JANUARY SECRET PALS for 2014 - Brought to the top for SPs to find blocks made

WELCOME Pals to the first SECRET PALS Month of 2014.
Chriss asked if I would host the SP's Thread this year and I agreed. I know you had a great time last year and I hope that this year will be just as FUN for everyone.
SP's is meant to be a time of encouragement throughout the year without breaking the bank. So I would like to propose a new idea.
* Each of these months ... Jan, March, May, July, Sept, Nov, (Dec is Secret Santa month with Mary) ... you would make your SP any 12.5"+ block to send along with a FQ of good quality fabrics.
* Please NO EXTRA's. Save those for Secret Santa in Dec should youwish to sign up. This should keep the expense to under $5 that includes mailing and she would be able to make a tablerunner or pillows by the end of the year. FUN and FAST.

SIGN-UPs BEGIN NOW UNTIL THURSDAY, JAN 9th. I will send out names on the 10th. Plenty of time (2 weeks) to see what colors your SP likes to make a block and send with a FQ by the 24th of the month so she receives it by the end of the month. I hope you agree and have FUN this year All the other months you will have a bit more time to make and send. If you do not agree this is a FUN idea then please still sign up and send what your heart would have you send

I will need all of your contact information
real name - forum name - address - phone number - e-mail address
and for contact purposes the name and number of someone who I can contact in the event I can't get in touch with you... this will serve two purposes.. one, we will be able to find you and know you are alive and well and two, in the event you can't communicate for whatever reason someone can fill us in or go check on you...I will not share this information....

Yes, emergencies arise... if you do not have time to make a block then please send 2 FQ's. We all have fabric in our stash to share with a friend. I also suggest that you pick up a few cards to have on hand that will hold a block and a FQ. That way you will be all set to make and mail.

I would strongly suggest using PRIORITY MAIL. It includes delivery confirmation. In the event your package doesn't show up and you didn't use delivery confirmation I will assume you didn't send anything and you will sit out the next month. If you did use tracking and your package fails to show up you will get to participate in the next month providing you give me the tracking number so we can see where the package is.

Please PM ME as soon as YOU MAIL your package. If I don't hear from you by the 24th I will be contacting you or your contact person...to find out what happened.

Please POST a PICTURE and a "THANK YOU TO MY SP" as soon as YOU RECEIVE your package. DO NOT SAY HER NAME. I WILL POST THE NAMES AT THE END OF THE MONTH. THIS WILL KEEP IT A SECRET FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. If I don't hear from you by the end of the sending month I will be contacting you. If you are traveling that month please let me know.

Remember we all have different budgets... This is why I thought this would be a FUN idea to do. This isn't a swap to join if you are expecting a ton of presents to flow through your mail box... it is a swap to join if you like to get a little something in the mail and get to know someone a little better... be thankful and appreciative.

Please DO NOT BREAK the HEART of your SP or my HEART. This is a time of ENCOURAGEMENT and IT IS AN OBLIGATION and it needs to be taken seriously...if you are a person who can't send on time please don't sign up.

A couple of questions before committing:

1. Who is choosing which block we make?
2. How will we know the colors?
3. Can we end a little something extra?

Thanks, limits on my time so need to make sure I can actually do this. Oh, and this is assuming that someday I get over being sick and my rib heals! I think enough is enough!
