SUPPER CLUB - Sun., Dec 22

Post by purrfect-lady » Sun Dec 22, 2013 2:36 am

Wow! I'm exhausted! Having fun is tough work! Yesterday my sis and I did a little morning shopping, hit the grocery store, and then came home where I made two homemade pizzas for lunch. My middle brother came for lunch and an afternoon visit. After he left, we had a long game of Monopoly, a leftover buffet for supper, and then settled in to watch "Christmas with the Kranks", a funny movie with a good message for the holidays.

Today, our company is going to a cousin's house for lunch and to visit for the afternoon. We'll have time to vacuum, and freshen up the house and wouldn't a nap be nice!?

My cousin is known for her excellent cooking, so I think when Al & Tina come back they won't be hungry for much supper, but perhaps a big salad and some warm bread will suit.

Miss you all! But know I'm not missing any meals! No worries there! lol!

Good morning!

What a fun time at your house Mary! I have that pattern ready to send to you - maybe tomorrow if I get out in the snow!

Dinner - I am putting a pot roast in the crock pot for dinner - DS3 - my Daniel will be coming in from California sometime tonight - he was smart and spent last night at a friend's house in Reno - that makes it only a 8 hour drive to here. The weather is supposed to hold for him too - he will be following the storm that went through Nevada last night. So I-80 should be clear to us.

Anyone wanting a white Christmas - I have plenty of snow that I am more than willing to share - just ask and it can be on the way! LOL

Carole - thanks for the nice comments about my house - it is fun to decorate - all my little ones love to come to Grandma's.

Enjoy!

Busy, busy busy! It's that time of year, I guess. We woke to 56 deg. this morning...dropping into the thirties, though. Maybe some flurries..I'd like to see some snow for Christmas...

Dinner may be smoked sausage, buttered noodles...and a salad tonight. Tomorrow night is Mama's Grill...dinner with the Pringles.

I need to get back here more often...I'm missing you guys!

Good afternoon from warm, but dreary, slightly rainy, SW. Pa....I guess this might be our last day of warm weather so we're taking advantage of it...Nicky is running around in shorts......

Mary, I'm having fun just reading about you and your family...It's great to have a big family, that get along, lol.....

Becca, you had 4 brothers??? You can sympathize with my Kathy...She did like the idea of a house full of boys but then when she started dating, those brothers made it tough for her....But, she did survive and the boys escaped with not much bodily harm....

Jana, happy to hear that son of your's will be home...Always good to be able to "mother" them, even if it's just for a visit....

Carol, Wow, 2 sewing machines! You really hit the jackpot.....And I agree with Mary settling down, I'm worn out.....But so far, we haven't had to raise bail money.....

And on to our dinner....I put a very nice roast in the crock pot and left it cook all night (smelled so good) and now, I'm making mashed potatoes, gravy, veggie and I have an apple crisp in the oven for afters.....I love to be able to cook big meals and know they'll appreciate it.....At home, they don't get "cooked" for and usually it's Nicky that makes dinner.....(Another story for another time)....

Happy eating..............
