Thursday, January 9 (Friday Eve)

Post by suzette58 » Wed Jan 08, 2014 9:48 pm

Good morning everyone.
I got all my radiation mapping done yesterday. I have 3 tattoos that probably cost more then the others I have. My radiation treatments actually start next Thursday the 16th. I won't have to miss any time from work either. After hubby went to work I went out to my studio and just about finished Lydia's quilt. All of a sudden the block I have been going through is gone. So, today after work I will be back out there finishing the top. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning Suzette, Lois and all those that follow. I know you have all been keeping faith for Cousin Heather. She is on a ventilator. They said her lungs are tissue paper thin. She developed another tear last evening that they could not repair. I believe in miracles, so I ask that you keep her in your prayers and positive thoughts.
On a positive note, Mymy is getting stronger every day. His immune system /iron level is now up to 0 which is a great bit of news. They are reducing the steroids down to 10 then 5. He will stay at 5 until after the surgery. He can also have 2 pedisure a day.
Prayers and positive thoughts going out to all in need and thank you for yiur prayers for my family.
PINK warriors you are the best. Get that mamo people.

Good Morning....still cold.....

Today I have to break down & go food shopping. I have no produce or dairy. My car repair won't be too bad it needs a oxygen thingy. I'll have it done Monday. I'll be going to my sister's for dinner. She made a pot of chili.

Love & Prayers to all in need...............Kathy

Good morning...

Scrappy Pat, I about lost my coffee when you wrote that the "endoscopy" issue was a "little behind" then I realized that would be a colonoscopy...lol...glad you're doing well... how long till we get the CA results?

Karlene.. I went to school with many drug store cowboys.. they bought their big belt buckles and hats in a drug store...lol..gosh, two months old... seems like we were just drumming our fingers waiting for the birth....

Maryz.. have a safe trip... I'm not too worried about your dragon, I married a knight in shinning armor.. he has slew many a dragon...

Judi, glad you saved the pipes.. we had a pipe break once.. really makes you realize how important water is.

Velda, I am glad you're liking the birdhouse swap.. there will be more swaps to come...

Lois, glad all went well for you...

Jules, we sure could use that rain...I saw the sew along you're doing on face book...your blocks look great. I almost did that sew along... there just isn't a lot of time for me to keep up...

Suzette, hoep the treatments go well.. sorry the baby quilt isn't fun... thankfully it's not a king size...

Kathy, glad the car repair will be minimal... have some chili for me but add a hot dog... I haven't had chili dogs in a long time.

I applied for that job that I had mentioned some time ago, but I am not sure I really want it... I do like what I am doing now. the job I applied for would be a raise of $1.81 per hour and right now there is a step increase freeze. increases have been frozen for about 5 years...with no end in sight. I is also a supervisor position with no real chance for promotion...so, I think I will go through the interview process but if offered I am not sure I would take the job. I have been told there are only 5 applicants.... interviews should be in the next week or so... but for $1.81 I am not sure it's worth it... maybe for $5

you all have a superb day.

Good Morning Girls

We are actually above Zero this morning.. but 1 degree! But it's going to warm up all the way to 18-19 by this afternoon! YEAH! Only problem is... the clouds are moving in and that could mean we'll get more snow! I'd rather have the cold!

Suzette... when they marked "the girls" for radiation... I hope they at least gave them a pretty design! What no flower designs?? I suppose you just have X's to mark the spots! Glad your quilter's block has passed! I hate when I get that funk and can't get motivated to stitch something.

Chrissy.... last night as I was saying my prayers, I asked God to keep an eye on Heather. Sometimes I think I ask for too much, as I know God is very busy, but I'm sure He'll take a little time out of His day for one true fighter! Good News for Myles!

Lois... work day for me too! But I'm sure looking forward to the weekend! I get to have Miss Evie here for a sleep over and when I pick her up.... I'll meet DS at Joanns and take Evie with me!

Kathy... on my to-do after I pick up Evie is getting groceries too! No milk, no bread, no peanut butter in the house. Thankfully I have plenty of coffee and TP! Glad your car repair isn't too bad cost wise! A big pot of chili sounds wonderful---might have to put the ingredients on my shopping list.. I like to make a huge batch and freeze it for later!

