SUPPER CLUB - Tuesday, JULY 1st

Post by purrfect-lady » Tue Jul 01, 2014 3:51 am

Good Morning! We're going to mid-80's today. Usually our summer weather doesn't put in an appearance until July 5th or later. So this is kind of a treat. Mid-80's are a bit warm for me, but I won't complain. Better than 60 and rainy, and better than 100 and humid!

IRISH - our BBQ was nice. We had a campfire until rain and the hungries drove us back to the covered deck and the BBQ. Our DGS was happy. He didn't recognize his cake as a chef's hat, thinking it had just flopped over. but he did like the gifts we gave him - movie tickets and a mortar and pestle. Imagine, a 17 yr-old, who had just gotten his first car, being thrilled with a mortar and pestle! But cooking is his love and that's what he wanted.Image

CAROL - as the song goes, I guess an itsy bitsy spider can go up the water spout, but it takes the rain to wash him out!

CHICKIE - glad you made it to our table, but I'm leery of your "mac & cheese" recipe . . . . . Nice story about honoring your aunt.

BECCA - Happy birthday to your C.A.! I've often wondered - what does C.A. stand for?

JANA - that's a lot of cooking coming up in your near future! But if I know you - you will love every minute of it.

Our supper last night didn't happen. We had a sudden invitation to my DB's for ham. So tonite - it will be those brats and salad, and corn on the cob if I can find some at the neighborhood produce stand today.

Bon Appetit`!

Good morning from sunny and getting warmer, SW. Pa...It is getting humid which I don't care for but, it's July and summer is here....

Mary, you really do know how to throw a party, crooked cake and all, lol....Your family really sounds special....

Becca, I like Mary have wondered what C.A. stood for...We are in inquisitive bunch, aren't we?

Carol, you had me thinking, what goes up and down etc. and I didn't have a clue....

Last night we really didn't have a "meal"..I wasn't hungry and Jim didn't really feel like eating so he had a bowl of cereal...Now tonight, I'm thinking maybe something with chicken, not sure what...Depends on someone's "funny tummy"...When asked if he wanted to see the doctor, he said, he'd try to fit it in??? I know he's worried about Chris, but he's just not up to par....We'll see!

Happy eating.............

Good Afternoon All.Hot here.

C.A. stands for Clarence Alexander. He is Jr.Our son is the third & our DGS is the fourth. Now you see why we call him C.A.LOL His Dad was Clarence. Our DS is Alex.

We did get blood work done at Dr but what a mess they are in.I would hate to be working there.

Stopped at A Farm on way Home & bought fresh peaches, corn, tomatos,& squash.YUM!!!!

For Dinner DH gets campfire Burger with potatos ,onions & carrots.(wrapped in foil) For me corn on cob,Stir fri squash, peach half.

CHICKIE Love when you join us.Your corn today sounds yummy.I used to freeze it every year but since DH cannot eat it I quit.

Have a great meal & IRISH Hope Jim gets better.I know how that goes because our DGS moving across Country really affected C.A. He was always the closest to us ....Becca

I am late to the table this eve. We had fresh - picked corn on the cob, brats and buns (or no bun), last night's pasta salad and sliced tomatoes. Too full for afters although DH found some apple pie for his. Actually, I had a cup of coffee for mine.

Carol-- riddles are fun but I am not very good at them. The pudding sounds wonderful! All favorite foods or ingredients. Sometimes we just need to put those pesky computers down for a nap much like a fussy child. Glad yours woke up in a better mood.

MaryZ-- I like the chef hat!
