The dog-tooth violet block is stunning! Your quilts are all going to be amazing! Redtop, you are to be commended for keeping with this and getting the blocks posted. All of the blocks are so neat; I'm enjoying watching all the progress.

No, sob, the tooth isn't much better... I feel like I'm falling behind on my blocks....
Besides that my DD put cabinets up over my big board today so the sewing room was out of commission for the day. And we went to the movies right dab in the middle of the day. We saw the second part of the Hobbit, I am so disappointed it doesn't follow the book much at all.

As far as putting my blocks in rows, I'll have to wait until all my blocks are done because I don't want two yellows next to each other or two dark purples.... My quilt will not follow the plan in the book.

We are taking a trip tomorrow up to Syracuse to see Darryl's brother that lost his wife.... he needs the visit and I'm sure the kids will like to see their cousins. So no sewing.... Hopefully I get a day soon to play catch up.

Vicky
PS take a look at the challenge for this year... it doesn't have to be a big quilt. We need more people.

Thanks FarmChick--I have had fun watching their progress too. I love seeing all the beautiful blocks. I agree, these quilts are going to be special. I am glad the girls have kept up each week and I believe they are enjoying this as I am.

Vicky take care of yourself, you can caught up with your blocks later.

Izzy, my Celtic Mystery is sitting in the basket. I have had several appointments with Mom the last 2 weeks--so not much sewing time. I have about decided to continue with the first one I made for the mystery--it may not look so bad. I like the second blocks much better tho.. Ofcourse the second one is mostly navy and red my favorite colors.

Purple is one of my favorite colors too. I swear my quilt will be such a mis-matched mod-podge but I have not bought any fabric so am staying true to my wish to get rid of these pieces of fabric.
I agree Izzy that that Dogtooth Violet block would make a beautiful quilt and I LOVE the idea Kathy of putting it in the middle of a 12 inch star. I wonder if that Carol Doak (don't know how to spell her name) paper piecing paper is easy to remove? I am using typing paper.
Tess, thanks for keeping us all on track! And I love your blocks, your quilt will be beautiful!

Izzy you are right--your blocks turned out very pretty. Snow days are good for sewing. I'm glad you are caught up, doesn't it feel good?
