Question about monthly swaps
I have never participated in the swaps that involve sewing so I maybe completely off the mark. My question is::
When do you decide on the swaps for November or December? If I get enough time to plan, I might give one of these a try.

Re: Question about monthly swaps
Diana, are you asking to join a swap or host a swap?

Re: Question about monthly swaps
Diana,
the person hosting the swap sets up the rules and the deadlines. the hostess figures out which swap she'd like to do then posts it...
if you can meet the requirements of the swap you can join... if you aren't sure if you can make the 20 blocks in the time frame you might want to start with the lotto..
if you have questions about a posted swap please pm the hostess, she will be glad to tell you all about it.

Re: Question about monthly swaps
Joining is my opinion more fun, no organizing required. I participated on a signature quilt long ago, lots of fun receiving blocks from everyone in mail..

Re: Question about monthly swaps
Diana, if you haven't ever joined a swap, read about the swaps that are currently running - Halloween, Fall, and Christmas - and see when the hostess posted them, the rules the type at the top of the swap, the comments people make, and the photos they post. It's a great way to understand how swaps work. Just two things to remember: the blocks MUST measure at least the required size (and do NOT trim them), and you MUST be able to get your blocks to the hostess by the deadline date.
Also, there is the monthly lotto. Fewer rules, fewer blocks. Same thing - read what the lotto hostess (usually Teresa) says.
And join in! The hostess will answer any questions you have.

Re: Question about monthly swaps
You have really helped. I don't believe I will be able to do a 20 block thing yet ~ if ever. I was most interested in the lotto type of swap because I might be able to squeeze out 2 blocks. Of course, it might be a while before I can do much of anything.
Thanks for your help.
