Diamond squares

Does anyone have any hints on making diamond squares? I am getting ready to start a project that says to make several rows of diamonds.
ie: 3 rows of 8 diamonds each. I would appreciate any hints anyone would have. Thank you!

Okay, lay out your diamonds in a row with the diamonds all facing the same direction. Flip diamond 2 onto diamond 1 with right sides together. The body of the diamonds should be offset from each other when you do this. This weekend I will work on a picture tutorial for you if you need to see how it should lay.

I looked at the pattern. Those just look like regular squares, but set on-point. Actually, I think you could achieve the same look by using a solid square (blue in this case) and "snowballing" the corners with the (in this case, red) other color.
For instance, a 10" square of blue and 4 5" squares of red put on each corner and stitched diagonally, and pressed back would do it. It depends on the size border you want, of course. It could be a 5" square and 2 1/2" squares to snowball it. Stitch not exactly on the line but add a thread or 2 to the corner side so it will fold over nicely. Also, I would say that in this instance, they have put in a bit more red... an inch or 2 strip on either end and in between each of the blocks so the corners aren't touching.
