SUPPER CUB - Wed, July 9th
Happy Hump Day!
What a relief to hear I'm not the only one who is memory-challenged. Even as Bill and I were talking about burgers for last night's supper, we were also discussing our previously arranged dinner with Warren & Lois. and STILL it didn't compute that it was all the same time! Luckily, about 4pm yesterday, we realized that we were due at 5pm for dinner! So the burgers were postponed.
CAROL - If you do just 8 double chevrons a day, they would be finished in about 2 weeks. (unless you are doing the king-sized version, which I think you are not. You look like a sane person too me. lol!)
JANA - Nice save on that supper! I've so been there, done that!
IRISH - when you were in Napa, how much did you have to pay for tasting. Our friends were there about 5 yrs ago and they had to pay $25 at some wineries! It all went towards the purchase of wine if they decided to buy any, but still - that seems outrageous to me.
CHICKIE - love Tasha's signature salad! I remember having some special dishes like that when I was her age and just developing my interest in cooking.
Well, since the burgers didn't get et last night, that may be on our menu tonite. But those packet dinners sound good, too. . . . I might do that instead. With a salad. . .
Whatever goes on your plate - bon appetit`!

Dinner tonight will be whatever is in the fridge that is easy and quick. Natasha is working on her Tumbling Charms quilt top. I ordered foxy fabric for the backing. She may have to make a return trip to finish it. She goes home tomorrow as she has to be there for a 5:30 cheerleading outfit fitting. We are having so much fun. She may make her salad tonight unless she is sewing like a madwoman.
Mary--I can plan meals like that and then realize we are supposed to be somewhere else, too. Sometimes I think my mind is a sieve not a sponge.
Jana—I’ve also tried to cook on “keep warm”. I think it is because former crock pots just had “low” and “high”, and I just turned it to the first click. Oops! I was so tired Sunday evening (got overheated picking corn, I think), that when I cleaned up the dinner dishes, I left a bag of cooked corn on the cabinet to cool down before refrigerating it. Well, it was still there the next morning. Natasha and I had fun feeding it to the cows. They were happy with their special treats. I guess it didn’t really go to waste, and it certainly didn’t go to WAIST! I always think of “corn fed hogs” when I’m eating corn on the cob.

Good afternoon from warm, Sunny, SW. Pa....This is about as purrrfect a day as you can get...We even have a slight breeze.....
Mary, you can tell I'm not up with things, I thought the sampling would be free, lol....BUT, each "flight" was $20.00, so my sister and I shared one...Of course she thought we were taking a plane trip over the vineyard when she saw "flight"...With the sampling, you did get 4 different wines.... We also tasted at the Robert Muldovi (sp) winery but I don't know how much that was...There, we had 3 wines and a little sample of flavored toast....Kathy is trying to talk Cari into having her wedding at a winery..What a setting!
Well, my company is on their way...DIL, Nicky and 1 dog left this morning about 8:30...So, that gives us enough time to pack up, throw the fur kids in the car and get out of town, lol.......
I did run to the store and stock up on things I felt Nicky might like...Going to be fun having a young man in the house again...Terry, Stephan and another dog will be here next Wed.
So for dinner, I have a crock pot full of meat balls and sauce...Figured that would be easy, no matter what time they get here.....Might even bake a Texas sheet cake......
Happy eating................

Tasha and I "played" cupcake wars today. She wanted to make cupcakes, so we made them from scratch, then she decorated them. She loves "Cupcake Wars" on the Food Network. She is about half finished with her quilt top. I ordered backing to match today.
