SUPPER CLUB - Tues, Oct 21st
it's another rainy morning here in Western Washington. Good thing I like rain!
So you girls are posting foods I don't think I've ever seen - purple hull peas and cranberry beans?? I've seen beans in purple pods but not what's going into your suppers.
JANA - Know there will be lots of fun and noise at your house for the series game! Go Giants! What are you filling your ravvies with? I made pumpkin ravvies once and loved them. DH, not so much.
Well, since I started this post I've gone through 3 different menu plans but I think homemade pizza will carry the day! I found my favorite turkey pepperoni on sale the other day and stocked up. And a salad to enjoy while it's baking.
Bon Appetit`!

The beans were delicious last night, and so was the cornbread. So good they will probably be on the menu tonight, although I could turn the beans into chili.
Cranberry beans look much like pinto beans but the "stripes" are deep maroon. DH's reaction when I told him we were having cranberry beans was "they won't taste like cranberries, will they?" He doesn't eat cranberries or the sauce at Thanksgiving or any other time of year.

We ended up eating salad with a burger cut up in it last night because Easton isn't feeling very good so all my time was taken yesterday.
Today is a Halloween special of Pretty Little Liars so DD said she'd cook for us tonight, haven't a clue what though
hmmmm never heard of those 2 either. Probably won't see them around here, we have 2 grocery stores, WalMart and Peppers and they don't carry very much variety I'm afraid.

Good morning,
Starting the "labor" of love - raviolis - mine are spinach with a little bit of ground turkey in them. Served with marinara and cheese. Also making spinach dip and garlic bread with a salad. My ravioli maker makes a dozen at a time and I have a pasta machine to roll out the dough. Then pop them in the freezer - they cook better that way.
There will be dessert as well - mini peanut butter stuffed brownies.
Enjoy,
Jana

HI, purple hull peas are also called field peas(not chick peas) in some circles. I think I've seen them in the cans at walmart. They may have been Trapley's brand. To cook the canned peas: saute a little bacon and about 1/2 of a small onion until tender, add the can of peas, season to taste, and cook for 30 mins. Serve over rice or as a side dish. Down here we put just about anything over rice. LOL You can cook just about any kind of canned pea or bean the same way. Prayers to all
