Re: Monday, March 31
Good Morning!
The last day of March! Yikes! It's all going way too fast!!
SUZ - sorry you couldn't sleep, but at least you had company! I'm happy you solved your ribbon dilemma. I saw the D.C. snow on the news last night and thought of you. And I've often wondered, just how far do you have to walk in the weather to get from house to sewing cabin? I think you might want to put in a Habi-trail sort of tunnel!
LEAH - yes, if you delete your photos in Photobucket, it also removes them from anywhere else you've shared them. Not sure why. It's a computer thing and therefore beyond my ken. Love that cat quilt though. thanks for choosing that photo to share. I've seen the pattern before. I notice ALL cat patterns!
LOIS - I'll have to pop over to PHOTOS to check out your bag and sew what 'tricky tray' is all about. Nice of you to donate in such a way to March of Dimes. Are all the people from your training class going to the same place or are you all spread out? good luck!!
IZZY - sorry you have to go to non-work work today. But at least it's something where you can take your hexies! how big are they? After working on my 1/4-inchers, if I ever do any more they are going to be FIVE-inchers! LOL!
BECCA - good luck at the doctor's! And your reward will be time with your BF. Enjoy!
CHRISS - I'm glad you finally got some sewing time in! I can picture you in your sewing room at 4am! I think you get up even earlier than I do! So what movie did you end up watching?
JUDI - so sorry you are sick. you 'sound' miserable. I'm glad you're going to call your doc.
LORI - so glad to have you back among the land of the awake! But to be there by 0500 you must still be getting up in the middle of the night!
I have the trailer all cleaned but the bathroom and the floor. I tuckered out yesterday and crashed at 8pm. Guess I'm not used to much physical work! Lazy me! Today I'll finish that chore, do a few others, and start tracing the embroidery patterns for my Hocuspocusville quilt blocks. Also this morning, I'll get back into my daily 2-mile walk routine. Scottie will love that!
Hope your Monday brings you some smiles!

Suz - sorry you couldn't sleep. I hope by now you've had some rest.
Scrap - can't wait to see pix. Oh, I see you've posted one. Darling cat and flower quilt. Whimsical.
Lois - prayer sent up. I'm sure you'll do fine at the new place. A new place should be exciting. I've been coming to this same office for 32 years blah blah blah.
Izzy - how boring that you have to be there and the training isn't even for you.
Becca - I hope you have a good doctor visit.
Chriss - I'm going to call and make an appointment today for my hip. Grrrr I hate taking off work. I'm glad you had such a good sewing weekend.
Judi - feel better soon. I'm curious if it is allergies or a regular cold or bronchitis.
My weekend did NOT go as planned. I had planned on going to Vicki's and get my RV quilt quilted BUT my DGS, Gavin, called to see if we could take him to look at a car and, if he bought it, one of us would have to drive it home because he has no insurance. So Saturday we went and got him, met the car owner at the mall and he did buy the car. I was low on oil so we went to a Jiffy Lube place and Don has his oil changed and the injectors cleaned for his birthday and then got him a tank of gas. Then one of the headlights didn't work so we stopped at the auto parts store then went to our house where all Don's tools are so Gavin and Don could fix the headlight. Then I followed them to drop off Gavin and the car and then Don and I went to dinner and we didn't get home until about 6:30. DARN! It was an all day affair. Yesterday I piddled, sewed a little and laundered a little. I was in too much pain to go to Vicki's. That's it - nothing exciting happening in my world. This coming weekend we will go camping IF the dealership is finished with the warranty work on our 5th wheel in time.
I hope we can all fondle fabric today.

Lori - do you mean that you have that cat pattern? I'm just trying to get a handle on what quilt you are talking about. Not that I'll remember it since I'm a colander head. If it's that cat quilt I think it's cute even tho I'm not a cat person.
Maryz - you and Scottie enjoy the walk. I need to go look up the Hocuspocus quilt. I know I've seen it but need to refresh my memory. I also need to go back and read about Lois.

Good Morning Girls
Just a quick hello this morning.. working late shift today and normally I'd have time to sit and chat for a bit, but have a funeral to go today. My DIL Sara's Grandmother passed the other day and the funeral is this morning. I've know Arlene for years, as she was a customer of ours, and 2 of her sisters used to work for me.
Got quite a bit done on my chore list over the weekend, cleaning and dusting and vac'ing and packing up stuff to get ready for construction crew. Got all my fabric off room mate's shelf and into tote boxes. Think I'm going to have to check out Home Depot for a new shelf... if the fabric is tucked away in tote boxes, I forget what I have! Room mate was off all day Friday and only packed 3 boxes!
Saturday & Sunday she didn't work until 2 but stayed in bed until 1:pm and didn't do a darn thing to get ready to move! FIVE MORE DAYS!!!!
Judi... Glad to hear you are going in to the DR. this morning.. With the right ABX you'll be feeling better in no time--I hope! My go-to tissue is Puff's with Lotion... .can't have a cold without my Puffs!
Becca... part of the reason I make all my lists is, it's so FUN to check things off!!
Izzy... so you are HEXI nut too? Hope the day goes quickly for you...and that you can enjoy the rest of the week off!!!
Maryz... no wonder you were tuckered out last night after all that cleaning!! I'm tuckered out just thinking about it! I'll have to google Hocuspocus quilt to see what your next project is!!
Cindyg... and when are YOU going to the DR to get that hip checked out!
Suzette... winter isn't giving up so easily up here too, we may get a good old fashioned thunder storm here today, but tomorrow they say SNOW.
Lois... am thinking my birdhouses will be here today or tomorrow too! Can't WAIT!
Guess I better run and get in the shower.
Wishing you all a most wonderful day!!
FIVE MORE DAYS FIVE MORE DAYS FIVE MORE DAYS
can you tell I'm getting excited!