Chriss... $1.81 pay raise.. hardly seems worth it---after taxes it sure wouldn't amount to much. I got a 47 cent raise a couple months ago... can't tell at all. Made no difference in the take home pay!
Can't wait to what swap you are planning!

Teresa... am hoping you get the results of your tests today. Waiting on results can be so frustrating... and jumping every time the phone rings! I'm so excited to get my SP name.... My lotto blocks should be in the mail on Monday.. I work late shift all next week, which makes it a little easier to get the PO on the way to work. Think I better got back and double check them tho that they measure up okay!

ScrappyPat! YEAH for the good news! CANCER FREE!! Hope your CA test results come in soon and that they will be all good news too!

Okay, computer time is up... time to get ready for work. I'm actually looking forward to it .. have a big project that I'm excited to do one of the facilities we service! I am now the "Fun Captain" at work... I get to plan fun activities to boost moral. Next Monday at the staff meeting I'm going to wear my Dad's Navy Hat and announce a new contest we're having! I'm asking every one to bring in a baby picture of themselves and I'm going to put them on a piece of foam board and everybody has to guess who the baby is. It will be easy to guess mine...will probably be the only picture on black and white film!

Wishing you all a most wonderful day

Afternoon girls

Suze – glad your mapping is done and you won’t have to miss work AND your block suddenly passed....wonder if it’s to do with your treatment, now you’re on the home stretch you probably feel you can move forward on the quilting too, it’s amazing what our subconscious mind can get us to do, or not, to do

Lois – how is it being back at work and how is your ankle now, do you feel you are more or less back to normal.....it’s been quite a while, I think I would’ve gone stir crazy LOL

Chrissy – prayers continuing for Heather and Myles and for all the family supporting them x

Kathy – keep warm while you’re out shopping, glad your car repair isn’t going to be too bad and enjoy that chilli with your sister, sounds perfect food for this weather

Chriss – i’m sure you know whats the right decision about your job.....couldn’t you try and squeeze in the sew along, I’m doing 2, one is a block every week and the other one is a block every month, surely you could do that one, you’ve got all year to make that quilt :)

Well this morning the sun has been shining, I’ve enjoyed it while it’s been out but our forecasts are for more rain and snow at the weekend and the temps will drop below freezing – urrrggghhh. Some of you have asked how Charley is doing and she’s doing fine, she was the one who broke things off with Stu, always easier when you are the breaker upper and not the one who gets the news out of the blue. There was nothing terribly wrong but basically Stu has been lost since he dropped out of uni, he has no drive or ambition and just plods along doing not very much....he also has this thing about his dad being wonderful (even though he pays him no mind) and started telling Charley that ‘dad says we should do this, spend our money on that etc’ and when charley tried to discuss it with him, he said my dad says thats how it is and I agree with him!!! Well that didn’t sit well with charley (or me) but we each have to make our own lives, so I stayed out of it and let charley decide herself how she was going to deal with it. Stu is quite a solitary person and I really think he thought when they moved in together it would be him and charley and no one else....he started questioning her about her ringing me, never wanted to go out and see other people but was also very lazy around the house, he did no jobs unless charley asked him to them, he just sat around doing not very much.....its not all down to Stu though, Charley has changed too, she has got more outgoing and confident since leaving uni and starting her job and new horizons are opening up to her and when you marry, you want a husband, an equal....you don’t want to feel like you have a child to look after before you’ve even had children. She told him that they both need to have a break and really think about what they want from life, Stu only wants to do things that he thinks will make his dad happy and shes told him that he needs to have his own dreams and make himself happy before he can think about making anyone else happy.....she has found it very telling though, that since the 2 or 3 weeks she told him, he hasn’t made any effort to fight for their relationship or to show her shes wrong :( So the only thing to do now is sort out the house and the legalities of that, Ross is going to have a chat with them at the weekend, Charley wants to keep the house, if they sell its going to cost them money to sell it with all the fees and costs, so we shall see, but it is all fine and I’m just glad she had the courage to say something, no matter how hard or difficult it was for her......better to do it now than after they were married or maybe even started having children.

