SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Dec 6th

Post by purrfect-lady » Sat Dec 06, 2014 2:39 am

Good morning!

I thought I was going to get out of cooking yesterday. DH and I went to a senior dance at the community center and he told me there would be 'refreshments'. I assumed it would be enough for us, but he wanted more. So we went all gourmet and opened a can of Campbell's Potato Soup. That was it. end of menu. The dance turned out to be a snore but they did have sandwiches and chips!

Tonite we're going to grill something outside. Not sure yet what it will be - chops or chicken - but I'll add potatoes and a veggie to it and we will call it 'supper'. We might even have a campfire.

What are you having around YOUR campfire tonite?

Last night was the Trains of Williamsburg, Christmas Walk..Earl and I spent the evening at the Insurance Co. with his train. His daughter found him a Conductor Hat...and had a brass plate made to glue onto it that says, "Paw Paw Pringle...Master Conductor"...He LOVED it!

We had live animals at the Nativity this year and they were a hit. There was supposed to be a camel, too, but it died. The guy who brought the animals was doing yard work and thought that the camel and a few other animals would like the clippings..but they were toxic! That poor man was so upset...

Tonight my son, little Ryan, and my daughter and son in law will come to put up our tree! I have two containers of chili in the freezer so that will be our dinner..

Right now Ashley, our grand, is cleaning the bathroom...YEAH! My RA is in my hands again...ugh.

Good morning,

Tonight is the Ward dinner. I think the main course is ham and we in the Ward bring the side dishes and dessert. I am doing dessert - magic chocolate flan cake, with carmel drizzle. Sarah is making a potato side dish. She is working tonight, so the boys will go with me. There will also be a live nativity play- why I made the costumes. Stu has some part and is singing in the youth choir.

Tomorrow I am doing a pot roast in the crock pot.

Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from a very, very wet, soggy, dreary, rainy, SW. Pa...It's been raining for, what seems like weeks, at least 2 days......Enough already!

From the sounds of everyone's dinners, I'd like to grab a fork and jump in the car and visit, each one....But, I guess that's not going to happen so we'll just have to put up with our soup and sandwich...But, all is not lost, I do have cinnamon rolls raising as I type....Can't have Jim go too long without his sugar......

Happy eating..........

Well, Maryz, so the dance was a "snore"? Not good music, or no one would dance? We have not started our "winter dances yet". First one will be next week.

As for supper, well, I better get busy with it, as it is almost 4:30 already. I am fixing chicken strips in my Turbo Cooker. I love that pan. It cooks food without oil and the meat gets so nice and brown.

Don't know what potato I will make and will add a salad, and canned fruit for dessert. Pretty simple, but should taste good.

I have been so busy today with "monster" quilt and also got my Christmas deco finished.

I need to run off, so I will see you all around the neighborhood tomorrow.