Good Morning Cotton Pals
Well today is the day to make my grandson's duck costume.
He has gone to the drama club one day a week for and hour in the morning . He is going to be a duck. He told me he would like me
to make a white duck costume for him. I am about 1/3 done.
He told me there is another duck but he wants to be the best duck.
And he will. Next week we will go to the show to see him.
It should be a nice show.
I love watching the kids they all work so hard.
No quilting until I get this finished.
I will take a picture to show you all.
Everyone have the best day ever

Good morning from sunny Ky!!! Yippee
We are off to the zoo in a few minutes. They have a big bugs exhibit. The bugs are mechanical and enormous. I'm sure Lucy will be scared of them!
Chriss...glad you had a good sewing day. Wish there was one for me soon. I have my fabric ready just need to find a block.
Suzette....sorry no sleep at your house. I hope you sleep better tonight. I haven't slept good since we moved. I hope it's just being in a different place.
Izzy...sorry about having to work on such a pretty day! Cooper's last day is June 6th. It seems like winter has been so long.
O"Dorothy....we are living with friends, they have a walk out basement with all the amenities. The house we are moving into won't be ready until the middle of june. Same city just a different part of Louisville.
Well I better get going. I hope everyone has a great day!

MaryZ - it is not far from the deck to my cabin. But, the stepping stones are sinking into the dirt. When it rains like it did this weekend they are under water. We are trying to figure something out to fix that.

If I knew how to make a big sad face on here, I would do it today. Velda and her DH are leaving this morning. I went over to wish them a good trip and get one more hug. Gonna miss ya, Velda!
Several people are leaving in the next couple days. It's kind of sad seeing the park start to empty out. With the weather being so yucky, people didn't get out and visit as much as they normally do.
I haven't taken the time to read all the posts, will try and do that.
I actually got some sewing done yesterday. I have gotten my orange peel quilt blocks back out and am sewing on them. My birdhouse blocks are out for delivery. Mail comes about noon.

Re: Monday, March 31
Good morning! I think I’ve been AWOL here for the last few days. It wasn’t intentional—just busy. Saturday I went to Mom’s and had a nice lunch and visit. When I returned from getting groceries and put them away, I helped DH clear brush and take out an old fence by the hay meadow. I took my work gloves and volunteered my services—darned if he didn’t accept my offer and put me to work!
Yesterday I think I was in the kitchen all day with my hands in dishwater. I made DH biscuits and gravy for breakfast, then after I cleaned that mess up, I made a carrot cake from a recipe in the weekend insert in Mom’s paper. She showed it to me. It was for cupcakes but DH doesn’t like messing with the little papers, so I made a cake. I used the mixer, both bowls of the food processor and more utensils than I normally do when I cook. More dishwater… but, the cake is sooooo good! It uses a quart of shredded carrots, crushed pineapple, raisins and whole wheat flour—only a little oil and a cup of sugar. It’s one way to get DH to eat his veggies!
Then I walked out to help DH with his brush project. He’s making another little quail habitat in an unused area next to the hay meadow.
For dinner last night I made homemade spaghetti sauce, boxed red rice pasta and frozen meatballs… more dishwater.
I slept in this morning—must have been all the fresh air the last couple of days. It’s WINDY today and going for almost 80.
Chriss—I thought of you when I was making the carrot cake and had Food Network in the background. Guy was at a diner that made DRESSING WAFFLES! I like the crunchy part of the dressing, and these looked awesome! I can’t wait to try them, even though DH isn’t much on dressing… but he does like waffles!
Lyn—that would be bittersweet to leave your friends for the summer. How is your home in Colorado coming along?
Suzette—We had that crazy weather a week or so ago. The weatherman really blew the forecast that day! You need a little bridge or elevated walkway.
SharonKL—have fun! I love zoos!
Dolores—I hope we see pictures of the best duck! I know you will come through for him!
MaryQ—I think you will be packing and moving her out. She seems incapable of taking care of herself unless it was moving in with you. I’m amazed she holds a job.
I’m going to have to come back here… I need to get my face on and my hair dry before DH returns from coffee and wants his brunch! We are going in to town today, and I’ll stop and see Mom and take her some carrot cake as well as a meal of spaghetti and meatballs.
I plan to be back, but if not… Enjoy today!
