Good morning!

I have been busy the last two days! Already this morning we dropped off my car to be tested for the Smog Certificate and when they call, we will trade the truck for the car. Stopped off at Lowe's - never can get in and out with just one thing! DH needed Epoxy for the Redheads that he is adding to hold up my shelving in the storage room. No, he isn't having a bunch of women standing in there - they are cement anchors, Redheads is the brand name! LOL Currently he is outside putting up my new coach lights - even got the new LED bulbs for them too.

Last night Sarah was down and hung all the family pictures. I was able to get the frames that I needed from Costco yesterday, so after a very long time - the family picture wall is up! Even planned for family expansion, when ever that may come! LOL

So sewing - my machine has missed me! I am still working on El's Kitchen - cutting and getting the appliques all ready for the center basket part of the quilt.

Does anyone have a Howard Miller Clock - the windup chime type - just wondering how often you have to have it cleaned and serviced. Mine will only wind and run for about a year, then stops working. It is a eight day wind clock with Westminster Chimes - I love it. DH is ready to throw it out - he thinks it is defective, so I am wondering?

Well, do something fun!
Hugs

Good morning all. Looks like our run of gorgeous weather has reached it's end. It is back to typical gloomy, wet weather. Oh well, we enjoyed it while it lasted.

I finished up my paper-pieced block last night for my kitchen quilt I am working on (guild swap). I had forgotten how much I enjoy paper-piecing! I may do one more block. One of the blocks we received was very small and will throw off the look of the whole quilt, so I need to augment it with something else. Apparently, our "reveal" will be next Friday....still doubtful if I will be revealing anything! :)

I am at work by myself right now, so I can't stay and chat with everyone......I'll try to check back later.

Prayers for those in need.

Hugs,
Mel

I will get to see my DS2 next month when he gets leave. Today was a goof off morning, now I am at work. Now that I am at work, I want to sew...just can't make me happy.

Good afternoon from a very sunny but very chilly, SW. Pa....Not quite warm enough for me but Mr. Sun is shinning brightly.......

What is it about a man and his lawn mower??? Jim had gotten our's out a couple of weeks ago, had it sitting on the porch and I swear he sat out there and talked to it....Well, he heard someone in the neighborhood mowing so you know who is out there cutting grass....

I finally finished my side of the closet this morning..Just getting all my clothes out was a major job...
But the closet is done and I've adopted that quilting theory about seeing the mistakes on a quilt....I've decided, with all the clothes back in, the light off and the door closed, no one will see if I've missed any spots, right??? Of course, getting the clothes back in is another thing...(It might be days before we're able to sleep in the bed)...

Kathy, I like the idea of everyone having their own bear, especially Kim....You will be posting pictures, won't you? And you had asked what I did yesterday...Very productive, finished reading John Grisham's new book "Sycamore Row" (very good) and then started working on embroidering some quilt blocks.... And the rest of today might be spent on those quilt blocks.....

Chriss, It's all set for Sunday at Chickie's, want me to pick you up? If you're going to the book sale on Sat. I'll come early....And reading your post, it is good to be you......

Cindy, Is there any over the counter meds that will help with the pain? So glad you got the appointment but it's terrible to have to wait.....There is so much happening on Dallas, you'll just have to watch it from the beginning....Very, very exciting!

Joyce, Wow, what a surprise! The baby is just gorgeous...Another little miracle...I love seeing all the pictures of all the babies....

Sherry, aren't you sweet for helping with the funeral dinner...I remember when my Mom passed, that 1st funeral afterwards was very, very hard....You need time....

Well, I'm going to get another cup of tea and check on my baby eagles and then do some embroidering....Purrrrfect day......

You all have a good day....
Prayers and good wishes for all those in need or just need a little hug......

Hi everyone! :-) I am feeling much better today, have been outside for most of it too. I forgot to bring my phone out with me so Mom called DD to see if I was ok, she told her I was probably outside. I called her and told her everything is good. She keeps forgetting that Frankie is home with me, he takes our anniversary week off of work :-)
Awwwwww what a beautiful baby horse!
I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers for all.

