Re: Case of the Lost Quilt, 2014 Mystery
Hope that you find your pattern Izzy, those sewing room gremlins love to hid things! LOL I have several that live in the Batt Cave - one is named Sarah! otherwise known as DD!
Well, give me enough tries and I succeed! Watching that 1/4 inch seam pays big benefits! All the points lined up and the one that I have done will live! Looks really good - changed my fabric and put red points on the outside - star pops!
There will be a pic - just as soon as I get the other three done and bring the camera down to the Batt Cave.

Big heads up - the star point on Mark's Star look the best with a dark outside tip for the point - it makes the star pop - did mine with a light for the ones that ended up in Acme Landfill - the new ones have the dark point - looks really good - just a hint.

So if you used the fussy cut in earlier big star and you not real happy with way it looks would I be better to use another solid color fabric or just pick out another fabric to fussy cut marks block

The fussy cut in Mark's block is smaller - so check to see that it fits. Cut just one and audition it. I did fussy cut Mark's block. See which you like better. You can make it all the pieces and then lay them out to see which you like best.

Jana. Did marks fussy cut block match your other fussy cut block or did you do a different fabric

I have a floral -both large and small flowers that I used. It is El's Perennial line in greens and deep reds. If I get a chance tomorrow, I will post a pic for you. The flowers are on the same piece of fabric.

Think I will do mine solid because my flower is large. And can't just get it to look right don't think fussy cut will look good on it. For my fabric I so wish I had not used the fabric I did for the first fussy block
