Monday January 6,2014
Good Morning Everyone,
Today starts my Journey back to work yes it was 4 months yesterday
Im sure I will be fine just a little nervous but once I get there Im sure it will pass.
We are starting off at temps in the 50's I just hope everything goes ok.
When I get home from work I guess I will just sit come on here and see what everyone has been up to.
I Hope Everyone Has A Great Day and keeps safe and warm.
Prayers Go Out To All In Need.
Lois

Good morning Lois and those that follow.
Right now it is 44 outside. But, that is going to change this afternoon. I just saw the schools are closed in the entire state of Minnesota. Tonight and tomorrow is going to be when the cold hits here. I have to say I am not looking forward to it. I have to work tomorrow and I work in the basement of the building. I did get out to my studio yesterday after running several errands. It feels so good to be able to spend time by my self out there. Have a wonderful day and stay warm.
Lois - hang in there on your first day back to work. It will be fine.

I have a question, like most of the nation we are to get really cold this afternoon. I have heat pus a space heater in my studio outside. I wonder if I should bring my machines in the house today after work? Let me know what you think.

Good morning -
it is 29* right now so if I went outside I could probably feel just a wee bit of what you are feeling but I couldn't see a thing as it is pitch black out. Prayers for all your safety and those around you.
Suzette I would probably bring the space heater with you where ever you go. I love the one I picked up at Costco.
Lois - Prayers for a great day back to work. Slow and steady wins the race but then again who is racing in your weather.
Nascar is having there testing for Daytona coming up on Thursday, Fri and Sat. Rob already has the DVR set up to record it.
*** Looking for these 3 stars next to your name if you signed up for Secret Pals. The meanings for each one is explained. Anyone can sign up for January but it must be by January 9th. Names go out on the 10th - YEA!!!! Hope you check it out. We have an awesome "Every other month" planned this year and we are off to a great start!!!!
I was so tired my eyes kept closing on me this afternoon so I laid down on the sofa to take a 20 min nap - ROTFLOL - the next thing I new it was 6pm - hense the reason I am up BUT I am off to bed. Need to be up at 7:45am to go to Doc's so I don't think I will take the pain or sleeping pill.
Have a Blessed and Safe Monday

Good Morning cotton Pals
Good Luck Lois on your first day back to work Hope the day goes by fast for you and you have a good day.
My sewing room is back to normal so I think I will start back on the blocks for my quilt I have 14 blocks made so far.
We had a wicked rain storm last night and almost all of the snow is gone. Its warmer this morning but it is supposed to go down to the teens this afternoon. Its only supposed to be that cold for two days and then warm back up the the 30's and 40's.
Have a wonderful day everyone

Hello to all.
Yesterday, I worked on my bird house block practice block and then did a couple of blocks for the lotto. Lyn and I are going to get fabric today. I have to get some background for my bird houses. I might even pick up a couple more bright or pastel for lotto. Not sure yet.
I have 2 of each type block done, will probably make another set. or more, if I have time.
Now, I need to start thinking about what pattern I will make for SP.
Teresa, I already updated my hints page. Also put the new date on the page to show it was edited currently.
Good Luck Lois on your first day back to work. Bet you will be very tired when you get back home.
Suzette: If you have heat on, you should not need to bring your machines in. But if you expect it will be freezing in your studio, then I would for sure bring them in to protect the electronics.
The main thing is: Do not try to run them with the temps so cold.
They have to have plenty of time to warm up to a moderate temperature before you turn them on to sew.
Teresa: Good luck at the doctors. Hope all goes well.
Have fun today doing something you like to do.
Velda

