SUPPER CLUB - Tues, July 8th

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jul 08, 2014 4:03 am

Good Morning! And I'm back! Time to get the fishy smell out of your keyboards because I'm sure some of you weren't dining on true mac'n'cheese while I was gone. I know what happens when the cat's away!

We didn't lack for food while we were gone. We pot-lucked 4 suppers and 3 breakfasts. We had happy hours with lots of appetizers. And there might have been a glass or two of wine along the way. if we'd stayed out any longer I'd have had to come home in my bathrobe. Nothing else would have fit!

Tonite, I think we'll just toss some burgers on the grill while we sit out on our deck relaxing. We have a TV out there, too, so we'll probably spend the entire evening out there.

What's happening on your deck tonite?

Yep, Mary, we made that little aroma here last night. Tasha loves it. She also made her "signature" salad--baked won-ton wrappers in muffin tins then filled with chopped romaine, chopped tomatoes, bacon bits, a little shredded cheese and a ranch dressing all tossed together. We get three "hand salads" on little plates.

Tonight it's free kids night at Pizza Hut, so we are going to enjoy salads, pizza and bread sticks.

Sounds like you and your group had quite a time at the campgrounds! Welcome home to relax! The cat would love it at our house when you are away!

Good morning,

Sounds like lots of fun!

Boy did I do a dumb one yesterday! Was so proud of myself that I had dinner in the crockpot and everything under control for dinner. Well the crockpot was only on warm for several hours. I did wonder why I wasn't smelling anything. So grabbed Sarah's dutch ovens and put them in the oven. Dinner was saved and on time too. Turned out very yummy.

Today will be leftovers, that is if not eaten for lunch. Then I will punt and make my polksa kielbasa, tortellini, and broccoli.

Enjoy, and always double check your settings!

Good early afternoon from slightly overcast but warm, SW. Pa....The weather man just said the sun is done for the day but guess what, he's been known to be wrong.....

Mary, welcome back! Yes we do know what happens when the "Chief" cat is away..But, the mice can't behave all the time, no fun in that....So, you did partake of a few glasses of vino, huh? I'm still thinking of those "samples" we had when we toured the wineries...Makes me want to come back, real soon......

Jana, I've done that same trick and have learned to check, twice....The aroma is the clue, for sure.....Glad things worked out....

The burgers we were going to have last night just might happen tonight....Last night was so uneventful, I can't even remember what we had...Tonight, I might even throw on a foil pack of spuds, carrots and onions....And mysteriously, ice cream sandwiches just happen to jump in my shopping cart while we were at Aldi's, so that'll be good for afters....(That is unless "you know who" has been into them and they're gone)............Do they sell freezers with locks?

Happy eating.............

Good Evening All....a bit of a mixed day today weatherwise.....sunny and warm.....then quite breezy....and then a bit (understatement there) of rain thrown in for the mix.......

Loads of people in Aber today.....but no-one seems to be spending....except the coffee shops.....now they were full.....a coffee is affordable......expensive dresses and shoes are not.....except maybe the fabric shops.....no...no..no...must"nt go there......

reading back on yesterdays post......I must reiterate on our memory loss.....or lack of it......its so true we cant remember what we did yesterday or even 5 minutes ago.....sometimes I have to look on here to see what meal we"ve had couple of days ago.....however when Sir says you didn't say that or you didn't tell me that ......I just know he is trying to get himself out of a sticky wicket......see...I know him so well.....hahaha

Maryz......good to see you home again.....now that I can string a couple of days together.....I may be able to get back to my quilt-in a box....and do just a few more chevrons....just a few.....they have been languishing in their box for a little too long......

Carol.....

sorry forgot our menu.....Chicken Breasts in White Wine Sauce...Potatoes.....Mushrooms and Mixed Veg......Ice Cream and Toffee Sauce for Sir and Jammy Doughnut for me.....for afters
