SUPPER CLUB - Wed, Aug 6th
Good Morning!
IRISH - Jim's an early shopper - trying to avoid the rush, I suppose. If I have my facts right, your birthday isn't until Aug 16th. Enjoy your eagle! Will he eventually be an outdoor eagle? I'd like a St. Francis of Assisi for my yard.
Our temps cooled a bit yesterday and I'm not sure we even broke 80*. A relief! For an area that traditionally averages only about 10 days a year over 85*, it's been a warm summer.
Tonight we are having a little dinner party, inviting 2 other couples for swiss steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. our friends are bringing Caesar salad and dessert. One couple are both diabetics and they always insist on bringing something, so dessert is a good thing for them to make as I'm not a very good diabetic cook.
Hope you all have a 'happy meal'!

Good morning! I posted about yesterday’s trip to Scrappy Pat’s memorial service in the Sew In. Last evening when I was on the way home, I saw DS1 and DDIL sitting in their ATV talking to DS3 also on his ATV at his driveway (1/2 mile from us). I chatted for a bit then got DH and came back in our ATV. Pretty soon, another family with little twin girls came in their ATV, and it was a party. Everyone had at least one or two dogs with them—even the dogs were having fun. DH was passing out watermelon and cantaloupes, and we went over to DS1’s and got some left-over pulled pork for sandwiches and ham ‘n beans. Another couple was over there on their ATV along with the young family—the girls were jumping on the trampoline. In retirement communities, they ride golf carts; now everyone has side-by-side ATVs in the country.
Pulled pork sandwiches with chips are on the menu tonight along with slabs of watermelon. Both evenings are/were happy meals.
MaryZ—yesterday I saw a bank clock with 98 degrees on it in Hutchinson. Enjoy your party!
I need to check yesterday’s posts. Enjoy your dinner!

Good morning,
Chickie - fun impromptu parties are the best! Matt keeps trying to talk DH into one of those sise by sides, but to no avail! LOL
Mary - enjoy your party too. Hardwood floors are great - I like both - carpet and hardwood. Read your post to Michael and before I finished, he said, so Bill gets the hardwood and she will put carpet over it! LOL
Must be party day here at the Supper thread - we are eating out tonight as it is Michael's birthday. The family is getting together on Monday to celebrate all the birthdays in August. Easier to do once a month, to get us all together. This month Iis Michael and Andrew, who will be 8.
Little Emma is Matt's youngest and our only girl. That is Matt with her in the picture.
Enjoy,
Jana

Good afternoon from warm, semi sunny, Sw. Pa...It's looking like we might get some rain but for now, it's purrrrfect.....Jim is out mowing..Poor guy has to do it himself, since Nick went home....
Mary, you are really on the ball, my birthday is in a week or so...I was very surprised when Jim told me about the eagle...But then he knows what an eagle nut I am...And as for him shopping early, most of the time, he doesn't get the date right so he was just covering his back, lol.....Right now, I have her/him sitting on my counter and at times, she/he scares the living crap out of me, really does look real...Of course the silly cat is still trying to figure out what it is....I am thinking of sitting it on our patio, near Jim's leprachaun...The 2 of them can protect the house.....
Enjoy your dinner with your friends....Menu sounds delish.....
Chickie, those "fun" parties are the best....It seems now days, everyone is too busy to get together....
Jana, was thinking of you when we saw the news of the hill coming down and taking out that house...Hope all is well in your area....Sounds like fun times with all the birthdays.....
Not sure about tonight's dinner...If nothing pops in the tired old brain, it might be "Mary's scramble"...Of course there's always a chance someone in this house might suggest eating out or even take out.....I'm always open for ideas......
Happy eating...............

I forgot to mention, I'll also be having loads of tomatoes for dinner--probably half a sandwich and a plateful of tomatoes.
Jana--you need to talk fast and get a side-by-side. Mary and Bill brought theirs, and I just loved it. DH didn't think he would ever use one and it would be a waste of money. He wanted a new little tractor, and I looked at the side-by-sides and tried one out while he was checking out the tractor. When we left, we had both the tractor and the side-by-side to be delivered the next day. I asked about discounts for buying both, if we got a discount for farm show weekend, and everything else I could imagine. Got a good deal! I thought the side-by-side would be for me and the grandkids... remember, DH said he would never use it. Well, it hasn't been mine since the first day we brought it home. It has DH's fencing materials, pruning and spraying stuff for pasture weeds and trees, chain saw and related stuff, etc. He uses it every day--all day! Too funny! Now he says he couldn't be without it. I need one for me, now! He acts like it was HIS idea to buy it--so funny!
