SUPPER CLUB - Monday, Aug 4th

Post by purrfect-lady » Mon Aug 04, 2014 3:02 am

Good groggy morning! I can't seem to wake up this morning! I hope I don't type something silly! At least no sillier than usual.

I've been working on my DS & DDIL's Halloween quilt over the weekend. I've got about 2/3 of it made. Each section is differet - some are blocks, some are actually small wallhangings and I'm putting them all together in a hodgepodge. I did this for my DD's quilt and it turned out so cute! Of course, the quilts have to be different!

for supper tonite - I'm thinking of a scramble - a single dish of fried potatoes, onions, sausage, peppers, and eggs. One of my fall-back dishes. DH likes this - as long as he has ketchup!

Do you have your menu set for tonite yet?

Tonight is Dinner with the Pringles...LaRosa's Pizza.
Today I go with my two friends to Maysville Kentucky to shop at Wal Mart and go to the buffet for lunch (my favorite part!). Earl is working in his shop and doing laundry!

Joanne--have a fun day! I wondered if you and your friends were still doing your outing day. Give Earl a hug for the laundry duty! Two dinners out--you are the queen!

MaryZ--I like the scramble idea. Wonder if that would go over here... I'm looking forward to seeing your quilts!

We are probably going to have more of the same summer meals... burgers, tomatoes (me), potatoes, and watermelon and cherries. I made diced fried potatoes last evening, and they were so good. They reminded me of Grandma's summer supper. I had bowls of tomatoes all meals. I love summer for tomatoes and watermelon!

Tomorrow I'll be going to Scrappy Pat's service. DH will have to forage for himself. I'll leave him detailed instructions. It's hard to believe he lived on his own between his late wife and my coming on the scene. He's such a cutie!

Good afternoon from sunny, warm, purrrrfect, SW. Pa..These days could stay forever if it was up to me....Barefeet and shorts, that's my kind of livin'.....

Mary, I like the sounds of your dinner..And of course you have to have ketchup, is it Heinz????Do you remember the green kechup someone at Heinz came up with a few years ago? Nick said, he was adding it to baked beans and it turned the beans green...Not one of their best ideas.....

Joanne, sounds like you're having a purrrfect day...I love when I get togther with gals and have lunch...Jim is usually the one to suffer because I'm never in the mood to make dinner....

Chickie, I too love the summer foods, nothing better...I was checking out our garden and should have taken the salt shaker with me...While I was "looking" I was munching on grape tomatoes....But, in my looking, I found 3 more zucchini, peppers and a bunch of tomatoes....

I think self imposed strike is over...I'm in the mood to cook, only because of all these things from the garden...I'm going to have stuffed peppers and also going to stuff a zucchini..Not sure what else we'll have but I'm sure I'll come up with something....
Yesterday while visiting Chris, we were talking about sweets and he said, about the only thing he likes are raisin filled cookies! Bingo, guess who's baking cookies today....BOTH, Jim and Chris will be happy......

Happy eating..................

Good Evening All.......nice and sunny.....with a bit of overcast clouds now and then......here it is 8pm and only just got here......

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:-

YOUR MIND IS A PUZZLE......YOU JUST NEED TO PUT THE BITS TOGETHER

well never did get back again yesterday.....Sir decided to give the motor-bike a run out....so I decided to catch up on what wasn't done and should have been done......its not always easy when you feel half the time you are joined at the hip......and the other half of the time you feel like c..p....anyway have caught up on most.....and slept the sleep of the just last night and into the morning......

not going to stay for too long.....our lights will be going out...not sure if it is 9pm or 10pm......its to mark the 100 year start of WW1 when the lights went out over Europe......

Todays menu.....Pork Chops(because I took too many out the freezer yesterday)Creamed Potatoes.....Carrots and Cabbage.....leftover Apple Crumble(from yesterday) had to change afters......

Evening all,

Today's supper:

Seven Roast with gravy, baked potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and Southern style Ice Tea (meaning SA-WEEEE-EEEEE-t). Desert: vanilla wafer cookies.
