SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Eve!
I could swear we had a Supper club thread yesterday, but I didn't see it in my dash through the threads. But we had spaghetti and salad. I also made and heated garlic bread, but I found it in the oven this morning, so I made it, but we forgot to eat it. Do I still get credit??
I've got laundry going - 3 loads - and I'm getting ready to make chili for the crockpot. Then I'll start readying the house for tonite. We'll have two of my kids, their spouses, the two grandsons, my sis and BIL and their son/DIL. And us! And 4, maybe 5 dogs. Should be fun, should it not?
Besides chili, I'm putting out a veggie tray, a deli tray of cheeses and mneats with rolls, several frozen heat-n-eat appetizers (poppers, baby quiches, spring rolls, etc). Everyone else is bringing more of the same type foods. I'm going to make a buffet in the kitchen,
I think folks will start arriving mid-afternoon. so I'm relishing the quiet of the morning!
Merry Christmas to some of my very best friends! I wish you a wonderful holiday!

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Eve!
You sound very busy Mary, hope you can slow down and enjoy the family.
We were going to spent Christmas dinner in the Motorhome, but yesterday at the Christmas Parade friends talked DH into going to the club house for the big dinner up there. I get off easy on the cooking, they were short on people bringing rolls.
I had planned on Ham for our Christmas dinner, so will move that to this evening. Along with some sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, rolls and a Mincemeat Pie for DH.
I will head around to the friends in the park and give them my treat, Beef Jerky. Beading is today so I get some 'Me' time.
God Bless and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!
Lyn

Merry Christmas!
Good morning!
I am heading off to Matt's new home is a little while to get our dinner started - we are all having dinner at their home for our Christmas celebration. I am cooking the prime rib roasts and the yorkshire puddings. My girls are doing the rest of the meal. DH will go and get FIL and bring him over as well - the portable wheelchair ramp works at Matt's.
Afters will be all kinds of goodies and we read the Nativity from the scriptures and then at the end we have Christmas pie - nothing to eat - just a small toy or pj's for the kids to play with until it is bedtime. The "pie" is a large washtub that has a cover on it to hide the presents and everyone gets to "pull" out their present. It is an old tradition from DH's family - lots of fun. I bought DS3 a game that connects to the TV that you shoot ducks - from Duck Dynasty - the big "kids" are going to have lots of fun! LOL
Well must get going - the divinity ran out and I need to make more -
Hugs
Jana

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Eve!
Good afternoon from sunny but cold, snow dusted, Sw. Pa....We woke up to that white stuff and Nicky is thrilled...Of course with the sun, it might not last long....
Boy, I wish I had Santa's traveling powers....I'd be at Mary's for buffet, Jana for prime rib and then on to Texas for Ham....Of course there is Chriss's for turkey in between......No wonder he's so rolly polly......
Today is laundry (scads of towels),finish some baking and Nicky wants to go to a thrift store...And he is making a new chicken dish for dinner....
You all enjoy your dinners and especially, enjoy those around you.....
Happy eating..............

MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone. We are waiting to go to DS so thought I would write a quickie.
DGD & Sawyer come this morning,.What a treat. He is our sunshine. He loved my tree. And while they were here our DGS in the Army called. That is his sister that was here. What a great Christmas present. We facetimed & he looks great.Said he shovels snow everyday.
After all that who needs to eat.She is the one that brings goodies.
Everyones dinner sounds great.I have to bake my sweet potato shouffle then we will go.Do not know what will be on the menu over at Sons house.
Everyone have a wonderful day with family & loved ones.I appreciate each one of you......Becca

Re: SUPPER CLUB - Christmas Eve!
Good Evening Everyone!
Merry Christmas Eve!
Lyn - I love Mincemeat Pie. I did not make one this year because I am the only one who eats it and I do not want to re-gain the weight I lost in December. (I stopped eating desserts Dec 1st).
Dinner tonight will be salad, baked potato, broccoli and steak. There will be no leftovers in the refrigerator. My refrigerator is too small to handle even the 5 lb. Turkey Breast that we are having tomorrow. We will not be having dressing, but Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, salad, green beans, cranberry sauce and dinner roll. We are having Pecan Pie and Vanilla Ice Cream for dessert. Believe it or not Pecan Pie is not my favorite and I will only have a small piece and no second the next day. I would much rather eat the oatmeal cookies and the homemade caramels. lol
Merry Christmas dear friends!
