SUPPER CLUB - Valentine's Day!! Feb 14th

Post by purrfect-lady » Fri Feb 14, 2014 2:36 am

Good Morning!

Scottie behaved at Autumn's house but only because he was so rambunctious we were afraid he'd really take off if we let him loose. We kept him on his long extension leash most of the time. Autumn has a sick 15 yo cat that never comes out of hiding when anyone is there. A 5 yo old house that came out to see what in tarnation is going on, said a polite hello to us, glared at Scottie who was frantically scrabbling to get at him, and he disappeared. And a 10-mo old baby who was very interested and sat on the upper level of the house peering down looking at us the whole time. He might have played if they'd been together. But we're going back today so DH can do some repairs for them - so maybe they'll get along better today.

IRISH - Oh, not the microwave! That's funny though - hide it from Ted! We're going to need one, too, pretty soon, but just because the door handle is cracking apart.

As for supper tonite - our plan is to go to a Mexcican restaurant with our friends after we get back from Autumn's. IF we get back in time. They are planning to go for Early Bird seating and we will be fighting a full hour-plus commute in rush-hour traffic.

What's YOUR Valentine plan for tonite? And JOANNE - how did you get Earl to start doing dishes? Bill doesn't even always put his dirty dishes in the sink! He thinks there are dish fairies, I swear! lol!!

Dinner is BBQ spare ribs, corn and garlic roasted red potatoes. Desert is Cherry Garcia frozen yogurt. But that's a secret.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Tonight my DH's nephew is flying in from Japan after a year long study for his Master's. Valentine plans are on hold. I will make a salad, lasagna, and chocolate cake, also need to get some French bread.

Happy Anniversary! Mary and Bill.

12stepper your dinner sounds wonderful!

Mary, he has always dried the dishes, but I think he changed because of my RA..right now it's in my shoulders and by the time we're done with dinner, I need to sit in my recliner for a few minutes before I wash the dishes. That is a guess! Not really sure why, but I'm torn between being thrilled and feeling guilty..lol!

Not sure about dinner tonight...maybe some chicken tenders.

We go to get our taxes done about 11am...and a batch of snow is coming! Earl likes to get lunch from Kroger's and take it home...and that's a big meal, so dinner will be light if that happens! The tax preparer is really close to Krogers..

So Irish, I'm thinking that you will get some of this snow tomorrow! Do you leave Saturday or Sunday???

Good morning!

Happy Anniversary Mary and Bill - what a great time you have together!

BD dinner last night has been postponed - we were in the wrong end of town for the restaurant that we wanted to eat at, so it will be another night - very soon!

I think that I will be home here to cook - a nice tender ribeye steak, Michael's favorite cut - he bought me a german chocolate cake for my BD yesterday and we will have that as well for afters.

I also think that as we head up to SLC today that we are heading to the Pandora store in the new City Creek Mall - he buys me a new bead for my BD and Valentines day. It will be fun to go the new Mall - opened not too long ago. Just hope that I can make it walking!

Dorothy - beware of sticker shock if you look for a new stove - the one I am getting is almost the price of a new small car! There were two different sizes, a 30" and a 36" - I thought about the bigger 36 inch stove, that was until I heard the price difference - $3000 for that 6 inches! No Way! So I am staying with the 30" model - it will be just fine!

Enjoy!

Good Evening All......I am waiting at the moment for that wretched wind and rain to slow down so I can make a mad dash out to the laundry room and bring in my "dry" washing.....it is really quite awful out there......this wind and rain has been with us since mid December.....give or take a couple of days now and then in between the stormy weather.....and is showing no sign of abating......
had to stop for a few minutes......heard almighty crash.....yep.....that's a couple of slates gone off the roof.....actually think it might be a ridge tile......but not going to check just yet......
anyway lets get onto food.....its been comfort food today......Beef and Herby Dumpling Stew......Baked Jam Sponge and Custard........

IRISH.....if that plane stops at the top of my road.....you may just find there is an extra passenger......

MARYz....many happies to you and Mr Mary

Good afternoon from a very sunny, still cold and snowy, Sw. Pa...Some of the snow is melting but not fast enough for me...

Mary, keeping poor little Scottie confined...What fun is that???Again, Happy Anniversary and many, many more happy years ...

Jana, I know what you mean about sticker shock..I had a pretty good idea by looking on line so when we got to the store, I didn't faint, just paled up a bit...But, so far, the fixed oven is working perfectly, darn...

And this morning we went and bought a new microwave...I'm not going to try to guess what's next because I'm sure there will be something....I just hope that tree out back didn't get frost bitten too badly....

Joanne, I too, have a hubby that does a lot in the kitchen...He always starts the dishes while I'm having my tea..And on holidays, he's our main washer-upper...I think he does as much as I do around this house....I leave on Sunday and hopefully by then we'll have clear sailing or soaring.....

Carol, boy, you're really having problems over there....What got into Mother Nature's bonnet for her to be so nasty?

Everyone's dinner sounds really delish today and it's not because I'm hungry right now...(Just got back from lunch with a gal friend)...For our dinner, leftovers, what else....Last night's meat loaf, tonight with gravy and the extra baked potatoes, might end up as home fries...

Happy eating...........