Good afternoon! I swept the floors but will wait until closer to Sunday to mop and shine them. They sure are a lot of work, but I’m glad all that isn’t getting ground into carpets. DH needed to run to town, so Odie and I got dropped off at Mom’s for 30 minutes or so. I took her some meatloaf for dinner. We had a nice visit although it was quick.

The wind is strong here. This morning I looked out and saw people and vehicles in the pasture. About that time, DH came home from coffee and went out to check on things. DS1 had been checking cattle, and a heifer was having difficulty calving. He, DS3 and a friend on his horse were trying to catch the heifer to help her. DS1 had to “pull” the calf. It is doing o.k. as is the mom. They loaded them up in the trailer and took them to DS2’s to a pen for observation in case the mom didn’t take to the calf. We had another new born this morning, too. It was from a cow we thought was getting ready yesterday evening. Now we have 16 calves with a possibility of 8 more.

Joyce—your new baby is delightful! What a pretty face.

MaryZ—come on over! The dogs will enjoy Scottie, and I’m sure he will have loads of attention.

Sharona—good to hear your granddog came through his surgery! DH’s mother had a great Pyrenees before she had Tundra, a German shepherd mix. She liked big dogs. I will see you Sunday, too! Bring your appetite!

Izzy—it’s nice to chill once in awhile if you are not chilly!

Jana—My DD has a family photo wall. She even has my high school senior photo on display.

Mel—I’m still trying to get the hang of paper piecing. I hope you will have something for your reveal night.

Florence—You need to find a way to take your sewing machine or hand sewing to your store then find a break time!

Irish—My DH didn’t get the lawn mowing bug, thankfully. Now my late DH had three killer weed eaters and two deadly lawn mowers, a push one and a riding one. He managed to whip the bark off of mature trees and kill them as well as every plant I put out that wasn’t in a container or protected by massive boulders. He was obsessive about mowing. I need to read “Sycamore Row”. I like all of Grisham’s books.

Tina—so glad you are feeling better!!! I’ve been wondering how you are doing.

Now, I think I’ll go try to put a few stitches in the bird houses… It’s too windy to be productive outside, and for me it’s chilly.

Enjoy your afternoon/evening!

Lyn, what a blessing you are to Kaylynn... nice that you could make her the shirts... I would love to see a picture... guess Velcro wouldn't be as good as the snaps huh?

Maryq.. happy new ceiling day... when you type ceiling do you stop after the "C" and say to yourself... I before E except after C??? I do...lol... hope your ceiling looks great.

Cindy.. would a Tylenol PM help you sleep? I've had trouble sleeping lately but I bet it's because the moon is full... I sure hope you sleep better tonight... glad Don has his follow up so soon...he will have his catheter removed on Monday and I will have my oil changed...it's like he and I will be going through all this together...

Kathy, I hate when you buy a kit and don't get a pattern. bet your bears are adorable... I bet Kim could use a bear..one with really long arms for bear hugging.. hope things are looking up for her.

Joyce, your new baby is adorable.. what a great surprise...

Chickie, we are on our way for that breakfast.. O'Dorothy will pick up everyone on your right and I will pick up those on the left. I forgot about the pillow case dress, it would be adorable for Lyn's DGD....now I have to check out the Zoey Christine fabric.

Maryz.. it would be fun to meet at the Golden Gate... this book sale is amazing... it's in a warehouse and all the books are on tables and sorted by topic...so so much fun.

Sharona, sorry about your grand=dog... too hot for soup today, maybe closer to October.

Izzy, you have a turtleneck and knee socks I have no shoes and all the windows open... odd how the weather can be so different.

Jana, you tell Michael that even he needs to be wound up at least once a year, and you're not thinking he's defective, even though he hangs out with redheads.... lol... keep the clock.

Mel, make sure we see a picture of that quilt you're talking about.

O'Dorothy, I'm going to the book sale Friday... so if you come Thursday evening we can get there early Friday and head to Chickies after wards...as for men and their talking to machinery, I believe God put them on this earth so we could shake our heads and have stories to tell eachother.

Chickie, Judi says you're making meat loaf sandwiches. I'll take mine with mayo only...

hope you all have a great night