Well I’ve gone on for long enough and theres sewing to be done :) so I’ll check back with you all later, lots of love and prayers xx

Goood Morning it is 0 here this morning,,,,frost on all the windows....I think the humidifier worked in the bedroom we both seemed to sleep better,,,,the dry air was raising havock in the sewing room as everything had a static charge and it made working in here a pain. the cat thought we were shooting her I am sure,,,everytime I went to pet her it was sparks....seems better today.

I am almost finished with block one of 14....there are 2 complicated blocks and the rest as less. The christmas quilts are called Winter Wishes by Lynda Howell. her compnay is called The Stitch Connection.

LOL they will hate to go back...but we warned them they have to nake it up next summer....we are supposed to warm up to 40 on saturday and my river is still frozen...this polar vortex needs to go away I am tired of the cold now..

Hello from foggy Kansas! Of course, I think it’s beautiful… we had a dusting of snow in the night, and everything looks like a fairyland. The weeds look like they have been flocked for Christmas. I threw a bucket of seeds out for the birds—they barely leave when I open the door and are back down on the ground pecking the seeds before the door closes.

Yesterday I started on my birdhouse blocks. I’ve been playing with paper patterns for arrangements and cut out all of my background blocks. Fortunately I had enough light tans in my stash.

We have warmed here and are going to the upper 30s today with snow showers forecast today and rain tonight. I hope the polar vortex goes back to the North Pole.

Jules—I think Charley has become a very mature adult and made a very difficult decision that she will not regret in the future after all the legalities are sorted out. It is so much better to do it before they are married. Now, Stu needs to “find himself” and grow up and try to get back in the university…

Suz—best wishes on your radiation. When my late DH had his radiation tats, they were just little dots.

Judi—The pond is still frozen here although not as hard as it was earlier in the week. We are going to be 60 on Sunday. I’m trying to send warmer weather your way.

MaryQ—That is our trade off too… too cold to snow or milder with snow… hummmmmm… Have fun as Captain Happy! When MIL was in the nursing home, they had a board with baby photos of the staff and places to write the guesses.

Chriss—good luck with your job decision if you are offered the position. Sometimes it is nice just to know you got the offer. Sounds like a supervisory job could add headaches for $1.81.

Kathy—sounds like your repairs cost much less than the ones to my truck! Maybe you could spend the difference on fabric… Enjoy your chili!

Chrissy—we have missed you. Great news about Miles!

Lois—enjoy your day! Sounded like you were ready to go back to work.

Oh, the fog has thickened and looks like a fluffy batting snuggling around us. As long as I don’t have to drive, it’s beautiful!

Have a super day! I’m going to do some yoga (getting back to it after the summer and holidays, and I can tell I am so out of shape), then I will work on the birdhouse blocks and try to post one for Vinae.

Stay warm, safe and wrapped in cotton!

Good morning, good morning!
You know it was cold out when 20 degrees feels balmy! Our pipe unfroze and did not break so that is good news. Elizabeth's coffee date with the folk singer has been indefinitely postponed. Victoria started back to work this week and said it feels good to be back.

Maryq - You are the perfect person to be the captain of fun at work - you have such an upbeat attitude!

Chriss - Good luck with the job interview process. I understand your hesitation for only $1.81 more an hour. Praying for wisdom for you. Don't you wish we could see just a little into the future to see how each choice would pan out? I guess it is best that we can't.

Sharona - that would scare me to death to be surprised by someone unexpected in my house - family or not!

Jules - sorry about Charlie and Stu. Even if it is the right thing, I'm sure it's not easy.

Well, it only took me 6 weeks, but since the childrens programs have moved out of my office space, I have now moved some of my things back in so I once again have my blue ball as a chair and my lilac candle burning to add cheer to these soft gray days of winter. My neck has been bothering me since this summer, and it's made me wonder if sitting in a desk chair instead of my exercise ball is what made the difference because I can't think of anything else I've done different, other than getting older! Have a great day everyone,
Karlene
