SUPPER CLUB - Sat, Oct 18th
Good rainy morning!
I hope today I can pry DH away from his computer to go finish up our Christmas shopping. He keeps procrastinating, but it's I who has to pull it all together in just one week. And since it's the men of the family we are shopping for, and since he's always telling me I make poor choices for the guys, then I think he needs to step up himself. Wish me luck! And if not me, then wish our sons and grandsons luck! lol!
I also need to start planning our dinner for next Sat, our family Christmas/Thanksgiving/Halloween/3 birthdays celebration. I'm planning a turkey breast in the crockpot and will go from there. Not sure what all everyone is bringing.
Irish's son didn't have his surgery yesterday. he was prepped, but then they realized he'd been given his blood thinning medication so cancelled the operation for a few days. He was able to come off the vent and was on a nasal cannula for oxygen last night. But his dialysis is coming round again and that always throws him into crisis. God bless him.
VELDA - thanks for sharing your recipe. I'll print it off and give it a try one of these days.
BECCA - funny that I made you hungry for pork chops. I made me hungry for them, too, but never could find them in the freezer! We ended up having a late lunch out with my brothers that day so didn't even cook dinner. and I'm still looking for those chops!
CHICKIE - you've had quite a time with that rental! I'd be doing take-out, too! Or drive-thru!
ABITA - well did you win any raffle prizes? Did you get any chili? Did you get to clean your kitchen? lol!!
Tonite - leftover chix cassrole, I guess. We had lima beans with it last night, my very favoritest veggie of all. And one of Bill's least likes. But he gagged them down. What a man!!
I hope you all don't have to settle for 'gagging it down' tonite!

Good morning,
Lots of prayers for Irish's family -especially Chris - glad they found out the meds before!
Maryz- you have a busy week - Michael is the same way - I have to pry his hands off the keyboard too! Then it takes forever for him to gather all his stuff before we go out the door. Sometimes molasses runs faster than he does in a January blizzard at the North Pole! LOL
Dinner is tortilla soup.
Enjoy,
Jana

Maryz: How do you fit a turkey into a crock pot? Wow, never heard of doing that! Lima beans, I like the green ones in the can, but not the dry white ones that you soak and cook.
Tonight is spaghetti here. I make it always with ground turkey. I don't even buy ground beef anymore.
My cupboards are slim pickins' now. We go back to store the boat at our son's house for winter on Monday. Will offer to cook there, if I can. The "wife" was back for a few days on the advice of her lawyer, prior to serving the divorce papers???? Sounds stupid to me. Even our son's lawyer wasn't sure what kind of angle the other lawyer was going for.
Anyway, if she is still there, it may be very awkward. She was suppose to be leaving Tuesday. When she finds out that we are going to be there Monday night, she may decide not to stay. Who knows???? We are staying for three days, and then come back and pack up our shed and pull out of here.
We prefer not to travel will a refrigerator full of food. I might have a few things like catsup and mustard, jelly, etc. but that's about it.
So I will be cooking light or eating out for the last three days here.
Enjoy your dinners tonight, I know we will enjoy the spaghetti.
Have a great weekend.

Take out tonight, too. After 4.5 hours of soccer games, I picked up chicken on the way home. Have I mentioned.... I hate rentals!
