Christmas Update.....

Found out yesterday why the Kislys (Lauren, his daughter, Michael, his son and Linda the ex) wanted to come for Christmas. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day they all took inventory of what is here in the house. Last night Lauren presented me with a list of things that they all want when Bernie dies. Everything from the piano, the sleigh coffee table, and money. I felt devastated. Didn't say a word to anyone including Bernie. Will wait til after the holidays and will wait til I get my emotions together. And after all I did to make their holiday great......

Oh I am sorry to hear about this. Maybe Bernie has his own ideas, and you could ask him to make a list of what goes where. If he needs help ask someone else to be there to write it down, or maybe Bernie can and put it with the will. That way you don't have to tell Bernie the vultures are circling.

I have to say that I would NEVER give them what they asked for. The gull to ask for these things while he is still alive and suffering. As I have said before, I say it like it is. You have to be strong and say to he.. with them. They deserve nothing.

Put it behind you honey and deal with it when you have to..not now.
You are strong, do not be bullied into doing things you do not want to do.

As someone else said "they are vultures" AND HATEFUL ONES AT THAT.

I agree if Bernie can still make the decision he should. In most states, if a person passes without a will, the legal next of Kin is the wife. That would be you. Stick to your guns.

Deb, if Bernie were to list in his will that he gives them his love and nothing else they don't have a leg to stand on to take anything away from you. So sorry you are having to deal with this crap. Hugs

I pray that you and Bernie have already had wills drawn up. If not, get a lawyer over ASAP, or if nothing else, get one on line and have it notarized!!
Those horrible people should never be able to darken your door again! I feel so badly that you are having to deal with all their crap, especially when your heart is breaking. Remember that you are a strong woman and you have an army of friends here whenever you need us!!!
Come here to vent, or cry, or whatever you need and we will hold you in our hearts and give you whatever comfort you would like.

Wow. There aren't words to describe the feeling I had when I read your letter. Talk about being petty! I agree with everyone else - get a lawyer and get things tied up fast. Again, if Bernie leaves his love and best wishes, there is nothing that can be done. Expect a legal battle.