Good very cold morning here:( It was 3 degrees with wind chill sitting at 15 below. Only got a dusting of snow last night but burr. DH just left for work will call when he gets there to let me know how roads and rest of big town is:)
I plan to sew today cause I am sure will be back to work tomorrow if temps rise.
Lois I hear your agony I too must go back and my break was only 2 wks its hard once you have had that rest and relaxation no stress life at home. Will keep you in prayer.
Sleep was poor last night. Had to prop arm up on pillow to keep shoulder from hurting. DH says its from too much sewing LOL I told him nope its from laying wrong the night before.
Sewing made it better yesterday:)) Sewing makes everything better:))))
Teresa will go take a look at SP in just a bit. Wow you are cold there. I about died the other day reading the post of the other QIAD pal with 80 in CA. I was so jealous:)
Velda and Dolores have fun sewing today:)
Suzzette keep that baby sewing machine warm:) if you get what we have here its a bone chiller and worry how that would affect the machine. Do you have a lil heater you can turn on in your studio? Mine gets down to 55 in here but I just turn on heater for a bit and warms up. I also usually lay a lil quilt over machine to keep her cozy:)
Well need another cup coffee. DD center closed vans not running due to temps. So she is still sleeping and I am going to take advantage and sew a bit.
God Bless and happy thoughts.
2 more lap quilts tied last night(total tied 5}. Will work on binding them today.
Izzy

Good Morning,,,,we got socked with a lot of snow looks like a foot out there,,,,the plows went by and make a pile across our driveway so I can say we are officially snowed in. Ken will get his tractor going later and dig us out...He went down to the river last night(he's crazy like that) and today his foot prints are gone....it is supposed to get really cold now....below zero and schools here are closed today and maybe tomorrow.kids who catch the bus cannot stand out at the road for more than 5 minutes or they are subject to frostbite..a dangerous situation becasue some parents aren't aware of the dangers to little fingers and toes....DD called and she has some neat winter experiments for the kids....like blowing bubbles and throwing water into the air to see how lon it takes to freeze before it hits the ground. of course they won't go out side she will let them stand in the dorrway....I used to like it when my kids had a snowday....we always had to find something to do...
Well I had a stomach virus yesterday and sat on the couch and did next to nothing,,,ate very little and spent quality time with the bathroom..but I seem to be a little better today. at least the stomach part seems to be gone....a little weak today....I may just get to the sewing room today....
hope you all on the east coast are prepared for the cold and snow....stocked up and ready....we were and the stored were completely sold out of milk and bread and BEER here....folks have their priority,,,LOL
well have a great day stay warm and well XXXOOO

Good morning..
cleaning Marilyns room was an all day adventure.. we started with the closets, worked around the room, moved and removed furniture.. but it's clean now and we hauled three totes of treasures to be stored in the garage. if she doesn't ask for the three totes of stuff in the near future they will go to the SPCA sale. we will see how long her room stays clean..lol...
I didn't get to play in my room at all.. but really need to... this week I get my secret pal so I want to make her block and try to get moving on my bird houses...
Maryz.. I love how Scottie protects you from all the alien things... it's good to feel safe...
Barbara, congrats on the grand baby.. boy or girl? what's the name... how exciting.. and how is Richard?
Scrappy Pat.. baking sure makes the house smell good... how is DHs ankle?
Izzy, my hair won't curl either.. and in humid weather it frizzes... sorry your mom is still sick and doesn't want to take your sketti..
Judi, Ken made that apothecary cabinet? wow... it is so cool...I had seen it in pictures but didn't realize he made it.. that man really is good at his woodworking..
Karlene, yes, Mar goes back to school today.. I am so glad you got Harley time.. Jerry watches the games, but he did call me in to see the Old Spice commercial where the moms are complaining about their son's growing up, it was funny...
Jana.. it was a nail biter.. I told my son I was thinking of calling him at the 2 minute warning when the score was 20 to 20.... just wanted to chat...lol
Chickie.. I sure wish there were a way to send some of that snow here.. hopefully as soon as it hit our 60* temps it would melt and the draught warning would go away...
Chrissy, I wondered what you were up to.. glad all is well.
Lois.. best of luck with your first day back...
Suzette, I don't have an answer for your machine question... hope you have a warm day.
Teresa, I will go see how many ***'s I have.. I hope your doc appt goes well.
Dolores, what quilt are you making?
Velda, I love your birdhouse.. happy fabric shopping.
Izzy, it may be nice weather here in Cali but our water table is low, we may have to skip the garden this year to save the water.
Becca, prayers for DH, hope all goes well.
Judi, glad you're feeling better..
after work I do a little grocery shopping for grandma then get to come home...
hope you all have a fab day,
Chriss
