for me, SW. Pa....

Mary, you know every time I see barley, I will think of you and smile....Maybe if you had warmer weather and/or more sun, it would help with the "homesickness".....Jim was always the one in our family that would be ready to come home...

Becca, our Subway is right at the top of the hill and we have to pass it on our way home...Our car has gotten in the habit of just turning right in....But, I do think it's your fault, lol....And as far as ginger cookies, that has to be my favorite...Good for you 2 loosing weight...In our family, Jim has lost but I've managed to find it.....

We went to early Mass and then on to breakfast but Jim wasn't feeling up to par so we didn't stay as long as we normally do...I've noticed, Jim is really having more problems and just yesterday, we had a discussion about meds (him not wanting to take them) and this morning, I think he took twice his dosage...So, from now on, I need to make sure I set out his pills, don't need this happening again....
So, our dinner will probably be soup and toast or crackers....

Happy eating.............

Good afternoon,
Just home from church and dinner will be either chicken and rice or taco soup - I willcsee which one Daniel wants - pretty sure it will be the chicken and rice with milk gravy. His favorite.

Need to put on my apron and get some cookies and divinity made - we have a appointment over at the church, so I can't change iut of my dress just yet, hence the apron.

Enjoy,
Jana

We LOVE the cranberry cake! One recipe is a 9 x 13 pan...I cut three from that...we have 3 good neighbors that we give baked goods for Christmas every year. Then the Pringles group...three more. Then my two Maysville/church friends..and one for us. The one for us is almost gone and "guess who" has eaten it all??!! Earl!

We had Mama's Grill breakfast after church today...so it was Campbell's chicken noodle soup for dinner...with peanut butter and Town House Crackers.

We spent the entire rest of the day in our recliners, with our covers, and watched the Steelers beat the heck out of whoever they played! lol! Monday night our Bengals play Denver on prime time TV....I have a feeling they will lose badly.

Joanne
