Izzy your blocks are always beautiful!!! I really meant I'm NOT sticking something in my quilt that I don't like. There are 2 blocks I have a problem with---one I don't like and the other I can't get made. The easiest solution for me is to substitute something else.

I went and looked at your blocks. Yes I see what you did SMART GIRL. Looks great.

You all crack me up!!! I haven't even started mine yet. Tess, I am glad you posted those tips for that center of the star. I was about ready to borrow my husband's sander if it didn't lay flat. It might work better than my hammer. Wish me luck. I am going to go read a book and will tackle these tomorrow.
My plan is to use the blocks that are the right size and that I like and make a quilt for our bed. The leftover blocks I will either make shams or something with. I think if I used all the blocks in one quilt it will be way too big for our bed. Is that ok Tess????

Susie that's a great idea. I may not use all the blocks either, but then I may use this quilt in my company bedroom. It would be perfect for that bed---shams would be nice.

I'm anxious to start setting these blocks together. I have a couple pieces of fabric in my stash I may use. I'd love to make this quilt completely with something I already have...

Izzy- I did the same thing with my Dove in the Window...not a hard block but when I'm looking at the pattern my dark and light are reversed.... I have had to unsew I don't know how many blocks because if it.

Oh woe is me...that blazing star about did me in. I worked all day yesterday sewing, ripping, sewing, ripping and it still doesn't look good in person (but that is the way it is going to stay!) Izzy, yours looks great.....did you really do it yourself??? Or did you bribe Tess to do it? LOL I LOVE that letter fabric you used. My gosh, this blazing star was for me the hardest to do. I just had a horrible time. Now off to work on my much easier dresden plate!Image
