Re: Monday, January 20
Hello .... to all.
I am very late getting into the conversation here, I know. I have been working and working on my bird houses. Also, we went to get groceries this morning.
Well, yes, Lyn and I had a really great day on the F A R T . And she was so nice to show me the LQSs but as I told her, I would not find them again on my own, unless I had an address and plugged into our GPS aka "Maude". I spent way more money than I should, but that is what it is all about. You find a sale, or you find the "neatest" fabric and you don't have a clue what you will use it for, but what the "hay". It's just fun.
Lyn is a great driver to have handled the situation that we faced. Don't have to fear, she had it under control better than she takes credit for.
As I look outside, I see the palm trees really swaying, I bet their "mac n cheese" gets cut short. It has to be very windy out on the water.
Hugs

Re: Monday, January 20
Good afternoon from dreary, grey, snow covered and looking like more any minute, SW. Pa....We've heard, this is going to be another "tundra weather" week....Sat. is my day to leave all this behind and hopefully enjoy some warmth but I'm still debating.....Jim said, he would like to join me for a week or so (if it's not too much trouble, lol)....I felt like saying, sorry, stay home in the cold, it's too much trouble, lol.....
But, neither of us is feeling up to par, him with his wrist and I feel like I have a touch of the flu, even though I've gotten the shot....He just left to have his wrist checked to make sure it was healing correctly and with my punies, it too shall pass.....
Suzette, loved the picture...Very, very pretty, both you and the scarf....
Chriss, What did you cook? Did you make that roast? You had asked about our new recliner...Yep, it's here, almost wasn't but it is....When Kevin stopped to pick it up, they didn't have it...Kevin isn't one to just say, OK and let it go at that (kind of takes after me, a tad)...But, after he complained and then I called, and heard all the "sorries" and then put on hold, that did it....I then send an email to the mail office and at 8:30 Friday night I had a call from that office asking if it would be OK if they delivered it the next day....So, at 8:15 Sat. morning, 2 very big fellows brought Jim's new chair and even moved the old one out on the porch...Jim is happy but the fur kids don't seem to like it..You know how they are with changes......
Cindy, Wow, what a scary phone call....But, glad you had a relaxing time at the lake...It's always fun if you have friends to play with....
And, I'm with you and Izzy, I really thought Suzette had short curly hair...I get these mental images and it's hard to change.....
Of course if you picture me as a gorgeous, tall blond with a trim body, you got it right...........
Becca, so sorry to hear about your DGS...The femur is the largest bone in the body so it must have been quite a fall...Glad he decided to have his surgery back in the states...I broke my left femur back in 1950 and they had screw me back together, lol..They're still in there and it's really neat to look at the xrays...Will surely keep him in my prayers..........
Maryz, I was thinking of you last night during the game, especially that last couple of minutes....I have a feeling Jana doesn't have any fingernails left...Glad you're having a good time and also glad to hear your DB is going to the doctor.....
Time for me to get another cup of tea and then another nap...
You all have a great day...........

Good Afternoon...........
My Mammo went well. I all most didn't make it. The town didn't sand well & I couldn't get up the hill. So after much frustration & sand I backed down the hill and went up a smaller hill, I just made it up that one. Oh goodness.
I found a desk....I have to wait 8 weeks. The coupon gives me free delivery saving $67. Now how to get rid of the old desk.
Suzette....thanks for the wonderful Wyatt update. I was thinking of him last week.
Chriss....I'm a slacker...,.it one of my favorite words to say, as a Mass girl it comes out with a long "a" and no "r" but an other "a"...slacka...lol
Cindyg.....I'm starting 2 pillows for the living room. but you could still come up. Good news that your house was OK.
Love to all & Prayers...............Kathy

Good afternoon!
From nailess Jana! The game was a real nailbiter through out the whole thing - Only thing that I can say now - is GO BRONCOS!!! Sorry, the "S" team is not allowed to be typed on my computer! LOL It should be a great game.
Spent the whole day out on a traipse - from one store to another to another and to FIL's as well. He keeps pushing the wrong buttons on the remotes for his TV and DVD player, so we have to go over there and fix the mess that happens. Got the new tables for down here in the Batt Cave and the ready to build the storage shelves for the cold room storage. I might get to sew in here somewhere!
Well DH is grumbling about where something is - he always says that someone moved it! Nope, he just doesn't remember where he puts things!
Have a great day!
Do something fun!
Hugs

Found knitting patterns on pattern central, Aunt Mary's slippers, made a pair today (my feet always cold) now searching for scarf pattern. Knit strip of pattern, sew ends to make a circle.. Very popular out here. Every teenager wears them.. The circle is makes twice around your neck, they come in all colors, and design... Fashion scarf..
Sun & cold, went out 2 shovel soak up some sun-Vitamin E, which our country lacks in winter. Quick snack bananas and Xmas jujubes, sugar for energy, and bananas lower the pressure. OK! we're ready for another round of studio sewing/ironing laundry.

Re: Monday, January 20
Just an update since I involved you all by asking for some prayers - my brother has pneumonia. He's been given a breathing treatment and an antibiotic. This is really scary for Parkinson's patients. But hopefully he'll soon start to feel better. I think they should take a day or two to let him rest and then head for home. But we'll see what they decide to do. He's wanted to go home for 3 weeks but she doesn't want to - and she's the driver.
In the meantime, we have other friends here that are parked in the desert across the valley and they've asked us to join them for pizza tonite at the same restaurant where we had pizza with Carole & Co. Since I don't think there's anything we can do for my brother here but let him rest, I think we'll do it.
JANA - sorry about your nails, but mine are pretty chewed off, too! That was a great game yesterday. I thought of you the whole time!
Since it's been an all-day deal to take Jim to the doc 50 miles away and then a 2-hr wait for his Rx's) I've had all day long to play with dogs and make blocks for my sis's retirement quilt. And I got them all done. But I can't put anything together yet so my next project will be starting the wedding quilt. But for the rest of today - I'm going to just sit in the sunshine and read.
Thanks, everyone, for caring about my DB.
